what makes Photoshop popular among professionals although it's expensive?
>>7355275CSP: drawing/painting programPs: draeing/painting program, image editor
>although it's expensiveTypically your artists will have pirated it for years to draw furry porn and ask you to buy a license, but there's also the synergy between all parts of the Adobe cloud. If you're already using Premiere and After Effects you'd have to be completely retarded to tell your artists to use Krita or CSP instead of Photoshop, especially now that it's subscription based and you already have it.And another big draw is being able to just call customer service whenever you want, any software that dares calling himself industry standard will have an army of third-world slaves in a call centre working 24/7 to recover your files and fix broken DLLs after an update. Krita and the like tell you what to do on their GitHub but you can't really expect artists to know how this shit works.
>>7355275I have no principal objection to subscriptions of Photoshop relative to Clipstudio Paint, my preference is merely because I draw comic and earlier bought-in from 4.0, and I am familiar with its feature set. How much does PS subscription cost?
>>7355275>what makes Photoshop popularnostalgia
I just installed Gimp, but I might just get my ancient copy of Photoshop 5.5, because I am familiar with it,and all that I need to do to get it working is to drag a copy of the folder it installed to from a flash drive into another computer and make a shortcut to the executable.
>>7355327get rid of gimp if you value your sanity
>>7355275CS6if you can find a used copy buy it if not pretend like you did
>>735532880% of my work is done in gimp and i approve this mesage
>>7355275people cant think for themselves
>>7355275i have a perpetual liscence of csp i dont really like drawing on photoshop. ive used it plenty before for photo editing but the workspace sucks for drawing imo
>>7355275CSP' subscription is way cheaper tho
>>7355288>How much does PS subscription cost?$9.99 a month. If you are pro it's nothing.
>>7355581*not free, I mean you don't sweat it
>>7355275>what makes Photoshop popular among professionals although it's expensive?same as wacom for tablets, it's not about the current quality, it's about all the years they were the main option, and most of the industry got used to it and keeps parroting to newcomers to do so as well. Same way families keep buying Monopoly for their kids on christmas, despite being one of the worst board games ever made.
>>7355275Is modern Krita anyhow worse than its alternatives with all the customisation support it has?
Subscriptions are a rip off. Before then, the only people buying the latest version every single year were businesses. Individuals didn't do that shit because nine times out of ten any new features were just extra fluff, and the same is true today. Photoshop CS2 is just as good as the latest version of CC.
>>7355601if you come from photoshop or literally any other drawing software you will lose your mind for about 2-3 hours depending on how much you want to change settings wise and then you have to get used to how the tools worksI've wasted like 2 hours and I'm STILL not happy with how krita functions.
for a fraction of the price of paying for your ps subscription you can own csp permanently and forever, but op wouldnt know that because op does not draw and merely comes here to make terrible threads
>>7355645they are just the usual retard on these boards, eager to post a dumb "anime le bad" meme and poorly disguising it with a "genuine" question.
>>7355645Can I own it forever on mobile?
>CSP subscriptionMy serial-key was a one time purchase. Did they change it?
>>7355275It never crashes and it's very easy to pirate. Literally download it straight from Adobe and replace one file.
>>7355725the latest updates are subscription-exclusive for like a year, your key is probably the base 2.0 version, which is permanent, if you want 2.X you need to either sub, or pay for the 3.0 upgrade a year later, then the 3.X updates become sub only, and so on.
>>7355275I'm not a weeb or a pro but I use CSP. I got it on sale for $20 I think, when it was still perpetual license one time purchase, it just werks.
Remember when buyfaggots said CSP was based and redpilled because, unlike Photoshop, they offered a one-time purchase, very cheap and "fair"?Never give money to something that is made artificially scarce. This is a crime against humanity.
>>7356124They've never not offered a one-time purchase
>NOOOO I need to update my drawing softwareI'm still using CS6 from 2012.
I will not pirate or buy photoshop because either way adobe spies on you.
>>7356152>either way adobe spies on you.how does adobe spy on pirates retard
>>7356185Through their adobe genuine service spyware, you mongoloid.
>>7356225yeah because you don't fitewall that shit and use the whole localhost bs to block any connection attempts you dumb fucking niggerliterally retard tier
>>7356147This, old versions do the same things as the new shit. I honestly don’t know why people update at all.
I still use PaintTool SAI2 as my main app since it's UI isn't as claustrophobic with options as Photoshop or CSP
>>7355275Csp doesn't require a subscription model unless you're using android/ios. People also hated the sub model. Kill yourself.
>>7357590You can change your ui around in csp and make it look just like sai.
>>7355275which photoshop version is the best and most stable?2019?cs6?
>>7357669krita haters told me any customisation takes 3 STEM degrees and years to do
>>7355275Sai v1.1I don't think I will ever use any other drawing software. I really don't care for any bells and whistles or anything else.good, sound drawing will come through no matter what tools you use.
>>7355275Rebelle 7 pro
>>7355275I've tried a bunch of apps over the last 2 years but CSP has the best workflow for me (and no I didn't get used to it before the other apps, I started out with infinite painter)They also keep updating simple mode which I mainly use so I'm not getting ripped off by features I don't actually use
2018-2022 photoshop were on public trackers last i had to get one. i'm not gonna buy a sub just for 2 years of updates.
>>7355275Rebelle

mobilefaggots dont deserve fair pricesyour convenient access to the internet has enshittified every digital space beyond saving, your tax is for being too fucking stupid to use a normal computer
>>7364433You are not special for having a desktop to play CSGO, and masturbate hentai games ,Tablets are crazy convenient only a sore loser would wishh ill to people for using them
can't believe there isnt a decent crack for csp on android.
>>7364446i absolutely am special seeing as I can apparently do what 99% of the population cant: pirate, use plugins and addons, and masturbate to 4k games and hentai
>>7364472....just like literally everyone else on the internet. Inclduing android mobile users.
>>7364476yet they pay to draw on tiny screens and stare at ads and obsess over visible social media numbers all day
>Krita
>>7355275It has NOTHING to do with what you are talking about, but could anyone tell me how to get the latest version of CSP EX without it containing 500 viruses?
>>7364477and you pay to mastrubate to loli porn. So what?
>>7365198posted from my galaxy S25 Pro Note model (2024)
surreal to me that so many retards actually buy these products.nigga just pirate it? i pirated CSP 3 years ago and it's been good to me ever since.muh "jew subscription model" is not a real complaint if you have more than 2 braincells.it's free. it's all free.
>>7365974For now. The jews have been getting really greedy lately. I wouldn't be surprised if they start by taking down archive.org
>>7365978funny
>>7355275except CSP is not only actually good, it's way, way, way better than PShit.and I use the last single-purchase version, I don't pay monthly.
>>7357583content-aware fill is like the only new thing
>>7365991Content aware fill has been around for almost a decade bud. The newer version of it is called "distraction removal" as is pretty much just a more advanced version that uses generative AI. They also introduced a new tool called an adjustment brush. Essentially takes the process of creating an adjustment layer then masking into one tool. Seems kinda superfluous but I think between this and making Fresco free Adobe is trying to capture more of the newer market by both dumbing down their products and introducing a free alternative to thing like procreate so that they can get their hooks into newer artists.
Is there any reason (outside of accessing brushes not available on CSP) to try Photoshop if I’m happy with CSP?
>>7368517most art jobs by volume need ps because of pipelines - links, smart objects etc
>>7368517If i had to put it in a simple way. Photoshop can facilitate many different kinds of workflows and is part of a large suite of tools. It's a very powerful tool. CSP is more specialized in what it is, but I think in general most people are very fine using CSP. If you aren't thinking about things like depth mapping, photobashing, warping, neural filters, etc, then CSP is just as good if not better. I say this as somebody who use Photoshop, if you aren't going to use all of its features save the money and use something like CSP.
>>7364477>yet they pay to draw on tiny screens and stare at ads and obsess over visible social media numironic from a 4chin user that's doom scrolling on a basket weaving forum all day instead of drawing.
>>7362618if you want a more traditional paint programs, rebelle or painter are the best/only choices, and rebelle has at least for me with 5, no glitches while I have never made painter work without glitches. but i also like watercolor and at least watercolor sim on pc only has 2 options. personally I would do everything in rebelle if I didnt have most of the art programs, but because I do, sketches/pencil/charcoal like goes to realsitic art studio, vector work goes to clip studio though I may send that to affinity designer, photo manipulation goes to affinity photo, water color goes to rebelle along with oil/acrilic style, and pure digital work depends on what im doing, buy affinity photo or designer.
>>7355275An old version of Gimp. Sure it's autistic but I'm an autist too so it evens out.New versions of Gimp try to be Photoshop or whatever modern software, instead of remaining an autistic software for autists. And that's where it shits itself.
paint.net
>>7357590Not sure if photoshop allows this, but you can download tweaked UIs from the csp asset store https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1696499if you want to, you can even change csp to light mode to have more of that sai vibe
i use sai because its simple and im retarded
>>7369899>gimpThis is so shit I'd rather use Krita.
>>7368517Photoshop's brush engines are faster and better at blending. Every brush in CSP blend like greasy crayons.
>>7355275There is no offset function in CSP, so I have to use PS to make seamless textures.
>>73552750$ 0$, better
>>7355601It's good software packaged in a UI designed by the average open source/linux fanboy, aka someone who hasn't talked to a real people with real requirements in the past 10 years and thinks their autistic way of doing things is what makes the most senseI just open it to use certain paint brushes that work miles better than what they do in CSP
>>7355287>2024 >believing in customer supportnot even AWS which is arguably the best, is reliable. if you have issues you solve them in house not by someone external.
>>7355275Heh
>>7355688kill yourself
>what makes Photoshop popular among professionals although it's expensive? It's been around for decades, it's good at what it does and there's an entire market of community-made addons for it (mostly thanks to the previous two points)Photoshop isn't without it's flaws and I hate Adobe with a burning passion but you can't deny that Photoshop is the standard for a reason.
>>7355275I am using rebelle and never coming back.
>>7377879i wanna use Rebelle so bad, but i'm broke as fuck and there ain't no cracked version yet
>>7379648you missed the sale? it was just 90% off.
>>7355581>>7355585kinda. I haven't touch Photoshop since I got out of college, at the time it was going for $600 just for photoshop. I started using "ComicStudio" because it was fraction of that and it fits my work flow, and I have been updating it ever since. I draw comic and in general my process is pretty entrenched in Clipstudio. While it is true that I can afford it, but I am not just going to keep it around if I am not using it on a regular basis.
>>7355275>what makes Photoshop popular among professionalsindustry standards. most in-person non-freelance jobs have photoshop on their workplace computers, so it's not like most pros are choosing it out of love - it's all about convenience. nobody actually pays for this shit themselves
>>7379694FUCKK
>>7355275>what makes Photoshop popular among professionals although it's expensive?gay corpo shenanigans. When you work in the industry, you seldom pay for your own Photoshop license. Usually it's the company that pays for the license and then distributes it amongst its employees. This has been going on for years because companies have contracts between each other, and thus Photoshop has become an industry standard. Same thing happens with other industry standard software like Maya, ZBrush, much of Adobe's illustrating and video editing soft, etc. This is why the cost of licenses for these software is excessive for freelancers and hobbyist, especially since there are cheaper or free alternatives that work just as good, if not better.
My copy of Photoshop have been threatening me about having no internet connection lately for some reasons
>>7355275>adobe will scalp my creations for AI databases>adobe will refuse to uninstall if i'm offline>adobe will sue me if i make it using their pirated software and they detect it>adobe will crash>adobe will stay an unoptimized piece of shit>adobe will not autosave>adobe will nig out for no apparent reason>adobe will shitout needless updates and you WILL pay for them>adobe require internet connection to use their software>adobe shills would prefer to be a cuck for daddy and use image editing software over drawing softwareThat's why CSP is superior and is the only good drawing software. >>7364433BASED>>7364889use Rutracker you stupid spook.>inb4 VIWUSES!111!11 DEM RUZZIANS GON STEAL MY FORTNITE N AMAZON ACCOUNT N SHIIET

>>7380062Tell me what cheap/free and viable alternative to zbrush exists.Every time something looks promising, zbrush buys them out to keep competition away.
I use SAI :D
>>7355601Krita can't beat CPS if you're planning on making comics and weeb stuff. Krita's text editor is annoying and CPS' brushes and built-in comic editing tools will give you an irreplaceable edge no matter how good your skill level is. Although I've heard that there are things Krita is better at, CPS is just the state-of-the-art program for cartoons for now. I don't know much about Photoshop since I never do image editing.
>>7355601And by the way, CPS customization is better than Krita's (and Gimp's). A lot more options for shortcuts. Moving from Krita to CPS was very easy for me.
>>7380621Is CSP decent on standalone tablets or is it better for PC+screen tablet.
