jokes aside you do draw boxes right??
>>
>>7437849
Is Minecraft good ref for boxes?
>>
>>7437933
No, the perspective is wrong due to engine limitations.
If you use Minecraft for your boxes no one will say anything but they'll all know what you did.
>>
>>7437936
>he cant correct the perspective with his mind while drawing from minecraft
absolutely under no circumstances in no way shape or form are you EVER gmi
>>
>>7437950
The perspective aint even wrong, anon is very much ngmi
>>
I still can't believe basic perspective is "the great filter" like fuck I get it, it isn't as easy as microwaving a hot pocket, but it ain't fuckin rocket science. How did such a simple tool buck break millions?
>>
>>7437985
I really don't get it either. It's not even a thing you have to do on vibes. It's literally like a step-by-step checklist, how can you possibly fuck that up so badly.
>>
>>7437991
For technical drawings or maybe characters interacting with objects in a scene I guess I can see how the perspective fucks people up, such as tables that are 8ft tall and doors that a cat wouldn't fit into, but even just simple shit like making sure the white-void-anime-girl is completely congruent with all her body parts in the same perspective is filtering people. Baffling.
>>
>>7437985
Try drawing something that isn't a box.

>Doesn't immediately intuit that "the box" is a generalized, easy to digest stand in for any object that takes up space and is supposed to help /beg/s understand XYZ space and planes
Unironically NGMI, now pyw

How can it be wrong? If anything it's the correctly-calculated linear perspective compared to photos and your eyes.

This, one time I studied using minecraft boxes. People found out immediately. They still call me the "minecraft box guy" to this day. Don't let it happen to you

Holy shit it's minecraft box guy
>>
>>7438192
Bullshit the other guy specifically said "nobody will say anything." You're a phony and don't even draw boxes.

>>
>>7437985
perspective has to be hard. If it wasn't then all of drawing would be easy. Its not natural for humans to be able to reproduce perspective. Our eyes filter and warp a lot for our brains to understand what we're seeing.
>>
>>7437849
I don't understand the purpose. I can draw the Platonic ideal of a box floating in space, but what is that supposed to help me achieve? Maybe it would be different if I perceived the boxes to have an interior or form in general, but I can't view them as anything but a smattering of lines that form a clever illusion.
>>
>>7438355
Love the use of such limited color palette, my favorite element is got to be the tower on the left (second picture) love the use of stripped logs as supporting beams as well as the stable at the bottom, I never thought about integrating my livestock build into the main house itself

okay you didnt ask for this one but im kind of proud of this so here
still unfinished howeverthoughbeit

it's boring as fuck, here's your answer. i don't get how you can make studying perspective fun in any capacity for anyone that isn't hyperautistic
>>
>>7439388
i like the shape not so much the block choise, i feel like the texture is to noisey when used for the roofs
>>
>>7439489
Why would you have to study perspective? What is there to even study? 'Thing get small when go far away' isn't exactly a lot to memorize. Nor is 'line go to point'.

what else would you do to understand it except study? excuse me, but shit like this isn't exactly intuitive. not to my right-sided brain at least.
>>
>>7439617
Honestly the fact that it filters people is hilarious to me. Most of my primary school art class was able to grasp this shit when the teacher made us learn it
>>
>>7440556
Yeah, but it's a simple trick. There's not much to grok there.

Pick a random point on the horizon and use it to project the surface you want to divide onto a line that can be measured with a ruler, project your measurements back, boom, you can now measure proportions in perspective.

Do it once, and you've got it. 5 min lesson.
Not really something that's paramount to know anyway. Don't need to go past vanishing points if you don't want to.

the god of perspective has spoken. Just don't ask him to point you to this five minute lesson...
>>
>>7440634
If there's something you're not understanding feel free to ask. This really should be a one and done kind of thing. If it's not, you're probably missing something important.

How ? I don’t understand this, how to draw cubes in a rotation from different sides?
>>
>>7440653
Perspective is not a one-time crap, it is a problem that will filter you out and you will forever spit on the idea of drawing. If you can’t draw boxes in perspective, that means you can’t draw people’s figures in perspective, etc.

tldr; there are certain points in the scene where the angle you can measure with a protractor is the same as the angle in perspective. You can use these to get angles to get precise, measurable angles to vanishing points to draw things accurately from whatever angle you want. Read Chapter 2 of Scott Robertson's How to Draw.

The real-real answer, is don't worry about it. Just make a grid and guess based on the grid. No one cares if your perspective is slightly off.
>>
A big part of perspective that filters prebegs is that people use terms like "any angle" as if it were automatic so PBs grind and then get frustrated when they can't draw simple perspectives of titmonsters or whatever, forgetting the fact that you actually need to have a 360 degree memory of the things you want to draw in perspective.
>>
>>7441484
I dunno, people struggle with boxes too. Not even cubes, just dimensionless boxes.
