I've been using a tablet for a month, I thing I've gotten used to but I'd like to ask when should you replace your nibs. What sensation (if any) are you "looking for" or how do you know it's time to replace them?
>>
>>7424149
It's normal to not be able to notice a difference in feel right away, so you should look at them. And buy one of those cheap 50, 100 packs

I want to replace the LCD of my Samsung Tab S6 Lite (2020 version), should I just go to the Samsung service center or look for OEM/aftermarket part (since they're cheaper)?
>>
>>7424349
There's no harm done in going to the Samsung service center and ask. If they're not trying to scam you into buying a new one like the apple niggers or the price is unreasonable then I'd go with them
>>
>>7424349
The cost of the screen is going to be almost as much as just buying a new one. The s6 lite is like $150-200, I'm guessing at an absolute minimum for a screen that won't suck you're looking at $100 to fix it. Not worth it for a 2 generations outdated budget tablet.

According to this note from December, all brands of graphic tablets, including Wacom itself, are crap, Wacom is expensive and some models have no support and many things have to be bought separately, Huion has problems with the drivers and the materials are poor, feeling cheap, XP-Pen has precision problems on some tablets.

How is the Wacom One 13? i have a s6 lite that began slowing down so i was thinking of selling it and buying the wacom one, though maybe id get an Intuos Pro M from 2017 that i found at 60 bucks
how good are these tablets?
>>
>>7425202
The wacom one sucks ass. I think all 13" desktop tablets suck, but if you're gonna get one, the xppen artist pro 14 gen 2 is probably the best in that category.
16" is where I think you stop feeling cramped woth desktop software though
>>
>>7425206
thanks for the input, found an artist pro 15.6 at 200 bucks, ill ask what Gen
the gen thing fucks up my searches where i live since most sellers just dont write the specs or detailed model names so i just rely on marketplace since i can ask
>>
>>7425221
>the gen thing fucks up my searches
yeah, doesn't help that literally every tablet manufacturer sucks dick at naming their products.
a simple
>brand, product line, size, model year/generation
is all I want, but they keep introducing new stupid shit to fuck it up.

from my experience, last gen (pre 2023) xppen was kinda bad, the ones I tried had inaccurate pens and really horrible contrast ratios that no amount of calibration fixed. They also didn't come standard with etched glass which I think is a huge step in tablet tech.
Huion's plus and pro lines from 2021-present all had etched glass I believe as well as their pen tech 3.0 (pw517 and pw550} which was a big step up from pw507.
Things I would suggest looking for would be 16" or bigger, etched glass because screen protectors wear out and need to be replaced, and either pentech 3.0 or newer for huion, or x3 smart chip pens for xppen. I would suggest stuff for wacom as well, but chances of finding anything without a screen protector on a budget is basically 0%.

I need help from the experts, why can't I draw as well in the digital tablet? why do I spend more than 1 hour correcting problems that in traditional I don't have? because drawing in digital gives me a feeling of being lost, the construction lines don't make sense, mentally I can't see the image either. Is it the angle of the tablet? is it the sensitivity of the pencil? is it that it has no texture or friction? canva zoom?

>my cheapass huion is breaking down and isn't registering pressure anymore no matter what I do
I mean I bought it cheap so I get it but uhh, replacement time.
I have an issue, I can buy the deco pro M/W gen 1 for a huge discount currently or the deco pro gen 2 for $60 more. Is gen 2 worth the $60 upgrade? I heard the wireless version of the gen 1 is pretty damn good with none of the sensitivity issues so I don't know if it's worth dropping a bit more for the 2nd gen. Is it a big upgrade?
>>
>>7427725
I got the Gen 2 and been satisfied with my purchase, never had a Gen 1 but from my research it's only an incremental upgrade, so if you are stingy over 60 bucks then just get the Gen 1, you're not gonna lose out on much. I personally consider the moving of the hotkeys from the tablet to the included remote to be a downgrade of the Gen 2 so that's something to consider. With the Gen 1 you don't need to worry about the remote, it's all on the tablet.
>>
>>7428173
Thank you I am a bit stingy and if the 2nd gen is not that much of an upgrade I will jump on the 2021 1st gen model with wireless. I like the design more personally but wanted to know if there was a big difference.

There are times where I think about buying a new tablet, or even a screen tablet. I got an intuos 4 M from 2010 that i use to this day, and an ipad for the "screen tablet" however, every time I'm like "Yeah, maybe I'll replace my intuos" I end up using it again, and never disappointed.
Am I wrong to think about replacing my intuos? I do know that sometimes I may need to switch to a screen tablet, so having both might be good, but so far, I haven't gotten to a problem like that. I know a common thing would be "If you're comfortable, keep it" but is there anything else?
>>
>>7432059

Does it work with the latest driver? Or does it need a specific old ass driver for it to work? I sold mine 3 years ago but I know the pen for this tablet is really good. But at that time it doesn't really work well with CSP for some reason.
>>
>>7432078
No driver issues, it works as it did from back then
>>
>>7432078
>>7432082
Oh yeah, I like the pen. I've even gotten one of these thicker grips for it, but the default one does not bother me. I've checked compatibility with the newer pens to try with this old tablet, but none of them work, so I'm stuck with this old pen, but I don't even know if this pen would work with the new ones. It is good, changing it would be kind of odd.
I guess that also introduces a new issue, if I do get a new screen tablet, I can't just hop to the screen tablet to do one specific line on-screen, then back to sitting straight and working on the piece upright with a single pen. I gotta get BOTH tablets... Though, I wonder if there would be other reasons.

I decided to spend all of my money on the iPad Air M2 for $500. The only thing is, since I spent all of my money on the tablet, I have no money to buy the Apple Pencil Pro. In the meantime I’ve been using a bootleg Apple Pencil that I had around the house, but it’s awful to draw on. The tip is something like picrel… it’s a metal cylinder but it’s even worse than the picture. And sometimes when drawing the pen doesn’t even draw or it’s super inaccurate. Are there any other styluses that work with the iPad and are pressure sensitive?

Apparently the Apple Pencil Pro was discounted at $90 on Amazon at one point, but I have no idea when that’ll happen again.

The pencil pro and 2nd gen pencil support some Air generations too
The biggest advantage of the pro is the size because everyone appreciates more room to draw but apple also buttfucks you with confusing compatibility and selective pen support

your best bet is probably a 2nd hand surface pro 7. There aren't any new windows tablets that work well for drawing in your price point. The only ones made specifically for drawing are things like the kamvas studio 16 ($1500) and a brand I've never heard of but saw good reviews for the lincstudio s1 ($1000). Wacom has the mobilestudio pro but it's like 5(?) years outdated now.

Now that I've owned my screen tablet for over 3 years and the warranty has worn off, I am still not detecting any damage on the nib or on the tablet itself. I never used a screen protector either. Just got a Huion Gen 3. This shit is straight bussin no cap. I love being able to draw on a screen. Feels lik I can draw twice as fast as on paper, and four times as fast as on screenless.
Plus it's relatively way cheap.
>>
Hard to recommend a dedicated screen tablet right now for beginners when android tablets have gotten good and cheap. Even iPad is a good and affordable platform now. For the price you can get a basic screen tablet, you can get a higher resolution, android or iPad that might have a slightly worse pen but can do much more other than draw.
>>
>>7437193
Feels like small and medium display tablets are on the way out.
Nothing will ever match drawing on a 20 or 30 inch screen but an android tablet can easily replace anything smaller, yeah a 12 inch tablet isn't a 16 inch display but with the amount of screen space you save by running apps designed for those screens it feels a lot bigger than it is.
>>
Between Huion and Xp-Pen, which one has the better screenless options? Do either one make a touch capable tablet or is wacom the only real option for that?

Xp pen Magic drawing pad is overpriced for the specifications for an android tab and doesn't have tilt.
>>
>>7437801
Specs are mostly irrelevant and tilt is a meme that virtually no one uses. Etched glass and real pens make it a very unique entry into tablet world. The only things that come close are the very few windows standalone for 4x the price
>>
>>7437812
>Specs are mostly irrelevant and tilt is a meme
No they're not. You can get a higher resolution tablet with more memory for cheaper. Those impact the experience. People use tilt.
>>
>>7437818
They really don't, and most people don't.
I've spent probably 300 hours drawing with mine so far and haven't had performance ever be an issue.
Maybe if you're some kind of faggot that uses it for playing games?
>>
>>7437822
Don't use your anecdotal experience. The specs matter. Higher res is more detail and more ram equals more layers etc.

In 2025, I'm pretty sure most people don't care about Android tablets/iPads at all. They use smartphones and laptops/desktops and don't need anything in between.
>>
>>7437824
Okay, nodraw. Keep jacking it to a spec sheet, I'm gonna continue actually drawing.
A comic I made was like 3000x5000 300 dpi and over 250 layers, still worked fine.
>>
>>7437831
I've used 16kx6k resolution. 8gb isn't enough. I can do that on a cheaper tablet with more ram and a better screen.

Good for you you like your magic drawing pad though for all it's shortcomings. Don't know why you're so aggressive defending it, imposing your projections on people.
>>
>>7437836
>16kx6k resolution
Yeah, you're very much so an outlier, literally no mobile tablet will be adequate for that with a lot of layers, and virtually no one else draws things that big.
8gb is enough for 99% of use cases, and is what most tablets offer short of $900+ offerings.
>>
>>7437842
Actually there are 12gb tablets cheaper than the xp pen. And, again, it's not just that the xp pen can do it but other tablets exist that are cheaper than it that also can, sometimes even better. So again the xp pen is overpriced and still has no tilt.
>>
>>7437845
Etched glass is more important for a drawing tablet than more ram. Tilt isn't a feature most people use.
This post feels like dejavu
>>
>>7437848
>Etched glass is more important for a drawing tablet than more ram.
Disputable. That's also pretty much the only thing the xp pen has going for it and can be remedied with a matte screen protector. Other people might opt for more ram, a better screen and processor, tilt, build quality, support etc.
>>
>>7437851
A desktop tablet quality pen and etched glass are pretty massive for drawing feel.
Screen protectors wear out and need to be replaced, and even if you get a galaxy tab with a wacom one pen, it's a shit tier entry level pen with bad IAF.
You should be hoping more companies make competing products actually designed for artists, not shunning the only art tablet to enter an otherwise untapped market.

I chill xp-pen because i know is cheap and reliable and outside of price and size i dont think these tablets have a difference aside from materials. just buy what is on your budget and stick to xp-pen, wacom and ipad if you can afford it.

TL;DR: no one on this thread has draw a single thing in the last 4 years aside from the goblin dude and it shows. next time you gonna talk about a tablet post your art with it or your opinion is invalid.

Galaxy tabs and magic drawing pad, yes.
If you're fine with ios, any ipad compatible with an apple pencil will work.
If you want windows, your options open up a little with surface pros, kamvas studios, wacom mobile studios (they stopped making them years ago, but they're still capable), or supposedly some other brand Brad colbow mentions in a review that makes a surface pro clone but with etched glass.
If you want to be extremely frustrated and fight against your shitty tools rather than have them work with you, throw a dart at this list >>7438738 and embrace suffering for no reason.
There's a galaxy tab in basically every price bracket so it makes no fucking sense to get anything but whats mentioned above just so you can spank your dick to a spec sheet.
It costs money to have a good digitizer and pen compatibility, so obviously tablets without those things can either have better specs at the same price point, or the same specs at a lower price point.

It would be like comparing an asus proart and any drawing tablet and saying to get the asus because it has better specs, ignoring that you can't actually draw on it.

you guys know if getting a standalone tablet for drawing is worth it?
I don't like it when people walk in on me drawing, it's honestly an intimate moment where I feel insecure, so usually I only draw when I know no one will be around.
It's easy to watch anime though cause I can just close my computer when someone comes in.
right now my set up are some plastic tub containers in front of my futon which hold my laptop and wacom drawing tablet.
I'm pretty conflicted. I don't want to get something expensive and worthless.

Pen performance is pretty good with Android tabs now. Lenovo Tab P11 Pro's pen (Precision Pen 2) is accurate enough for WACOM AES (and MPP) as an example. Later models with Lenovo LPP are also decent.

Saying the only Android tablets for drawing are Galaxy and XP PEN is just inaccurate, bad advice. The XP Pen Magic drawing pad doesn't even have tilt which is ironic consider the tablet designed for drawing is the one that doesn't have a practically standard feature everyone else has.

hi anon
yeah this is one of the worst threads on this board constantly filled with bad information, it's pretty gross.
my stance is just buy something and draw, none of this matter. almost any tablet made by a popular tablet brand in 2025 is fine. just don't get a huion slate 10, thing is fucking trash.
if these guys spent as much time drawing as they do with console wars: tablet edition, they would probably be pros by now

Sup, im using my intuos 3 a4. I have an ipad, but i just hate drawing on a sceen.
But the pen is slowl falling apart, everything is loos and the nib starts loosing sensitivity ive started getting pressure skips.
I took it already apart, tried to fix it, it helped for some time but now its worse then it was.
What should i do, is any of the newer pens compatible with the intus 3?
Is there a modern screen less tablet with a sleek work space without any texture?
All the new ones have this stupid texture. For fuck sake i dont wont to die from a micro plastic overdose.
