Do you agree?
The style and details are so beautiful, you can really tell the artists were skilled and put effort into it.
Compared to nowadays, everything is either digitally made, AI made, or an excuse for art (like when they randomly throw paint into a canvas or any other nonsense).
I specially like art from ancient times, it's like travelling back in time.

The picture you chose exemplifies technical skill, sure, but it's not exactly aesthetically stimulating to me.

You had more involvement from mentors who gave enough of a shit to see you carry the torch; artists were very tight knit, and you always knew somrone who knew soneone who knew someone - this created a very strong, hierarchal network of support and skillful growth, and this is ultimately what you did to survive.

Nowdays this more or less exists, but in the diaspora of illustrative styles, there are varying skill ceilings - very few are at the level of the golden age, since there is very little demand for it. No count, duke, or mysterious benefactor is going to buy your 10ft x 10ft painting of a beautiful lady in silken repose they want child porn now.

Besides, what really is there to chronicle? We live in a time where the wonan in OP would be selling her shitfart britches on onlyfans.

I don't disagree, only a midwit disagrees, but you are on the retard low iq end of the "Objectively correct opinion shared by retards and high iq people" such as myself whom is on the other end.

Sonic underground was PEAK
>>
yes, pre-modern art tended to be better and its artists more skilled. this makes sense though, given:
>the democratization of education
>the ever-increasing lack of religiosity and other traditional values
>the industrial revolution (mass production, rise of capitalism, etc.)
>the rise of social media (instant gratification, atomization of groups/seclusion)
with the advent of AI there's only going to be more and more slop, so hold onto your rear ends, kids
>>
I prefer Baroque artists but to each their own.

Maybe. Also maybe people cared less or didn't care at all about physical exercises back then; the standards were different.
IMO her body is good, she doesn't look fat, only out of shape.

>t. midwit historylets
depicting women with visible collarbones was uncouth, much like men with large cocks in classical greece
notice how the default way to paint women from the renaissance to late 19th century was no collarbone and massive rounded traps
>>
Yes and most of them had hundreds of finished paintings and thousands of drawings. With some even leaving over a thousand finished works

I was wondering if anyone cares to have professional reproductions ($$$) or just prints of some arts. I was looking at picrel and was curious if it matters to anyone
>>
>>7429668
You can get reproductions pretty cheaply. The're made in China. I got one for my sister a while ago.
