You will become obsessed with your numbers. You will start chasing trends. You will lose sight of what made you love art in the first place. Social Media will kill your artist's soul. Do not post on it.
AI generated garbo.
>>7346239I painted that myself.
>>7346237AI shit, opinion completely discarded
>>7346249No it's not.
>>7346248https://boards.4chan.org/his/thread/17208896/Kill yourself
>>7346252I also painted that one.
>>7346253Im not gonna keep arguing with youYou simply stole it and uploaded it to spread a cringe edgelord message about social media and soul faggot shit when you don't even draw nor paintJust kill yourself and stop wasting space on this board retarded talentless faggot
>>7346258Stop replying to yourself to get your thread to take off.
You can also fall into the trap of thinking oh no my art sucks because this post didn't get as many dingles as this other drawing I posted, or this other artist's posts get more upvotes than mine. Sometimes there can be truth to this, other times it's just pure luck. I know I have one art piece which had something like sub-20 likes on my social media account, but then the same piece on a different gallery of mine has a few thousand favorites, and then on a booru upload has a score of a few hundred. And still another piece of mine was uploaded to a serial commissioner's account, where it has more favorites than most of his other uploads, many of which were drawn by artists who have much bigger followings than my own.
>>7346237>Draw something>Think it looks pretty cool>Stick it on a website>Gets a handful of likes, somebody says "nice">Smile>Draw something elseI don't see the issue, am I missing something?
>>7346237Thank God I'm chasing art for no reason.
>>7346237We also need to eat faggot. Shut the fuck up.
>>7346269It has to do with algorithms favouring people with a lot of followers or people that have paid subscriptions. It’s not even about luck anymore. If you didn’t have a lot of followers prior to this algorithm model then you are doomed.
>>7346237>You will become obsessed with your numbers. If one of those numbers is your bank account, then it's a very reasonable obsession and you're immature for thinking otherwise.
Online artists are petit bourgeois scum it's true
>>7346522>Draw pornography>Gets x10 the engagement despite using less effort to make that one>Draw something sfw again>Get sad when it doesn't reaches the engagement>Look at some other artists>All they draw is slop for the masses>X100 the engagement you get>Get sad>Questions such as "should I draw slop for the masses too?" "Should I draw pornography?" start to appear in one's head>Art inevitably becomes sloppified, as the subconscious tries chasing higher numbers and interactionsSocial media has ruined countless artists and you know it. You don't know how sad I get when I look at some artist's gallery and find a bunch of creative, well made stuff they drew in the past, meanwhile all they do nowadays is draw low effort garbage as fast as possible to just please the social media algorithm
>>7346709Creativity has no inherent value, nor does effort. If someone was "ruined" depends on artists goals. If that hypothetical artist had a goal of making more money and gathering more attention, then their newer works were better for that and artist improved. If they've alienated one arrogant, whiny and constantly complaining art snob like you in the process of getting x100 more normal followers, that seems like an improvement to me.
>>7346737>Creativity has no inherent value, nor does effortYou are right! All that matters are social media numbers! Who cares about making higher quality art in the art board? God i was so blind>one arrogant, whiny and constantly complaining I barely even complain about this. You can't talk about this shit in social media because then the social media addicts will pile onto you for condemning their art goals as shallow and their art as mass produced garbage with the only purpose of farming likes
>>7346737youre more of a businessman than an artist, it's fine, many people aren't creative and don't appreciate the process of art.
>>7346741The fuck is "higher quality"?If no one likes it, it's not quality, it's just pretentious.
>>7346815lmao
>>7346709>>7346741>>7346743Stop embarrassing yourself and stop being a bitch.
>>7346827different anons dumbass
>>7346831the 'stop being a bitch' was for you
>>7346815You know exactly what "higher quality" means you disingenious fuck. Something that requires tons of knowledge and skill to make it look good. Let me show you the opposite. Modern art. This required 0 skill to make yet some skilless snobs that have appropiated the art world will tell you "OH BUT IT'S WORTH 100000000 DOLLARS YOU ARE JUST PRETENTIOUS AND JEALOUS, THIS HAS SO MUCH MEANING". It's the same with twitterslop. It made 100K likes so it must be good, who cares about anything else. This disdain for skills and craftmanship is exactly why art is such a joke nowadays. Might as well peddle AI trash with that mentality
>>7346846Thank you for using so many words to let me know you're a retard with a superiority complex.
>>7346237i want to make money though
>>7346852>Y-you are pretentious and have a superiority complexWhen did I ever say MY art was better? My art is fucking shit but that doesn't means I can't appreciate something good like OP's pic, and discern it from something bad, despite what I consider bad costing millions in laundered money, or gathering thousands of twitter likes from horny coomers.I disagree with the shallow values peddled by this soulless world that twists artists into slop machines. I disagree with your transactional valuation of art. I disagree with your notion of aesthetics and value. Call me whatever name you want, I think you are a joyless, skilless golem with no real interest in art other than how many eyes look at it. You are a whore, either for attention or money.
>>7346237is this historically accurate? did the conquistadors really bring balloons and puppies?
>>7346846>You know exactly what "higher quality" means you disingenious fuck.If a banana taped to a wall is more interesting to an average guy than your paintings, that's a skill issue.
>>7346709Your 10x is still only 1/10th of their engagement even with the slop buff. Git gud. Not just the art but how you interact, present and socialize too.
>>7346937The conquistadors brought everything, anon.
>>7346237art social media is best used as fire-and-forget and networking, doing more is sinking time with minimal results. chase a trend here and there, it shows your not stuck up your own ass, but keep a nice spread of the shit you actually like to draw
but I want my art to corrupt as many souls as possible, and I can only do that with big engagement
>>7346863Just because some modern art paintings are used for money laundering doesn't mean all of them are shit. You are simply a monkey dwindling about a subject you barely have any knowledge of.
>>7346846>>7346863>if it took more skill to make, it's better art!I hate this mentality that equates art to a parlor trick. Art is the practice of image-making. It's the manipulation of symbols to achieve a change in consciousness. It's actually you being the market-slave whore if you whittle that down to whether an artist is a "valuable, skilled craftsman."
