I think I honestly have a new VN 2D workflow and the results are quite good.Not a masterpiece, but the results are fast and reliable to make.What I need after this is to try to see if I can use the ideas of making an asset pack with the concept of layered animation.

>>7338370I used an AI prompt instead of me doing the whole premilinary sketch, and just made an inked pieced on top of the AI render a low opacity.Basically instead of inking my own sketch, I made a layered setup of inks, which allow me to save time when doing the variations.The rest is done normally as if without using an AI.It's not tracing because the head is heavily my own personal style and there's not an AI that can render those eyes yet.I simply use the AI render as double check of proportions and some bits of anatomy, instead of rellying on pure imagination work.

Whenever I read the word "workflow" applied to art, I think of how compromising it is to submit art to such thing. "Workflow" is defined as "the series of activities that are necessary to complete a task", which is more about methodology and logical thinking rather than experimenting and creative thinking. By submitting art to a workflow you are expected to reduce creative thinking to a minimum just so you can go from point A to point B smoothly and quickly, which is fine if you're doing punctual things like working on assets or set illustrations where you know perfectly well what you're going to do and you just have to do it.I have my own workflows for certain types of illustrations and those turn out to be my fastest works period, but I cant for the life of me do the same with my regular pieces because there is so much to think about in terms of creative problem solving.I know this is /ic/ where people refuse to discuss art in a meaningful way, not to mention it's a Chris thread, but I just wanted to ramble about it.>alsoChris, you is an idiot, but you already knew that.
