This is a mistake that most /beg/s make, and all the anime tutorial books still don’t realize it and keep teaching using the left loomis method expecting /beg/s will suddenly understand how to apply the depth without using any guidelines.
I'll stop drawing until you release your book, wouldn't want to fall into bad habits!
>>7304833Consider the followinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T7cDY7YDsg
>>7304833I've never seen the vertical lines that mark where the eyes goLooks useful
left looks better
>1 eye width spacingtons of japanese artists use 1.5 or even 2 eyes of space between, that's why it still looks "off" even though it has le form
>>7304905>2 eyes of spaceyou mean like picrel?
>>7304833Jesus christ what the fuck is this shit?
>>7304833Looks too western, Yuck!
i don't understand, they both look like shit
>>7304833
>>7304927>>7304949>>7304954>unable to understand a rough sketch demonstrating a concept because it doesn't have perfect polish/appealI get what you mean OP, learning the steam whistle technique upped my face game
does anyone have the tutorial that shows the common mistake people make in making the outer side of the face too far away from the center? it gives a really good example and i wish i had saved it.
>>7304974>boobs growing from the armpitSilly /beg/ faggot
Making vertical lines like that is way too much work. You really only need to do horizontal lines for faces. And planes come after the guidlines and aren't even really needed for anime. You could have just saved yourself a lot of trouble by drawing one horizontal line for the eyes.
>>7304972This only really seems useful if you want to draw a robot or something. Faces don't indent that much, the eye rests in the eye socket. You need to learn basic skeleton and muscle stuff, even for anime.
>>7304960>Chris Hart*Snicker*
>>7305397It's just illustrating how most people start making faces.
>>7305364It's only too much work if you can do without it.This is what I'm saying, people barely consider /beg/s' capacity. Imagine if Kim Jung Gi just told people "hurr just draw from your imagination, you don't need any guidelines, it's too much work."
>>7305405A beg has trouble drawing curves. How are they going to stay focused if the guidelines have a load of lines even?
>>7304833yep, fill form - you never make fittable lineart if you dont have form inside ur head (or you trace it, lol). Also with this method my figure drawing/feets/hans making x10, than I try "box" building method

>>7305500huh?
>he didn't take the trianglepill
>>7305506I’ll even post the page before that one to help
>>7305511>>7305500>>7305469Outstandingly useful!!!!Thanks. I'm a sticker for geometric shapes and shit, so this is a very big help :)))
Brb learning japanese, korean or chinese to understand the sacred drawing manuals of the east
>>7305511Oooh sorry for bothering, but it seems the previous owners, about facing straight heads are needed too. Please upload them. Pretty please
Why does everything have to have such geometric guidlines for anime? Even Loomis is really only good for cranking out perfectly unflawed models.
>>7305578i dont think youre meant to do these all the time, id consider it more learning how the face is formed fundamentally
>>7304833Just copy Disney
>>7305588Wasn't a lot of anime actually based on old Disney stuff?
>>7304833You might have a point but that's a dishonest comparison.
>>7305362
>>7305578because a few 2 - 3 px lines placed where it doesn't belong is all that's needed to make your 'anime' look westoid
>>7305608That's the pec you goddamned idiot. Women have those too. The boob is just the fat that hangs off of it.
>>7305588Any site you can find more of these for old disney stuff?
>>7304972>unable to understand a rough sketch demonstrating a concept because it doesn't have perfect polish/appealhi retard, it's very easy to tell the skill level of an artist by a rough sketch. op is like pre pre /beg/
>>7305626Literally just google image search "Disney character sheet".
>>7305464explain?
>>7305616tsk tsk beg chan your knowledge runs shallow
Form is everything, good teachers like Vilppu will tell you that.
>>7305902what's form?
>>7305904topology
>>7304833dude can't even draw a circle, a curve, let alone a straight line.
>>7304833>>7305464Please tell me this is shitpostingHow do you draw like this and try to educate anyone?
>>7305920perfect circles and straight lines are overrated anyway
>>7305920Still mogs me.
>>7305925skill issue
>>7306020even professional artists can't draw perfect circle in a stroke, do you mean math teachers can draw better than professional artists?
>>7305924post your guide.I post what works with me when I construct head, if you dont like it - just ignore or make better. When start to draw anything I try too build a guidelines on white void, but then I get what I can sculpt it in 3d dimension with form, not only with lines, so that x10 draw speed.Anyway, yes I /beg/, but I post something what help me in my adventure, unlike you, mr. crabs.
>>7306039>post your guide.I don't have a guide because I'm self aware enough to know that I'm not good enough to make one.
>>7306055Ffairly. Anyway, what you're doing here, there no much lulz :|
Can someone critique this? It is supposed to be Cailee Spaeny. Just started to work with charcoal.
>>7307259The nose seems too bulbous and her head is wider.
>>7305506someone posted this practice in the /beg/ thread the forehead bulge is weird but it kind of works?i think these examples give a better understanding on how it's meant to be used
>>7307259don't draw a hard line around the entirety of lips.
>>7307546>the forehead bulge is weird but it kind of works?not really, it looks like ass.
>>7307592Not even for lipstick?
>>7307595It's anime to be fair.
