What drawing tables do you use? I personally need a good drawing table but don't know what to buy and want to see what people use. Got any recommendations? Do you think the ones on Amazon are good?
>>7360308I got this one from the brand studio designs, it feels neat and sturdy. Rule of thumb is to look for blocky feet, the kind with wheels are always wobbly, no matter the brand. Now studio designs says they're american, but nothing guarantees they're made in USA anymore.I used to have a giant architect table from Italy, sadly they take too much space but they're the best of the best. Impossible to find though
>>7360333Architect tables like this. They get sold in the used market but you can only get them at the seller's place. Sadly the market for drawing tables has died since architect moved to digital
>>7360308I've always been sceptical of using these because I like rotating the paper, and the lip on the bottom getting in the way of my hand
>>7360333I have this desk, I bought it used and had no idea who manufactured it until now. It's great, way sturdier than you'd expect without having a-frame legs. I wish it had height adjustment though.
>>7360308Yeah I've got a slanted table like that. I adjusted it so I can sit or stand at it.
>>7360308Inherited one of these bad boys and it works fine. Wood's soft so I can push pins into it to hold reference. Looks like they retail for about 25-50 bucks if anyone's going for a budget option. That said, the other examples posted ITT got me considering an upgrade
>>7360308this piece of shit is from michels and cheap as fuck. if you are rmeotely tall (im 6'2"), your knees are banging the flimsy piece of shit cloth drawers. the stool is just too small for height/legs. the little shelf thing on bottom is useless as fuck and you arent holding water or brushes there like in this picture. do not buy.
Ikea used to have a nice one
Are the wheel tables really that bad?
>>7362481the wheel stoppers always consume in a year or two because they're all made of cheap rubber, so your table becomes wobbly. I know the static feet seem a headache to clean, but it is for the better.
>>7360333>>7360377I have the exact same thing and I find it too wobbly when erasing or doing heavy scumbling when painting. I do hate it and regret buying it, just because of the wobble when doing heavy handed stuff.
>>7360822Have you tried a kneeling stool
>>7364751>have you tried destroying your knees
Anon, I would strongly recommend avoiding the product you posted. It's a cheap, low-quality item that doesn't offer good value for the price. Brands like Meeden often sell mass-produced products that won’t hold up over time. Instead, I suggest looking for a second-hand drafting table. You can find high-quality tables made by reputable companies that are designed for professionals and built to last. For example, I recently bought a professional architect's table—worth at least $400 new—for just $30 second-hand, and it was in excellent condition. A table with built-in rulers is a nice feature, but it’s not necessary. You can easily use a T square-ruler as an alternative.I recommend checking out second-hand options in your area. You might be surprised by how many are available. I found several through Facebook Marketplace and local buy-and-sell groups, and I also learned that several people I know had one sitting unused in their storage. Look for trusted brands like Hamilton, which are known for their quality.Lastly, don’t forget to pick up a good drafting lamp to complete your setup.
>>7362536Why not just remove the wheels from the wheel tables then? Better yet if they're screw-ins, just replace them with M6 rubber mounts.
