How does it happen? Is art one of those skills where you're just never able to hit a coasting point with it? Is it just animation specifically: I.e could a sculptor feasibly retire with a niche list of clientele?

NEVER.

How did she even land that full creative control at age 25? Can't she just redo whatever she did?

IIRC it was a right place, right time sort of deal. Studio was shopping around new ideas and specifically did not want any men or industry old heads so they could advertise having an all-female production. In walks Raye who had been trying to shop around her high school fantasy story and OCs ever since she started art college.

I understand the schadenfreude at what I assume is a tranny, but this is happening across the board. >>7451903
because literal jews made it so you can't get investments without scoring high enough on their diversity rating
another thing is that flops actually make money due to tax write offs, it was common practice for hollywood studios to dump a stinker on purpose at the end of the fiscal year to pay less taxes
>>
>>7451903
Because the people running these companies have no creative talent or the foresight to let creative talent cook. They're incapable of seeing pay this week's metrics. People were willing to accept some gay shit like ru paul coming back and a couple fag movies doing well back so everyone rushed to not be the last to get their fag show on the air. Hollywood executives are so giving dumb they need the entirety of the planet telling them to tone it down before they actually tone it down.
>>
>>7451911
>>7451919
Yeah. I also think it's a case of the inmates running the asylum. The suits and number-crunchers don't know how to do the actual work of making stuff, and they entrust it to graduates of universities who are almost all brainwashed into the most insufferable faggotry about pronouns, microaggressions, etc. So the lunatics are literally in charge, and if/when the higher-ups try to rein them in, they threaten walk-outs, lawsuits and other such actions that take a toll both financially and in terms of bad PR.

The one in OP's post's case is 100% case of a DEI hire or more specifically a favouritism. It's about who she knows. A 25 years old should NOT be given a showrunner role unless she had successfully directed a show before. In actuality this might also be the case of the show was actually directed by a commitee and she's in there only to fill in the role, like many movies nowadays with directors with barely any title to their credit.

Material manufacturing and production were shipped across the ocean. The economy is based on national debt and more and more complex financial tools. The whole market at the core of empire is made up. Profit is no longer derived from the sale of actual goods and services, it comes from the financial structures and scaffolding holding up the tattered shack of the American Dream. We don’t make anything anymore. Without a material base, you can’t have an entertainment industry that makes money. Animation is just another investment tool for groups like black rock. Every entrepreneur is just another customer for the banks. Every person is just an internet serf producing for their digital landlords when they aren’t producing for the boss man. America makes nothing but data on little screens. Why are you expecting to have financial security in a world on the verge of collapse? China still needs a few hundred years before it can save humanity, and i bet five dollars someone will hit the button before that can happen. And in the end, do you think drawing anime tiddies professionally would really change anything?

by the time this person was at school, american animation was already falling off. Competition from youtube and videogames killed tv, including cartoons. I too was thinking of joining animation but saw the writing on the walls and did illustration instead. Just like every other sector, be it tech or engineering ro whatever, you have to be realistic about your goals and try to predict what the market is gonna be like in a decade.
You can make it as a visual artist in the influencer sphere pretty well. Just be fun and draw consistently. But animation? Not really.

For decades art schools have been a game of telephone, where the only teachers are either drop outs, or graduates who didn't make it as artists falling back on an easy job, and teaching mediocrily to the next generation who'll also become shit teachers.
Only thing that works besides self-teaching is finding an actual good artist willing to mentor you directly.

Lots of great artists during the heyday of newspaper illustration and comics learned from books and correspondence courses (like the Famous Artists Course). I've worked in a factory with an engineering station on the plant floor right next to me, and they were just sitting there 90% of the time, it was only when a turbine needed replacing or a new machine was being installed that they were really working the whole shift.

Animation died when its champions decided to revolt against everything that makes life beautiful. Try not spiting all of creation with your mental gymnastics and perhaps your work will be a tad more relatable.
That's the purpose of animation by the way. Animate: to bring to life.
