AI art used to be the bogeyman back in 2022 but nowadays almost everyone hates it, even non artists.
>>7386208it was only the bogeyman for salty artists. Most people considered it a cool tool or an interesting toy.
>>7386208The people who churn out ai slop are uncreative and make the same things over and over again. The novelty was interesting at first but after a year the images produced are poorly blended together and become boring, it's actually quite impressive how fast its interest died off. You know it's bad when the ad nauseum attempts at making ai macro memes and hyper rendered anime images never really kick off across the internet wide-scale, and are instead self-contained in whatever niche communities they circlejerk together with.
>>7386208>nowadays almost everyone hates it, even non artists.Non artists are tired of seeing the same AI slop with no storytelling or emotions.
I hate going to google and trying search for a anime pose to use and half the results are AI generated.
>>7386208Gave it a shot, but it's repetitive. It feels like doing gacha rolls with all the displeasure of sorting through a mountain of trash for the good ones.
>>7386267>It feels like doing gacha rollsThisI used AI art a few months ago and it's useless garbage.
It's funny to see takes like this while my feed is constantly retards cluelessly boosting AI shit that just barely looks different from the usual.
We need india range banned from the internet
>>7386208it's a toy and a toolpeople who are actually interested in art will gravitate towards art for one reason or another, even if they're introduced to it by ai artworkbusiness types will continue to churn out ai artwork with patreons that will make them money, regardless of cries over quality from artists and die-hard art fansprofessionals will use it to generate novel reference while being forced to wade through bad genseveryone else literally doesn't care and have been going about their lives like nothing has changed (it hasn't - artists will make art, suits will make money, they'll both hate each other for equally valid and shallow reasons, and the world will continue turning until the sun explodes or we experience a universal heat death)
>>7386237>hyper rendered anime imagesThis hits on my problem with AI anime art. Anime style is based on SIMPLIFICATION. Anikyaras have relatively realistic bodies and simplified faces. When you do the heavy rendering that AI does it looks off. A lot of heavily rendered anime art drawn by humans looks off too. Too much detail isnt good.
>>7386208Wait for the new wave of better models. They are already coming.
>>7386208NOTHING EVER HAPPENS
>>7386339Ai artists:>wait until the new version, then I will start creating my dream projectartists>wait until I study a little bit more, then I will start creating my dream projectTruth is, we are all the same. You won't create shit.
AI Hype is a bubble. What is being promised is always 'just a year away'. It's incredible tech but the progression has stagnated because of how its being approached. You can't brute force AGI. People will only continue throwing money at it if it keeps showing promise. Tell me why it feels like Elon is about to cuck AI companies that don't fall under his umbrella.
> spams Amazon with useless books> spams youtube with fake science videos> AI's potential to spy on people, but that's not art related> spams facebook with more bullshit than usual and boomers eat it upNot even normies like these.
>>7386208>What killed the hype? There was hype???People want a one click machine. When they realize they can't just one click to get what they want, interest dies. It's as simple as that.
>>7386666Checked and yes there was hype dude. Are you kidding me? Around the time NVIDIA blew up the AI hype was at an all time peak. It's tapered off because they've consistently underdelivered on all their promises so they its died down.
>>7386671For LLMs sure but art? I see that as every other trend that comes and goes. Something new comes out, they play with it, then they go play with something else.
>ai art
>aiholy fuck it's literally, unironically nothing but thirdies
>>7386208shitty fad, everyone realized it can only churn out the same generic elves, knights, and kittens eating grandmas. No creativity, no true control, no imagination.
>>7386208It's incredibly overused and more often than not it just looks like shit and gives off this feeling of incredible laziness/cheapness. As an example, if a company uses AI art in its ads, you just know they are cutting corners and that their product is some cheap chinese scam garbage. No one who actually cares about their product uses it
>artificial intelligence I thought the indian thing was a meme, but this shit is unironically a third world grift hoping to come into money without skills lmao
>>7386224Even normies see games using AI generated art as lazy half assed garbage. The barrier of entry is way too low.
AI generated has become synonymous with cheap and lazy. Such is the nature of supply and demand.
>>738620899% of the shit stable diffusion churns out is garbage, and the 1% that doesnt still needs retouchesIf you need to track down a new lora/model/img2img plugin for every small different thing you do, might as well just learn how to draw
>>7386208AI is boring that's all it is.It can't create anything new. Most of AI slop is just same shit all over gain.AI don't really understand what you want from it unless it's trained to do so.
>>7386208I used SD when it was new and you had to use the terminal to run it but after raping my GPU for a while i noticed that everything kinda looks like shit and that richard stallman would not approve of my behavior so i stopped.Instead i now doodle once in a blue moon and get demotivated for the next half year. Better than before but not much better.
Slop fatigue from all areas on the internet.>AI Art is spammed in mass quickly devaluing itself in the process.>Your Search engines can use incorrect AI overviews that you cannot turn off.>Every major website or platform has AI used in some form>Currates content so you're spammed with 20 videos/site recommendations after just watching 1 vid.>Job Applications, and HRs use AI in mass which is why the Job Market is an overall mess.>Instead of people talking over videos we now have deadpan AI voices doing it instead. We're in a lazy age that benefits no one and everyone wants to get out of it.
>>7386948AI is literally killing the internet. I question how much of the people I interact with on other sites are even real. Dead Internet Theory isn't a theory anymore. I try looking up videos now with keywords that used to work before and now I'm recommended 10 retarded AI generated slideshows with an AI generated voice over and AI generated comments. I have to scroll through the sea of shit to just find a video I wanted. Samsung implemented AI prediction into its texting and now if I try to type it constantly replaces my words if they're even remotely esoteric. Like yes it would have replaced esoteric with something like east with no regards for context, just predicting based off the lowest common denominator. The future is fucking gay. I want to get to the cool part already.
>>7386955there wont be a cool part. It will just keep getting more lame
>>7386955there is no cool part, we're skipping the part where capital holders need material industry to create more wealth and right into unlimited consooming, we're going full schizo dystopia from here on outremember that reddit version of a shadowban where you don't know you're banned because bots op vote and reply to your posts with vague platitudes to keep you from figuring out nobody can see anything you post?that will be not just the entire internet, but popular culture in generalget ready to live in a bubble of simulated interactions and opinions where powers that be just bombard you with nonexistent celebs, news and media and you have no ability to communicate with other people and deduce what's real, what's popular, what's even happening consider how much effort every industry is putting into manufacturing the perceived reception of their products, actors, musicians, politicians, etc how much effort is put into making the public believe the wars in ukraine/gaza/syria are going a certain way, fought in certain ways and preventing detracting information from reaching the population and then consider what the media sphere will look like when you can for all intents and purposes just supplant someone's entire world to make him buy what you want, vote for whom you want, believe what you wantyeah, you can invest massive resources into trying to get to some gay barren rock in space orrrrrr you can just create whatever environment you need right here for whatever you're supplying for a fraction of the investment
>>7386208I can't talk for everyone but I god bored of it in the span of a quick jerk off session so like 10 minutes. Novelty goes away real quick
>>7386995>>7386980See, I'm aware this is very much the future we're sprinting towards, but it's just a sweet nothing guys. Lemme have this. I have the rest of my life to live in the dystopian sea of slop, isolation and digital induced psychosis.
>>7386995i think you mean "heaven banning"?
>>7386208I guess now that there is so much AI art it's just about reached singularity and it's starting to use AI art as reference. So all of it just looks the same
>>7387004Singularity is a religion for atheists. What you're referring to is recursive learning. It's been referred to as inbreeding because it's degrading the quality of its output by training on itself. That's the issue that everybody is running into and they've deluded themselves into believing if they can throw billions at it that it will magically start hallucinating correctly.
>>7387004it's a common practice for text generation, but I doubt image gen does that, it wouldn't make much sense given how it worksbesides, datasets have gotten smaller if anything since corpos are trying to work around copyrighted material and laion is just getting sued and not releasing any expanded datasets afaik
>>7387007Yeah, I guess singularity isn't the best description of what's happening. But what I meant, it's just endlessly copying a copy of copy. Kinda like the game "broken telephone". You can see it starting to lose the "plot"
>>7387012If that process of inbreeding goes on for long enough it results in a model collapse. As much as the creators of AI would like to get away from the fact that they essentially stole data from everybody by training on synthetic data, they can't. They need a mix at best. They can't remove the human aspect and therefore the fact that they stole. It's no bueno as legislation is catching up to the shit show.
>>7386687The world is mostly thirdies you inbreed retard. Of course any list will contain more 3rd world countries than anything
>>7387042I hate india. simple as
>>7387042>thirdie iq>See in which location your term was most popular during the specified time frame. Values are calculated on a scale from 0 to 100, where 100 is the location with the most popularity as a fraction of total searches in that location, a value of 50 indicates a location which is half as popular. A value of 0 indicates a location where there was not enough data for this term.>Note: A higher value means a higher proportion of all queries, not a higher absolute query count. So a tiny country where 80% of the queries are for "bananas" will get twice the score of a giant country where only 40% of the queries are for "bananas".
>>7387042A google search being 9 times more likely to be about ai in Vietnam than Switzerland has absolutely nothing to do with the number of third world countries in the world, you mongoloid.
>>7387042uh oh, you got the /pol/cucks angry
>>7386687India is surprisingly low on that rank.
>>7387042...it's a ranking, not a list of all the countries in the world
>>7387042
>>7386995That's a cool dystopian novel concept anon but the "reality" is that we're living in that future of yours even before AI.The information you know is censored, hidden, cherry picked and gaslighted to a disgusting degree.History books are written by the winners and edited to make the winners look like good guys.I'm a filthy third worlder and recently there's been a bunch of documentaries on the most popular free channel about how AI is a good thing for society and how it's gonna benefit the common folk. Why would they show that? Because a lot of scum been using it in not so good ways if you know what I mean.Society here just hate it, specially old people and young women.

AI is great for stuff like this:Stupid things done in seconds instead of eating up a real artist's time. And there is an emerging craft in putting in prompts, setting up the parameters of where the AI can articulate what the humans are asking for. It's the precursor to the tools all artists will wield as alchemy was to chemistry:the traditional arts would exist, only aided by the technology. Imagine the Mona Lisa being painted with an AI controlled hover drone not merely videoing the process, but recreating it digitally with 99.9% accuracy.,ready for production and merchandising. Or anything else that it could be applied to. Look at the impact of computers, and smart phones. Instead of pigment, future painters are smearing a clear gel with the color reproduced on the digital canvas to simulate real paint that the AI replicates with real time 3D modeling. I would love an AI powered rpg based on my IP, with the story being spontaneously generated from the actions of the player, and often in spite of them, just like real life. But the NPCs would be entities with their own agendas, and each playthrough would be unique.
>>7386224Most libs hated it
>>7389012>AI is great for stuff like this: retarded word salad really made me think
>>7387007>they've deluded themselves into believing if they can throw billions at it that it will magically start hallucinating correctly. Not just that, they actually think this garbage is going to become God and magically solve all our problems forever. It’s both really funny and really sad.
>>7386948thank god for negative tags. boorus are unusable without them
>>7388994yeah using ai has increased my work time by a lot because i have to go back and clean up after it starts hallucinating a bunch of random stuff.
>nowadays almost everyone hates it, even non artists. You must live in some echo chamber or an alternative reality. Most people don't give a shit about whether the image on their screen is AI or not so long as they like it. Non-artists rarely even think about how the image got on their screen in the first place. Most people who got on the AI hysteria bandwagon fell off because they realized the world isn't ending and sky isn't falling and random pointy-haired bosses aren't replacing art departments. What's left is hyper-online screeching schizos and children who need to tie themselves to a cause to find identity, a sea of coomers looking for a quick fix, grifters who hope to make a quick buck, normies who just want to make a quick funny image or video, rare cases of digital artists and illustrators who just integrated in their process, as well as major studios who are moving ahead with trying out the tech. That is the utmost minority of the human population, hence the graph you see.Now go draw and stop making shitty attention-seeking threads.
>>7387007>It's been referred to as inbreeding because it's degrading the quality of its output by training on itself. That's the issue that everybody is running into and they've deluded themselves into believing if they can throw billions at it that it will magically start hallucinating correctly.Nobody sane is training models on their own outputs expecting novelty. Every case of training on other models' outputs that isn't braindead involves pre-selecting those that the new model is meant to skew towards. Where did you get the idea that corporations with billions at their disposal are wasting time on this instead of just procuring original datasets?
>>7389436Fuck off and kill yourself, tourist.
>>7389436lol dilate, seething troon
>>7386208As someone who thinks AI is cool (sometimes)It's a combination of so much:>AI is a crapshoot. For every 1 decent gen you see, there's hundreds of bad gens that were rejected. >AI is already oversaturatedThis is a huge one. You cannot fucking search for anything without bumping into AI shit. Yes, I uploaded all 6546 of my (futanari, one_girl, raiden_shogun), no, I won't go through for quality. Seriously, rule34 already has almost a million AI images. And remember, these are only the ones TAGGED.>AI devalues work— including the work it was supposed to elevate. Good art is a mark of quality and effort, but since you can now generate "good enough" at the click of a button, high quality art is no longer a marker of quality. You look at all of it, and it's the same krenz+chinese artist+(((masterpiece, score_9))) shit over and over and over and over...>AI is synonymous with scamming. The worst thing about cool tech, is that it inevitably gets into the hands of scammers. AI voice cloning, better catfishing, fake artists, etc, etc. It all makes AI look worse and worse. For a regular person, AI might be a fun distraction, but to the opportunistic, it's perhaps too much reward for too little. There's probably more to be said, but it really boils down to the last point. Cunts who should not have AI, have access to AI.

there's somehow so much more AI slop online than there was 2 years ago and i see even less of it now. the only slop i see these days are variations of that wizard cat, that one dancing cat that was made ages ago and the incomprehensibly large amount of porn, which makes sense since AI porn literally the pinnacle of impulsive excess, but still very little outside of those three things unless it's something that's obviously low quality. even the local boomer businesses here avoid AI because every time they wanna use a photo, they want to use a local one to promote local models, businesses, locales, etcit's unfortunate that the fad still exists but I hope it ends soon specifically because there's a lot of AI upscaled shit going online that turns the original images into unintelligible garbage
>>7391153>but still very little outside of those three things unless it's something that's obviously low quality.wow i mistyped this hard, I mean that I see very very few businesses and products using AI and the ones that do are very low quality. The only "high quality" AI out there is porn

I'm sure someone said it but what is killing AI is AI pollution all through the net. Remember "The Most Profound Moment in Gaming"? MGS2 predicted that there would be so much noise that we'd need AI for truth? Looks like it's the other way around, the AI is producing so much slop and it's third worlders trying to scrape pennies off of every social media site that it has become a nuisance. They need to ban AI off of every platform simply because of the absolute nonsensical trash it produces. New artists are hard to come by when you have to sift through generic slop after generic slop. I seriously can't believe that these art sites allow this slop on their board do they not see how it's hurting it? There's also AI wordpress slop which uses SEO to give you viruses it's starting to be a worst infestation than the bots imo

The fact that most AI companies are just grifters and open source AI being dead aint helping either.
lol2/10
I think it's getting less popular but I don't think it's getting less use. Anime companies already spent millions to perfect the technology for productions, and it'd be undeniable to say that AI hasn't taken work away from many artists already in the form of commissions. Sure, some people still care to commission an artist, but there's a percentage of people happy with the slop AI produces. They're also taking engagement away and saturating most art tags in social media. I'm not really scared of AI making art obsolete, but I do worry that once AI keeps getting better, it'll be able to create infinite amounts of content. That's going to create a subset of the population (the lowest common denominator, but still) that just consumes AI art.
