Now after gettin a One By Wacom I realize how ass the Deco 01's pen was, FUCK your pressure levels and express keys man the pen should be number 1 priority. It's funny, now I was looking at the homepage for the Intuos and One by Wacom to see if they ever mention IAF or something similar and they don't, but fuckin XP does it on the Deco Pro Gen 2.

has anyone here broken a pro pen 3 yet? i was considering a movinkpad but the pro pen 3 posts on the wacom subreddit and some posts on xitter are kind of worrying me
I've had a Tab S6 Lite for like 3 years now and it's fine for my usecase. That said, I've always noticed that the lines wobble a little if I try to make slow straight lines (I've even tried it with a ruler to make sure), or it might "cut" a line if I press too lightly. It's not a huge issue but it's still slightly annoying every now and then.Does this still happen in the Tab S9? If the drawing has some improvements in these things, I might consider the upgrade.
>>7686091its reddit, everyone is a young fat degenerate fuck so it makes sense that old degenerate fucks "in the industry" that also frequent reddit have broken their pensyes the pens are plastic, no they're not low quality enough to just break just for fucking drawing
>>7682586Any recommended alternative pens for the galaxy s6 lite 2024?I broke mine on accident.
>>7687562staedtler pens have a soft rubbery tip that's both much better than the s-pen one and with much better activation force, you dont need a screen protector for themif you want to use a screen protector, grab a wacom one pen which has a hard plastic nib
>>7682586I had a wacom intuos, can't remember the name of the model, but it was one of those cheap ones, screenless and small.I had it for like 10 years, it served me well, it was shitty but I learned everything about art using it.Last year (slightly more than a year by now) I bought a Huion Kamvas Pro 24 4k, and it has been great. I took a gamble, because I had read these threads many years ago, shitting on Chinese tablets, but it has been great so far, genuinely don't know why I didn't upgrade sooner, everything in my art has improved, and everything is much faster. My biggest criticisms so far are: 1.There's no "easy" way to change between screen mode back to screenless, you have to unplug the cable and plug it again for it to work, and every time I do it I feel like I'm slowly ruining the connection and it will lead to huge problems in a couple years. I hope I'm wrong.2. For the past week I've been having this problem with the drivers, it appeared out of nowhere, in which the pen sensitivity is fucked/not working properly, so every time I turn on my PC I've been having to reinstall the drivers for it to work properly.Have no idea what has been causing it, but tbf it could be my fault, I pirated a bunch of new software over the last 6 months, and I'm pretty certain that my PC has a virus at this point as I keep hearing a notification that appears to have no source, so wouldn't be surprised something related to that is what's causing it.Definitely worth the buy tho, really haven't thought once that I would have rather bought a Wacom one instead, the slight improvements that the Wacom version would have had really aren't worth the extra money. And it has been really easy to maintain, no scratches so far, and the pen tips (both of them) feel great.
Never tested for wobble actually. Here it is at three angels with the first ones being as perpendicular as i could hold it. No smoothing or anything. How much would you pay for a 14 inch like this?
>>7687758>How much would you pay for a 14 inch like this?$0
>>7683542Long time Linux user here. Started around 2012. This is sort of a complicated issue so I'll start by saying this:When it's good it's really, really good. It feels as fast and as smooth as it does to draw on windows. Sometimes even better. HOWEVER, this is not a consistent experience. You need to do a lot of research. For example, let's say you have a modern graphics tablet with buttons. Will they work? Probably not straight out of the box. You'll probably need to get the digimend kernel (assuming you're using a Debian based OS), then you'll need to make a config file so it'll actually store your settings, and depending on what desktop environment you're using you might not have access to all of them. You will spend so much time troubleshooting, reading forums, guides, and watching youtube tutorials to do the most basic shit. Artists are constantly second class citizens and our concerns are constantly ignored because most devs don't drawAnd haven't upgraded past their wacom bamboo or intuos (not the pro, the beginner version).I don't want to scare you off, but you should know what you're getting yourself into. It has been getting better, but it's still not as easy as it is on windows. If you really wanna try making art on Linux, look up David revoy's blog. He's been using Linux and FOSS only since 2009, and has plenty of guides and tutorials that have saved me personally. Definitely make that your first stop.
Could someone that has the Intuous Pro tablet comment on how the surface texture changes after a while? Does it affect your drawings and your lines at all? it looks like it's mostly just a lost of texture in some areas without really affect anything else.

I wish there was a tablet that's a combination of the ipad pro and galaxy tab. I have both and I love the openness of android compared to apple's walled garden, but I prefer the form factor of the ipad. The extra real estate on the galaxy tab is nice and all but it's honestly too big and the aspect ratio sucks for anything that isn't media consumption.
>>7689011could you not get, umm, a smaller one?
>>7689013Pretty sure the smaller one has the same aspect ratio. I like the Ipad's 4:3 aspect ratio better. Also I'm not really a fan of Samsung's bloat so my ideal device would be stock android.
>>7689033Did you consider the mdp or movinkpad? 3:2 is a better ratio for art than 16:10 and you get stock android (and an actual real digitizer)
Just bought the HUION Inspiroy 2 Large, did I fuck up? Not sure if I want to get into this hobby so the price tag was appealing
Does it matter much if a tablet is bluetooth or wired?

There's something on the bottom of the fucking hole where the nib goes and no matter how much I shake it, the thing doesn't come out. Here's a visual example of the thing right now. What can I use to pull whatever it is inside out?
>>7693854my take:dim as fuck oled screenuses regular tablet glass so horrible for drawing unless you use a rubber pen like the s-pen which also sucks and is low qualityuses old school wacom emr so it only supports up to wacom one pen techhas less options for reputable screen protectors with textureany screen protector with texture obviously ruins the screen image qualitythe ipad digital artist ecosystem only grows every year bigger and android shrinks (it never started)the iPad Pro's nano texture invalidates the Galaxy Tab as an art device imo, Samsung was already fumbling at a content consumption level but having an iPad with a Cintiq-like glass texture is the final nail in the coffin, if the upcoming M5 releasing in Fall opens up the texture to the cheaper models it's GG for Tabs when it comes to art, we already know everything about the S11/Ultras and theyre a garbage update
>>7696340and if it wasnt obvious enough then yes, the movinkpad 11 and xppen are absolutely 10 times better DRAWING devices than the current galaxy tabs and should be a priority for anyone actually interested in them just for artthe digital tablet market for artists has 2 established price brackets now: Wacom-ish Android tablets and Nano Texture iPad Pros
>>7696172uuh vacuum cleaner maybe? how did you even end up in that situation? pulled out the nib in a sandstorm?
>>7696340>>7696345The moveink looks really tempting the only downside is that the ram is just 8gb, I wish they had a 12 GB version like Samsung does, it's such a shame
>>7696340I have the S9 ultra and the brightness is fine (and I have it pretty low too). The problems is that the color temperature is too warm even on the "natural" setting. I agree that ipad's (art) ecosystem is much better. If it didn't have such an ass file system it would be almost perfect. They should just stick macos on it already. It's more than powerful enough.I have the last gen pro with a matte protector. Does the new textured glass fuck up the screen quality like a protector does?
>>7696642>Does the new textured glass fuck up the screen quality like a protector does?it doesnt, it still kills vibrancy but on a different more subtle way, if you've ever used a cintiq pro 16 or a steam deck oled with etched glass it kinda looks like that, those are my closest references atmmost textured screen protectors are straight up matte with tons of sandy paper friction and of course cheap as hell, so the end result isnt the samethis is why i love the new stand alone android tablets that drawing companies have released, they nail the etched glass screen feature first and foremost and then build the device around it, the opposite of a regular consumer tabletyou used to need to go for pro models for etched glass, now its on the low end models, paradigm shift
>>7696660>steam deck oledI have the etched glass one. Dunno what it would feel like to draw on but it definitely looks great.I'm interested in the wacom/xp-pen tablets but I'm honestly not sure if I'd want to spend that kind of money on another android tablet with the art software in its current state. As much as I hate Apple's walled garden the art apps definitely feel much more polished.
>>7696695>Dunno what it would feel like to draw on but it definitely looks great.yeah i was speaking purely for looks, afaik and from a short test of the nano texture at the store it's definitely smoother texture compared to a cintiq pro but it allows the pencil to glide more naturally without getting stuck with oils, etc like on bare glass, a lot of ipad artists that have tried it love itif you are a one software kind of person and that software is Clip Studio then there's no difference between Android and iPadOS just so you know, if anything the Android device will give you a much easier time with file managementnow if you want to start doing Procreate and the mobile Adobe apps then yeah ...not much choice there
>>7696709CSP is ok on desktop (though I personally don't use it because linux) but imo not worth the subscription fee for the mobile version. I've just been using Krita and it's fine but the desktop interface really isn't suited for a small tablet and it's kinda buggy. On Ipad I swap between ASP and Procreate. Also have ToonSquid for animation.
reminder to avoid xp-pen tablets if you can afford.
>>7696340fuck i wish i saw this sooner, i JUST ordered s10 fe
>>7696719Just stick to wacom I'm not even joking, their shit is overpriced, true, but at least it won't fuck you over a year after you bought an expensive new tablet. The only good thing about all the new competitors is that wacom was forced to lower there greed and release more affordable products
>>7696793Just return it. Or keep it. Samsung tablets aren't bad, there's just better options.
>>7696719What model is it?
>>7696839Artist 24 Pro, they actually replaced it when i complained to the after sale service e-mail, so that's a plus.honestly if xp-pen tablets weren't so shit with the drawings part, i wouldn't consider using anything else but the tablet, the image resolution isn't too bad, colors are alright ? (not sure on those) and they didn't ask questions when I sent the tablet back
>>7682586It's 2025, is there already an equivalent to Procreate on Android? As one time purchase?I can't afford an iPad (+pencil) and the refurbished ones are almost the same prices as a brand new.

Anyone using the new Intuos Pro 2025 professionally, or at least daily for couple hours? I am interested in it's surface-how does it hold? I am still on my Intuos3, but that's only because I like its smooth and durable surface a lot, how is 2025 model? I hated the previous Intuos Pro just because it was rough as shit
>>7682586If you're a beginner looking at this thread, you don't need any of these fancy shits. Buy the cheapest tablet you can find and you won't even know the difference. Your scrub ass won't have the skill to make use of a better feeling tablet anyways. Buy cheap shit, see if it's for you, then practice and become better. Then you can buy a new board.
>>7689758noI use a pen tablet, and it was weird at first, but you get used to it. Then it becomes second nature. The two schools of though are:1) Pen tablets are better for your posture, and are better because your pen hand is not obscuring your art while you draw. There also much cheaper.2) Display tablets are better because theres less disconnect between your hand and the screen, and feels more like traditional drawing. If money was no option Id say try both and see what you like. Theres practical benefits to both, and the rest of it comes down to preference.
>>7697423Screen tablets are just much more productive if you work mainly with line art, because it's mich more easier to put down a line in one go instead of having to redo them constantly which is, let's be honest, the case for non screen tablets
>>7682586Asking here in case anyone's in a similar situation but uhh, is there a budget tablet that can draw and take notes/do school shit? Student budget is kinda shit but if there are, I'd like to see the prices and choose from there. Asking bros here since the draw part is more important than the school part, taking notes isn't very resource intensive.

>>7697683Wacom and xppen both have standalone android tablets that have features primarily for drawing. Etched glass, same digitizers as their displays tablets, wide color gamut, etc. Wacom's is the movinkpad, xppen's is the magic drawing pad.Xppen also has something called the magic note pad which is more focused on note taking, but you can also draw with it. I don't remember all the differences between it and the mdp, but iirc it has a higher refresh rate screen, with some other shit being worse
>>7693397well i ended up buying it and it just came in the amil, from initial testing so far i like it, feels just like drawing with a real pencil for the most part.
>>7697458Thats a good point, clean line art can be a pita with a pen tablet.
so its definitely possible to do all kinds of professional level art of any kind and style on the ipad, but are there any catches or gotchas that's not immediately visible outside of the apple circlejerk??like I'm gonna buy a used m1 ipad pro and it turns it doesn't have a headphone jack, derpanything else related to drawing? like is the sub csp the full actual desktop version? >>7700610oh i know what. i wasn't too specific, my bad. i want to know what's the best monitor size so i won't feel like my display is all cluttered. right now i'm using a laptop, and say in CSP, i had to make all the menus smaller and really zoom out of the canvas to see it whole, or minimize the reference window to the point where i couldn't really make out the forms and lines.>t. /beg/
>>7700621dont buy stationary 16" tablets thats for sure, might as well grab a big iPad Pro/Air at that size i'd never go below a 21//22 for display tablet, I used to daily drive a Cintiq 22 and that shit was legit, plenty of size for Clip Studio UI, realistically around 17-18" of real drawing space
What’s the cheapest iPad I could buy that would let me:>Use Procreate>Work with the Apple Pencil (I’m not sure about the difference between the 1st and 2nd gen)>Draw with multiple layers without lag, and maybe try animating someday>Not have to worry about replacing it anytime soonI think I could get used to any screen size, I just want something I can draw on, whether I’m at work or out and about.
>>7682587this is why i use a mouse

>>7697537>is there a budget tablet that can draw and take notes/do school shit?right now its either samsung fe tab or ipad a16, both are around 10-11" in dimension, both are made for student, both are good for drawing via csp/procreate.>tab fe samsung tab is decent, and you can get their pen for free, but the downside is that they are below flagship model (the non fe ones) and they are equipped with exynos chip - the most dogshit sonofabitch chip that ever exist award - because not only that its sucks at everything, their quality literally degrade over time because of core problem and alike within 1-2 years of usage. If you want to use this FE tablet for drawing though, they are generally more than enough, but make sure to save more money to buy another tablet in a few years because of they are not that long lasting in terms of quality.>ipadipad is good and you can get procreate if csp is not your preference. but you wont get that pen for free, you have to spend another $100 or so to buy yourslef their pen and use it to draw. >so what should I get in here?so if budget if your concern go with tab fe, if longetivity is your concern go with ipad
>>7691024Expect heavy latency with Bluetooth.
does intuos pro/cintiq pro drawing tablets go on sale via black friday? im in usa
isnt 11 inches too small for a display tablet?
>>7701620never ever officially, just random amazon discountsonly the peasant/children products like wacom ones go on salenot kidding btw
>>7701803Shit is like bigger than A5 sketchbook. You dont need a bigger screen in your display tablet unless you're a professional chud. Even 13 inch display tablet is like A4 sketchbook size
This schizoden is still alive? lol
>>7702583well paper has no ui
shit, anon was righti wasn't planning on using Procreate but Clip Studio instead so i'm holding off from an iPad purchase for now ...fucking Wacom why would they only release an underpowered 11" device with superior drawing tech, what a waste
Kamvas 16 (2021) has wobbly line issues. Anyone else experience this? Tried many things but nothing fixed it.
>>7703028just get an mdp...
>>7703135isnt wacom movink at the same price?

is screenless ok if i draw on mainly paper?
I just installed my Paperlike and a single spec of dust escaped my watchful gaze, and now I have like, a single black "pixel". Should I just endure it and hope my brain tunes it out? Or just say fuck it and waste the spare screen?
>>7702894If you're scared of that one csp desktop ui, they have the minimalist(tm) version in their mobile app. But I dont remember whether you can flip the screen and draw vertically in there though because I keep forgetting to do that
>>7703309its fine, but you probably want to get yourself a large sized desk for an easier hand movement when it comes to sketch and line art with screenless tablet
>>7703125>Kamvas 16 (2021) has wobbly line issues. Anyone else experience this? How should people test for wobble? I can do it free hand, but im shaky so of course the lines will also be shaky.I see other people do it with a ruler or something else, and when I do it with my Kamvas 16 (2021) the lines are fine unless I go painfully slow.
just bought a used m1 12.9 ipad pro; any 10 artist exclusive tips and techniques here? I've never used any idevices beforehand, and seems there's a lot to be learned before even starting to make artworkwhile this sounds like faggy listicle bait, practically any such online only concerns general use and none related to digital artists, like does it matter which brand of matte protectors in use? or does the pencil nip wear down fast? I have to buy genuine apple fuckyourass USB c cable or risk motherboard damage? bruh and I thought wacom wanting constant nip replacement is bad
>>7703803I think it's only happening in an old version of paint tool SAI.What program are you testing it in?
>>7703234>please give me the smaller tablet with identical hardware that costs more because it has a wacom logo on it
>>7704118CSP, Krita
>>7704571Yeah those work fine for me for the most part. Sad though because I've always preferred SAI.
>>7704536it doesnt cost more tho and its 0.75 inches difference
>>7704536>>7705098Actually wacom is cheaper lmao
What are some good drawing pads with tilt? I was gonna buy a huion but this thread freaked me out
Is op pic outdated?Should one still buy >Samsung Galaxy Tab S8/S9 Ultra, used iPad Pro 12.9" Gen 1-5over stuff like xp-pen, which some people ITT seem to recommend?
>>7705849>>7705906https://docs.thesevenpens.com/drawtab/recommendations
>>7705906Yes. 13" Ipad is a beast and samsung peaked at s9 so you dont need anything else than both of those tablet to draw (samsung s10 is a massive failure). But again, tablet is aimed for portability, if you're guy who spent most of your days outside you'd want to get yourself a tablet, but if you prefer to draw in your room get yourself a display tablet. A 22" display tablet have the same price range like 13" tablet, so you might want to consider that as well
>>7705906standalone tablets suck no matter what, OP is an AInigger who doesn't draw and you shouldn't get your purchasing opinions from 4chan or the internet at large without actual confirmation from people who use their tablets for a long time
Is a second hand Cintiq pro 13 worth getting?
>>7682631Wacom Pen felt better to use for drawing. It's less grippy nibs. Steadtler Norris Jumbo has more rubbery nibs so it's better for writing or if you do more precise linework, and it's more comfortable to hold. I have both of them, I'd recommend the Wacom One pen.
>>7706821For me personally, smaller tablets make my hands cramp easily since it's harder to draw with a full arm. HOWEVER, it's completely doable. I started off my art career on a wacom bamboo (TINY little thing) and once my art showed profits, I bought something better. Think of it as an investment to start.
>>7682586wanted to chime in as I've been using the last gen XP Artist 22 Pro for the last 5 years and picked up the Wacom Movink 11 since I'm going out of town for awhile. It's...fine. I was expecting to be blown away by the famous Wacom Pen (tm) but it's barely any better than the one I've been using. Dunno if the Wacom shilling is just a meme or what but they're pretty much the same. The android version of CSP is good, it's about 1:1 feature parity with the desktop version. Oh except for one little thing. The fucking dialogue boxes on the Cancel and Ok buttons are switched???? and I can't find a way to switch them back. This is pretty fucking aids as my muscle memory is so strong I will sit there and click Cancel like a retard 2-3 times in a row before I slow down and force myself to click the right one. Which of course is going fuck with me again when I switch back to desktop. Love it.
>>7707477Wacom at this point is just a meme you can work with a majority of the alternative tablet brands with little to no issue so long as you don't get like an older model tablet.
>>7707477Socials/blog?
>>7706836>I'd recommend the Wacom One pen. That'd only be the case if he can get his hands on the GEN1 variants, GEN2 Wacom One pens are unironically dysfunctional with fucked up pressure handling.
>>7707529which one is the gen 1? the black one or the grey one i was planning on buying the grey one because it has 2 buttons
>>7707691gen 1 is the black one with the "flared" tipalthough eternal reminder that it has 5g IAF so here's hoping you enjoy putting the pressure down

>>7705849I recently upgraded to a newer Huion Inspiroy 2 from an older Huion tablet. On my older model the tilt would spaz out when turned on, but the new one works fine.
>>7707477>but it's barely any better than the one I've been usingeven among your own chink brand there are better pens that were released after that xp artist 22you're a lying fuck, there are direct tablet competitors from xp pen released this year as well and the pens are still inferior to the movinkpadagain, you're a lying chink fag

I haven't unboxed the medium size Wacom One is it any better than a small Intuos? Or is it relatively the same except the size of the tablet?
>>7707477>I was expecting to be blown away by the famous Wacom Pen (tm) but it's barely any better than the one I've been using. Dunno if the Wacom shilling is just a meme or what but they're pretty much the same.correct >>7708376the differences are basically just for (you) to jerk off to new numbers, they barely feel any different. people that actually draw don't give a shit.
A cintiq 12wx still worth It?
My desk is too cluttered. How do you guys store your (display) tablets when not in use? Ideally I'd just have a separate desk for art but unfortunately I don't have the space.
>>7709875I bought a 4000sqft house so I would have room to fit my big ass desk
chink shills remind me of oldschool console fanboys, i never knew they'd go so low just for a tablet maker kek
>>7709820absoluitely fucking not. I had one in like 2015, its an incredibly ancient piece of hardware now with a screen that you will never be able to color calibrate properly, is very small, and has huge bezels. Its just so old theres no reason to go for it
I finally went for a screen tablet.>>7693804I went with a galaxy tab S10 ultra 14inch. I wanted to consume media, comics/anime/movies as well. And I already have a medium intuos 5 that works great.and it's better than i imagined. Everything is smooth as butter. And the S-Pen is incredible. (I also picked up an EMR pen from staedtler, and a huion remote. I bought all the art apps I could find. I love infinity painter. And drawing is bed is so freeing. And I can just pick it up and draw whenever I want instead of having to move shit around on my desk open photoshop, etc.I am loving this thing. I think between this and my screenless. I am set for a while. If I were to ever make money, i'll gun for the cintiq, but for now. I'm set!
>>7710369how do you find the staedtler pen out of the bunch? ive read comments that it's the best s-pen replacement for drawing against the bare screen without screen protectors bc it's also a bit rubbery (but better), is that right?i'm torn between buying a movinkpad11 or splurging a bit more for a Tab Plus/Ultra, one has better "drawing" the other is just a better overall device ...but drawing is king
Is it possible that I can't get used to screen tablets? I have an xp pen artist pro 19 and a Wacom Intuos pro and I feel crippled on the xp pen in terms of line control. I constantly redo lines/strokes I would do perfectly or in lesser time on the intuos. Also drawing on a screen feels very smoothed out compared to screenless where I can do the exact angles and line connections I need.Maybe the issue is in posture or pen grip? I tried both iPad and xp pen so I doubt it's in chinese tablets being worse quality.
>>7710393i don't have enough experience with tablets to tell you if it will improve your experience. but i enjoy both the s-pen and the jumbo staedtler pen! i was reading that some people don't like the screen on the samsung. but it's not bothering me. as i said i'm not a tablet guy.i also did get it for movies and comics, i am already in the android/samsung ecosystem through my galaxy phone, so that was a motivating factor.honestly super happy with mine. you might be able to find discounts, and i think their next model is launching in a few months.
Copped an S10+ before reading up on peoples anger over the cpu but gotta say I've been loving it it's my first tablet thos so nothing to compare it to. Found myself drawing 10x as much. Out of curiosity what am I missing over an Ipad pro or xpen?
>>7710611ahhh ok anon, enjoy the device then! happy 4 u
>>7711165with an ipad pro you could actually touch both the screen with your fingers and apple pencil and have them work at the same time; see the gestures in procreate where you could double-finger-tap undo without actually lifting the pencil, or that smart shapes thing where you draw a shape, then keep holding after which the shape turns proper as in a poorly drawn circle actually becomes round, THEN you tap with a finger while still having the pencil on the screen which actually auto-adjusts the shape even moreNot to mention numerous other similar gestures like copying a layer to another project, by holding the layer then using the pencil to tap back to gallery then open another project then paste it there (the copied layer stays in a small hovering picture all the way through as long as your finger remains on the screen You can't do this with any other devices - the retarded palm rejection is either pen OR finger only, unlike on ipads where it accepts both at the same time
>>7711209Hmm I see, although neat I don't think any of that is worth the much higher price I'd have to pay and I've definitely been doing the auto shape creation so thats for sure not ipad exclusive. I think most of all I would like the slightly wider shape of the 13".
>>7711165should've wait until thursday because they will announce s11 series and you can get a cheaper s10 by then, and I think s10+ use mediatek dimensity chip while the fe ones use exynos, nobody get mad over mediatek afaik, exynos however...
>>7711439Tons of people hate on mediatek what are you talking about. It's garbage for emulation and a clear attempt by Samsung to cut costs on their flagship series. No chance 10+ drops anymore than it already has since there is no s11+ size coming.
I draw with a Huion crusted in food and with completely fucked up drivers that cause the cursor to skew an inch from the pen in random directions. Yet I love this tablet. It beats traditional materials any day.
should I boughted an ipad to learn how 2 draw
Since OP is a worthless cunt on Wacom's payroll, someone please recommend me a 27+ in Chinese display tablet.
>omg what a shill>ok give me options from shills from the competitors>this is totally organic btw
>>7712020I'd rather have Chinese shills than Japanese shills shilling me a fucking $3.5k tablet.
>>7682586I fell for the "XP-Pen Artist 13 is the best budget display tablet," and it sucks so much. The pressure is inconsistent, press slightly hard, and it scratches the screen, and the lines are too thick, press slightly light, and it stops detecting the pen.
>>7712023>i'd rather have chinese shillsliterally why, chinks are way more subhuman than japs in every way, WHY would a westerner simp for an insectoid like that>$3.5k tabletnobody is shilling for such a ridiculous device, look at all the price points you can pick from

i'm a tourist. i have to wonder - does OP actually draw or is he just a hyperdistilled 4chan autist? it's bizarre seeing no discussion beyond "this brand sucks because 1000 million times folded nippon steel is better!". people in this general (or just the OP? i don't fucking know) argue and blow shit up out of proportion over shit that most artists wouldn't give a shit about.tl;dr: can't you all just get along desuwa

BREAKING NEWS:IN A PREVIOUS POST, I SAID SCREENLEES TABLETS ARE SHITI FOUND OUT THAT THEY WORK LIKE A CHARM ON A LAPTOPIF YOU'RE A LAPTOP BRO SCREENLESS TABLETS ARE A-OKAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
>>7713205Literally the worst standalone drawing tablet on the market outside of shit like the kamvas slate 10
>>7710554in terms of the smoothed out feeling of drawing, i found that felt tip nib + a matte screen protector (i bought a laptop one and cut it to size) made a huge difference. The matte does make the image quality a little worse but its a good tradeoff for me.
>>7714157?
When is apple going to release a pencil that doesn't suck? With ergonomics? Buttons? Type C is the only one worth buying and it's the cheapest one
>>7714484surely there's a third party pencil for that, right?
>>7714602kek, lmao even
>>7714609i should have figured, but damn.
Why would anyone have a large quantity of drawing tablets? They're not even intuos pro.
>>7715369probably an office that's decommissioning them for new stuff. i got my xp-pen for free when my brother was handling his company's decommission stock.
Just saw the announcement for galaxy tab s11. This thing is not even worth it for general tablet users let alone drawfags kek>spen got remodel to look like apple pen>no bluetooth in spen>cutting several other tablet functionality>put the £1400 pricetag for ultra versionIf any of you think of getting S11, maybe for that free 6 months of csp thing, then forget it. S9 and S10 are way more better in terms of value compared to S11 table. Drawfags are not part of their target consoomer now
Is an old PTH851 Intuos Pro Large worth it if I can get it cheap?
>>7716432Yeah, they are still one of the best screenless tablets you can buy. As long as the surface isn't too scratched up and the USB connector isn't loose. Those things can be easily fixed though.
>>7715645I just looked it up out of curiosity. Personally, no BT isnt a big deal since ive never used bluetooth features in a stylus. Pen pressure is wacom EMR anyway, and i turn off any buttons on my styluses. It's ridiculous that a £1k tablet is running a Mediatek SOC though. Jesus christ Samsung, cheaping out on the cpu on a flagship device is retarded. It's literally worse than year old Snapdragon 8 Elites. But then again, i doubt it will make a difference when drawing.
>>7714602You can put third party pencils on your iPad yeah, but none of them have pressure sensitivity so they are worthless. Either get an official one or don't bother
I've bought Lenovo convertible, not for drawing but music stuff. It has a wacom digitizer and came with a pen, 4096 pressure levels, that stuff. The display apparently is glass, but if I use it with the pen, pretty hard tip, there's a chance I'm going to ruin it?Anyways, the touch and pen input ceased to be recognized two weeks after I bought it, hahaha. There's a visible dent in the bezel, where something inside it got very hot and actually melted it from the inside. Apparently that was part of the wacom stuff.Just inconvenient, I have two years of warranty, but it stil takes time to get it replaced.Have fun drawing guys!
budget or midrange display tablet recommendations? I wanna try it out without committing 500$+
samsung tab s11 ultra worth it?
I want to get a tablet for a junior artist, she uses her phone to draw with ibis paint and her finger at the moment. What are the best pen tablets without a display for her to use with her laptop?
>>7716661Nah the worse bits other than CPU are:>no tandem oled>no etched glass option>no wacom emr upgrade to 8k>bluetooth s pen out (never accept takebacks)>not negotiating with creative apps for ports>no detachable keyboard case with strong stand>performance is totally nerfed compared to phonesThere's absolutely 0 reason to buy a Galaxy Tab nowadays, why overpay for Android and why avoid an iPad Pro at the same price point?
>One by Wacom>Wacom One>Wacom One (display)These are all separate products. What the actual fuck are they doing?
I'm scared to get a display tablet because I could scratch the screen.
>>7718581i'm scared it won't be as comfy to draw on as a screenless tablet
I'm thinking about getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 Lite, since I want something very portable, I travel often.Anyone has this tablet? Are ya happy with this purchase?
And are there are additional accessories that are nice to have with that Galaxy Tab s6 that I should buy? I imagine a case is a must, but what about a keyboard? How do y'all ctrl-z without it?
>>7718256medium or large size, small ones are bad for your wrist. new or used depending on your budget.Wacom, Xencelabs, Huion and XP-Pen are all good. They mostly have all the same features these days. Wacom and Xencelabs have a bit better build quality but are more expensive. They might want a wireless one to be easier to use with their laptop, unless they have it set up on a desk.>>7718581buy a used one for cheap that's already scratched up a bit>>7718587they aren't very comfy to use compared to a screenless
>>7718276Forgot: No Wifi 7
I used a screenless tablet for 10 years. ctrl+f "screen" to see /ic/ opinion on screen vs screenless but seems like there is no consensus.i am so undecideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedbudget is big because I plan to keep whatever I buy for another 10 years+
>>7718904The general consensus that it's personal preference and pick your recommendations over thesevenpens website (https://docs.thesevenpens.com/drawtab/about-thesevenpens) instead of schizo OP. I saved 5 minutes of your time, you're welcome.
Ok I managed to return my movinkpad and cintiq 16 inch for a 24 inch tough, I kinda like it but I need a stand, probably the huion one which has a pen older on it too.My only gripe with it is that the display isn't as amazing, I wish it was 4k instead of 2.5 because you can definitely see some ui and stuff be blurry or pixelated if you're looking at the screen upclose which is kinda what you do when you're drawing on it anyways so that's a miss. Even the huion 24 inch is in 4k, the xppen also seems to have better specs but I'm fine with just the 100% srgb since I'm not doing anything to do with print and stuff and anything else would be overkill. I think they should've released a 22 inch version too since the 24 one is kinda too big but the 16 ones too small and doesn't have touch.
>>7718904You don't need to buy a wacom intuos if you want a screenless, just get an xppen or huion screenless. They should be about 8k pen pressure and have thicker and slimmer pens as options and should also just be plug and play. The only thing to be careful about is not buying a small. Medium size is typically what is recommended always.
>>7718987*touch not tough
>>7718977>>7718990thanks, finally decided im going screenless
>>7719041Yeah screenless is good enough to draw to be honest, no need for a screen one, I only got mine because I needed a 2nd monitor anyways. Just don't pay for anything beyond $100, I got my screenless huion one years ago and it was only like $69 and still works fine), no different than an intuos.
>>7719041Remember to not let Zhang fool you. He is posting here specifically to shill low quality crap that breaks down easily.Never buy XP Pen or Huion.
>>7719164I bought a Huion 7 years ago and another one 5 years ago, they both worked fine, I have a wacom cintiq 24 inch touch 2025 now because that fits what I wanted. There is absolutely no reason to buy an intuos or any wacom non screen tablets. Even the screen ones seem to be competitive in terms of specifications and honestly I only bought mine because I could, if I didn't I would've waited for a huion or xppen new release of their screen tablets with less bezels/buttons or just simply got the 4k xppen/huion they're selling for less though even if only a few hundred dollars less. Infact wacom seems to retain their value and sells for a relatively reasonable price, if a 4k low bezel fanless and light design comes with better specs I will probably sell my cintiq for something that performs just as well and provides more than their new release.
>>7719177BTW I didn't buy the other one 3 years later because it "broke" or whatever else, I infact liked it so much that I wanted to buy something similar again but this time without me having to charge the pen which was annoying so I got the no charging one which was probably an updated model. In that time my choice was either buying a huion/xppen screenless or a wacom intuos that had the 8k pen pressure, the difference in price was me spending about $60-$70 on the alternative brand or having to spend like $320 on an intuos or something stupid, I definitely went with the huion and had no issues with it and it still holds up just fine even today and I'm saying this as a guy who also managed to get a hold of a large intuos and have messed around with other ones. My first wacom was a wacom bamboo which used to be sold for $20 or $25 or something back in the day which only had 2k pen pressure, I was given an old intuos or something to me once which was silver back in the day and it had 8k pressure then and ofc I didn't want to spend triple digits on it once that died, though the price bump from $20-25 to $60-70 was more reasonable for a similar product. The go to for screenless tablets is always medium sized, 8k pen pressure and never paying beyond $100. If I can recall there still are some wacom products being sold that don't even have that basic spec, it should've been a standard by now.
>>7719177That doesn't say much coming from a Chinese shill like you.The issues are abundant. Xp pen and Huion make poor quality products with cheap manufacturing process. No amount of shilling from you will change that.
>>7718904roughlyscreenless>better posture because you're looking at PC instead of screen >cheaper>arm does not cover artwork>imo less annoying to use>takes time to build up hand eye coordination screen>lineart is much easier to draw at first>you can draw in bed or on the train maybe
>>7719202you are vastly overestimating the effect of pen pressure
>>7719890Not really, if it didn't feel and perform as great then no brand would've moved beyond 2k to 8k, but I must say anything beyond 8k seems like a meme. I tested both 2k and 8k in the past and the bamboo which had 2k pen pressure definitely felt terrible to draw on due to poor sensitivity, however I dunno people worked professionally with them in the past when those were the only options so maybe it's a skill issue.>>7719209Wacom is also made in china. I did not face any issues on mine and it has sustained itself over the years. My reasoning over the specs and price point speaks for itself.>>7719746Screenless also saves you even more money if you buy a calibrated monitor instead of a screen tablet, I got mine for $175 which if you add up a huion or xppen screenless you're still under £300 which is cheaper than a single wacom intuos pro (LOL), meaning you can draw and have colour accuracy in your work on a budget.
>>7718904BUY A SCREENLESS ONLY IF YOU HAVE A SMALL SCREEN LIKE A LAPTOP, IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH THAT, DON'T BUY ONE IF YOU HAVE A BIG SCREEN IT'S CANCER
>>7718987you should have gotten the 16-inch one. I bought the really old one, the one where everyone says it's ass cuz it has no etched glass AND shit resolution (even for wacom this is exceptionally jewish), but I still love to draw on it, and because it's so small, the shit resolution isn't really that noticeable
>>7720005It also depends on the size of the tablet. Being able to feel this in real time by resizing your screen makes this really apparent.
>>7720011OH YES >>7718904 DON'T GET A BIG SCREENLESS TABLET GET EITHER MEDIUM OR SMALL THE BIG ONES FEEL LIKE DOG SHIT
>>7720005Unless it's some ultra wide screen I think he'd be fine because you can map the display to the wacom tablet, however it's recommended he gets a medium sized tablet to make navigation and drawing feel fine. I used my huion on a 27 inch monitor.>>7720009I got a 16 inch cintiq and a movinkpad because both would sum up to be less than a cintiq 2025 touch but it was smaller than what I'd expected and it had issues with connection. If you're on pc you have to use a mini hdmi cable, usb-c and a power usb-c, you don't get a mini hdmi cable from the box and stuff so I returned it and the movinkpad (the spec was a bit small and outdated plus I didn't want to pay money for clip studio paint). I just got a 24 inch touch because I can pirate the softwares and use it as my 2nd screen, if huion or xppen makes something like it for cheaper and maybe 22 inch I'll get it probably.

You can get a 22-inch drawing tablet for 330 USD. That's almost the price of a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium.
>>7720005i remember drawing on my main PC with a screenless felt weird. i couldn't ever get used to it and i switched to a screen tablet. then i brought my screenless tablet with me in college, and it somehow just felt perfectly fine and intuitive on my laptop with a much smaller screen. i can't tell if it's just confirmation bias speaking, but i guess that makes sense?
>>7720186screenless generally just takes a long time to get used to but it's absolutely fine for the budget and work
>>7720204I could easily get the biggest cintiq if I wanted but I am still working on my intuos 3 large that I bought in 2008. I used cintiqs at art school and at my friend’s place but I just can’t get used to screen tablets. I hate drawing on an ipad too so it’s whatever. God forbid I ever have to replace my intuos I will most definitely not get a screen tablet. Different strokes.
>>7720186screenless tablets are literally designed for laptops, I'm surprised so few people know about this
>>7720227>they were designed for lapto-
>>7720204i prefer them if i don't want to have shrimpneck, honestly. i noticed that my neck wouldn't hurt so much after doodling on my screenless (for obvious reasons)
Any anons have experience with wacom cintiq 16?
>>7720327The 2025 ones quite light and the display actually looks quite fine because the pixels are more dense due to smaller size. The only bad thing about the 16 inch new model is how the usb-c only works for thunderbolt usb-c slots, this means you will need to supply your own mini hdmi cable for display and use the other usb-c slot for input. It also doesn't have touch which some may prefer and some may not. The pen is alright, I don't think it's as fragile as some people claim it is. It's also light so some people may be able to carry it in their bag if they travel a lot but don't care about drawing laptops or tablets. I would say if you have a laptop and want another screen for it and like small desk setups then yeah get it since it'll need less cables to run the tablet and it'll be a bigger screen than the usual less than 14 inch laptops being published today so you will appreciate it as a 2nd screen even if smaller than usual. The bad thing about it is that the pen holder is awful so you might lose your pen if you're a mess.
if anyone bought the new s11 ultra (seems to be a very controversial launch overall but i guess artfags would only care about the size and the wacom digitizer) hows the new s-pen?
Do you think Apple will ever launch a huge tablet? Like real huge, not the side grades they have on store with the pro model
How many years do you think it will take for non-Wacom pens to reach less than 1g of IAF? So far, only Huion has managed to achieve 2g.
>>7720947kek what the fuck happened here
>>7720227how many people do you think had laptops in the 80s when the first screenless tablets were made?
>>7721228they went full retard with wacom one tablets (not one by wacom version)
Putin have a Cintiq 12WX, what you think he does with it?
>>7721367signatures and writings on official documents which are probably all digital files now.
>>7721367>let me guess, you 'need' more?
>>7721367When I stayed at some budget hotel in Japan they had a row of cintiqs on the counter for signatures
