is there anything wrong with stonehouse anatomy outside of claims that feminine/masculine posture is inherent to the female/male sex? i like that he goes into depth on WHY a certain piece of anatomy is the way it is, not a lot of anatomy books do that, they just give you the part and a name and move on.

a lot of inaccuracy

If you’re looking for anthropologic info then just read a specialised book. I read the first uncensored version and it wastes 40 pages talking about evolution with pointless fluff, jokes and meandering like the definition of a living organism and some random plants. It goes into excruciating details in a lot of things that don’t really matter in the realm of art. If you want to get into medical illustrations, then you already have better material in the medical field to reference from- and without the pointless joke cartoons every page. Anatomy for Sculptors does a better job at both being straight-to-the-point while also delving into details that matter, with bigger-sized examples and illustrations- including real life photography, while Stonehouse only has illustrated examples.

>Anatomy for Sculptors
i don't understand why ppl waste their time on everything but don't go for the obvious which is anatomy for sculptors
>>
>>7304168
This is the equivalent of buying a shakeweight to train your biceps instead of dumbells. Like sure you'll make some progress but you'll look like a dumbass while doing it and the thought of whether you're being fucked in the ass will always linger in the back of your mind.
>>
>>7304191
its been a while since ive used it beyond a drawing resource. from what i remember it had to do with range of motion but i dont remember what part. unsure if its translation errors or the actual author's fault
>>
>>7304168
Stuff like this is actually really unhelpul. I agree with the others to find anatomy for sculptors instead.

>The degree of genu valgum can clinically be estimated by the Q angle, which is the angle formed by a line drawn from the anterior superior iliac spine through the center of the patella and a line drawn from the center of the patella to the center of the tibial tubercle. In women, the Q angle should be less than 22 degrees with the knee in extension and less than 9 degrees with the knee in 90 degrees of flexion. In men, the Q angle should be less than 18 degrees with the knee in extension and less than 8 degrees with the knee in 90 degrees of flexion. A typical Q angle is 12 degrees for men and 17 degrees for women.

Love that is page btfo trannoids on xitter.
They had a full blown meltdown about their "unfeminine" man hips and how they didn't match the woman in the anatomy book.
Lots of coping and seething. Sad!

Where is the issue here? Men are better athletes than women because of physiological reasons and sports filters out the more feminine women since wider hips for example cause more damage on the body during hard physical activities because they were designed for baby making instead of combat. Which is why you end up with more physically masculine women in sports and the joke of dykes and female sports are so common, at least they used to be before everybody started pretending reality wasn't a thing.

Anything that reminds troons that they aren't and will never be women is good.

There's a difference between closing your legs to appear timid and submissive and walking everywhere like that because you have knock knees.

I find it rather unfair people are using a six year old image to judge her work.
She seemed to have only designed a small handful of characters and those seem to be the ones that sucked the least.
Now is her design work good? Not really she's allowed to run away with things and that's most likely what happed. Concord is a mess of many things and the major thing is no one hire up looking at it and saying, "hey hold up, this is really ugly."
>>
>>7308286
It's not really running now is it? It's more like crippled and slowly crawling while in complete agony away with it innit?

>Concord is a mess of many things and the major thing is no one hire up looking at it and saying, "hey hold up, this is really ugly."
I dont think you guys understand the situation, absolutely NO critique was allowed at any time during development... only compliments. And not just for art but for every part of the game. Becauase we cant have hurt feelings, and critique is "toxic".

Does what happened make a bit more sense now?
>>
>>7309519
There's no way that's legit. I'm not putting it beyond this shitshow but if that is you gotta drop the source.

not all anatomy books are worth the time referencing to learn this

JUST DRAW is still the best route to go
>>
>>7309685
You know what? Fuck every single person that was a part of that mess. The more i learn about this the less sympathy I have for anybody that participated. They all deserve the massive failure that it was. I'd hope the industry looks at this and takes it as a lesson, but that's overly optimistic. The people in charge of this project probably got a raise and placed in an even higher position. People need to be checked with reality I'm sick of this shit.

You'd have to be blind, low iq or one of those people to not see that no amount of slightly negative although true observations are allowed anywhere for a good half a decade.

Go into any video game general and point out genuine and true flawed game designs and watch the 16541652165416 "skill issue" posts flood in.

Have you tried making a true observation about an e-famous artist's work?
Have you dared call things for what they are?

$400 million blunders like that are allowed to happen because the average normie doesn't want to feel not even minimally not-valid due to the overly feminized culture we've been experiencing.
Artists are even worse because most of them aren't mentally stable or mature enough to handle anything that doesn't validate them.

And Anon, it will only get worse because no one wants to see things as for what they are as long as and because they're profiting from it and the rest of the masses don't have enough knowledge to even have any real opinions on any matter; just knee-jerk reactions based on feelings. We're going full idiocracy.

Ugh that's so bigoted towards Korean cultural values.
Stonehouse's is just a collection of a Korean dude's art tips. It's not an actual anatomy book of medically correct information like Gray's Anatomy. The English title Stonehouse's Anatomy was just a marketing gimmick that worked a little too well
>>
>>7309711
I like to judge people on their work not theirs opinions. I don't give a shit what she said all I care about is her current day work and I wouldn't want to be judged for shitty art I made nearly a decade ago. Make fun of her for her current work.
>>
>>7310487
Too bad, she would have you executed for suggesting 10 years ago on a tweet that a random Muslim might have committed a crime when he beheaded a child in a public square.
Stay flexible.
>>
>>7310487
Wasn't this game in development for 8 years? There's a very real chance she was hired for that exact quality of work. Which by all means, for a game that was supposed to be franchise defining, is just retarded.
>>
>>7310051
Its normal to get critique from your boss or offer input on things in a studio though. Fucking bonkers that they had a no crits at all hugbox policy because this project was someones baby and they didnt want to hear they werent shitting gold.

I really hope this gets better and the reasonable people stand up and say something about shit like this instead of continuing to bow to these retards because "muh job" and "i dont wanna get industry blacklisted for being difficult uwu"
>>
400 Million dollars. How the fuck does this shit happen. Like does everybody understand just how much money almost half a billion dollars is? That's produced games like Red Dead Redemption 2, almost worth 2 GTA V dev cycles, Star Citizen, The Last of Us Pt 2. I mean you look at the quality of those games, and those are all on the higher end, there are so many more that cost far less that are also bangers. You got BoTW at 100 mil and The Witcher 3 at 80 Mil. I mean, it's so fucking crazy that it really makes you wonder. How the fuck did somebody spend 400 million dollars on this steaming pile of shit? Because it certainly wasn't on advertisement. Nobody knew about this game until after it failed horribly. It clearly wasn't on the visual or artistic side, it wasn't on the game development side, so WHERE THE FUCK DID 400 MILLION DOLLARS GO???? This shit has to be some kind of money laundering scheme.

I do this all the time (with honest critique, not trolling) because i like throwing hand grenades into the trenches people have dug for themselves.
I did this several weeks ago on this very board, and another anon who claimed to be some kind of professional went on a tirade about how I was "harming artists" in my voicing of what I thought were issues with the piece.
It was pretty bizarre. At least some others found it funny enough to make this gold out of the shitshow.
>>
>>7310627
Sorry no. Both you and the other anon are deranged autistic fucks. Your conversation spanned over 3 days with neither of you being willing to concede. That image is literally the only good thing that came out of that thread and it commemorates the concentrated retardation of both of you.

You cannot reason with the unreasonable that make up a majority or have power over you. For a guy that has no other real alternatives or go be able to go solo; That's simply suicide.
You gotta understand that the average people got to either have families to feed or keep themselves alive thus they must keep up with the bullshit so they don't get fired or accused of telepathically inducing sexual molestation in some blue haired woman's dreams.
>>7310627
>I do this all the time (with honest critique, not trolling)
See how you have to even say "not trolling"? That's how far gone they are since everything they don't like is bait, trolling or crabbing, because they either lack the IQ, vocabulary and maturity to question anything and somehow they demand others to stop talking about the topic because the current discussion is "negative".

It's just tiring in the long term with these non-people going out of their way to preserve the positive homogeny of anything that you might as well just stop caring and let the turd snake shit itself until it reaches maximal shitting singularity and it like every other game, community or hobby; it just dies.
>>
>>7304168
Is it odd to pretend to be a dyke then draw all women as if they had male bodies?
Why do they copy 8 year old boy's haircuts?
>>
>>7310502
That's a fair point. I'm not too sure when she was hired but she is for sure proud of the art and still has it on her portfolio.
I just like to give people a fair chance and see the nicest reason why. Makes me look foolish on occasion but that's just something I'll live with.
