Maybe you can help me with this OP.
Why does the area inside the red circle look so odd?
>>
>>7426570
not OP but damn that arm posing is too good dawg. Here's how I would construct that pose if I was you.

Can someone please demonstrate how the pec wraps around at this angle? And also that whole area with the bicep / tricep insertion and lats showing from behind is very tricky to nail down.

It seems like the problem was just a lack of 3d thinking, she looks way better now. Thanks!

Glad to hear that! it was a pain to make them look half-decent without ref lol

You got some good advice already. I don't think its too bad to be honest. Most of my gripes are about stylistic and linework-based:

Main issue is you're overlining and overcomplicating shadow shapes in the abdomen area. In cartoon styles, SIMPLICITY is king. Like im not sure if she's supposed to be pudgey or thin. Its the same reason why you'll only see upper lips being lined in very specific cases, like bimbos. Lines draw attention in the same way a dark shadow will. You should use them sparingly in this style.

Also, the form around the thigh (legwear rim) throws it of a lot. Fixed that. Might be the most important component to your question.

Dunno if it helps, like I said, it wasnt that bad to begin with.

Way better. Her original stomach looked like a 60 year old womans...or a furry dinosaur butthole.

Thanks for the advice regarding the style, I'll definitely look into using fewer lines and more shadows. It's interesting what you did with her stomach too, it's eye opening as to how much more appealing it is.
I'm still at odds with her left thigh though, even >>7426645 is starting to look strange but idk, maybe it's just me.

I havent studied pecs in a while. My intuition has it like this.

Its 3 strips of muscle that narrow as they insert on the humerus (upper arm bone) close to the shoulder, almost in line with the male nipple.
They kind of TWIST over each other - or at least thats how I remember it - to cover the range of motion of the arm.

Honestly, its difficult to understand pecs without understanding the lats and deltoid muscles and the clavicle and scapula bones as well as the ribs (in part). They all work together. You also have to learn the insertion points of the muscles involved, not necessarily by name, but get a general sense of where they start and end.

Finally, I'd advise doing press ups or bench press. Exercise will boost your knowledge of anatomy, because you will learn how you're muscles and tendons feel (and hurt!) under tension. Its EXTREMELY helpful.

The black shading on the third pic is meant to show the overlapping as they insert UNDERNEATH the deltoid (cyan) and between the 2 biceps heads, but thats for you to research. You can do it!

NW, Im looking pecs up now, it seems my intuition is far from perfect, so take this as a starting point only. Do the reading, it'll be worth it.

>>7426673
Also no worries. For the thigh, the only thing I can say with certainty is that the thigh-highs rim being off - which it certainly is - will have a big impact as it marks the the cross-section of the form.
Otherwise, you'll have to be a bit more specific about whats weird in your eyesthan if you want a better answer. Perhaps find a similar pose reference to deconstruct.

As I said before, its not that bad for what it is, just thought I'd give some tips for future improvement. Good luck.

I think the main issue is it's a bad reference to learn from. It's overexposed and has some weird hues from the environment. Starting with a gray background is killing you.

The eyes are an incorrect shape. Oyurs are turned up at the bottom while the reference has more of a flat resting shaoe.
Nose bridge too prominent, the inner lid of the right eye should come out more.
Ears too big, no attention to the hair, but I assuming you intended on revising those bits later since they're only really blocked out.

Finally found some motivation to draw again, and it went surprisingly well (for my standards at least) until I reached the hat and face.
I don't know how to fix the shading. I've redone both at least 7 times each. I'd be extremely grateful for some guidance.
Also something feels off about the eyes, but I can't put my finger on it.

More than red lining I would like a second opinion, how is the left hand (the one behing) looking? I know this pose is possible because I did it myself, I just want to know what someone else thinks.
