I don't know what I want to do anymore...
scuffed thriad
>>7778235>>7778231SHUT THE FUCK UP THE TWO OF YOU.
>>7778211Haha look anon I'm in the collageAnyways, didn't get feedback last thread so is it okay to post again?Playing with musculature/perspective, how am I doing? Does it work or is stuff looking off?
>>7778211Lazy fuck
>>7778237Ok. Sorry. I actually won't be able to post for a bit after this since I really think I'm messing my wrist up and I ran out of tokens. I get like 2 every decent amount of drawing and have to post it here. So basically I can only post if a draw. >>7778238This is cool but since I can't tell if it's right or wrong I didn't say anything.
>>7778238imo looks great
>>7778211some shading/rendering practice i did to help a friend
>>7778238I think it looks sick
I finished this a few days ago.I'm really trying hard to figure out body construction. None of the drawings I've made have used body construction and I really want to use it to make my bodies better.I'm really trying to figure out which method would be best. I've thought about either using mannequin-esque stick figures, or silhouettes. Anyone have any suggestions?
>>7778255Here's the reference.
>>7778237Why?
>>7778261Because.
bleeee
>>7778211WHY DID YOU SKIP MY WORK U FUCKIN FAGGOT
Opinions, suggestions, or advice?I think I need to work on my anatomy a bit more, but I liked the skin color.
Turns out I know fuckall about this style. I'm a fraud.Wish I could draw this guy's OC more but if I give him special treatment, my other comm clients will think I'll do the same.
hmmm i dont hate thisIt is the definition of an "unflattering angle" though is it not
do you guys ever get upset at yourselves for not doing enough/letting time slip by you? i.e. i got home today at 5:30 after work and ended up dicking around not really doing anything art related until like 10, and im upset at myself when i think about all those potential hours i lost while doing basically nothingthis isnt really a "how do i make it a habit" question because thats not the issue, i do draw every day, i just need help with figuring out how to not dick away a ton of potential art time by fucking around
>>7778275nah, it's not really productive to beat myself up for needing restdrawing every day is the win, be it 5 minutes or 5 hours
>>7778279>>7778280these are great
>>7778278the issue is that it wasnt even rest, i could be more forgiving on myself if i took a nap or watched a movie, but i pretty much just kept refreshing twitch and 4chan for 4 hours straight
>>7778270yeah. from what i've seen, pros try to avoid that angle at all costs
>>7778275I only draw at night, I guess the peacefulness helps, so I spend most of the day just doing whatever, drowning in my self-hatred, or other stupid stuff.I feel like I draw without forcing myself when I comfortable to do so, it's as if the body moves on it's own when the time is right, so I don't worry.
Idk how to color
>>7778243Even still, I enjoy hearing you think it's cool anon>>7778246>>7778250Thanks guys, glad you're into it : ]>>7778269I like it, the expression and muscles are pretty cool
>>7778268Proceeds to pee on your picture I'm so sorry anon
>>7778305>I like it, the expression and muscles are pretty coolI appreciate the positivity. The muscles are dogshit and I'm disappointed in myself for not doing better but I'm so tired.
>>7778211
>>7778309What makes you say that? I'm not exactly Mr. Man or anything but they seem to have decent shape to me
i gotta believe
Tired
I AM TIRED OF LOOKING AT THE PERMABRG PORN ITT
Could the color of the brush matter when I draw poses? I feel like when I use red, my poses are better than when I use black
>>7778334Yeah it matters. The hue is personal preference, blue or red are somewhat common. Pick any you like. It will contrast more against the plain white backgrounds. Black/grey can look a bit plain otherwise. The value matters a lot too, sketching with lighter tones will have less contrast so you don't commit to each line as much, compared to sketching with full black. Just use what you enjoy and what gets the results you want.
>>7778236Very good
>>7778211>>7778320https://files.catbox.moe/ibvg3e.jpgHow about permabeg loli?
>>7778211How do you avoid pillow shading?
>>7778362learn how to shade
>>7778362when you understand form and a little perspective (placing the light sources becomes much easier with perspective knowledge) shading understanding comes much more naturally and it is so much easier to learn how to properly shade
>>7778362learn how light workslearn the structure of the human bodyapply the first to the second
>>7778371i also forgot to add but Sinix on youtube has a nice tutorial about shading. i like his emphasis on shape design
>>7778307Thanks! I need to work on improving my anatomy and perspective.
i need a structured way to draw the head, I see my mistakes yet im unable to fix them, i'll be permabeg for life
>>7778395SHUT THE FUCK UP.
>>7778211Is it true that when artists have the same skill level, their art style is mostly similar?
>>7778398what upsets you?
>>7778395It's fine, your form sense just sucks, it'll get better.
>>7778265Its been 15 years...
>>7778404not really, everyone has unique handwriting early on. people make marks slightly differently.it's quite rare that someone would actually have the same skill level as someone else since there are so many micro-skills and depending on what you draw, you'll focus on different things.some students that follow the same course from the same instructor can end up looking pretty similar when doing studies/homework but their own personal works usually looks different.when pros work as a team, they specifcally have to use reference sheets to make their art match each others. and it still has to get corrected by one of the lead artists.
>>7778307so good
>>7778301I can't help with coloring but she's lying on the floor, right? How the hair shadows are now it looks like the light comes from the floor. If that's not the case the shadows should be on the other side. If the floor is the light source then maybe some rim lighting would show it better. While I was looking at it rotated I noticed it looks like the hair on one side defies gravity a bit. I tried to adjust it a bit but I'm not sure how much it helped. Also, I think her palm is looking a little thick so I flattened it out.Anyways I like what you're doing and I hope I gave you something useful.
>>7778265raxav im going to steal your trick or treating composition from last thread for my ocs it was a cute idea

>>7778359you have cramped page syndrome here. That's not actually a name that anyone uses, just a phenomenon I've noticed where people really want to fit something in the page, and so completely fuck the proportions to do so. You wanted to include the vagina, so you smushed her midsection smaller than it should be, the hands too. Be aware of this in the future

>>7778467considering making a new twitter account. I nuked the last one. Wanted to grind for consistency for a while
are there other places to post art anonymously and get feedback as active as /ic/?
>>7778320same>il ove le woman i draw le boob and le ass
>>7778211Do you know any good tutorials on proportions?
is this a good point to start coloring or should i work more on the draft/lineart first? i have no idea what i am doing
5 minute copying practice. Results be. Not good. Not good.
>>7778469Its hard :(
What do you think about this?
>>7778499kek
>>7778494It looks like you don't understand the planes of the face and how important the glabella is as a nexus point. Also compare where the hair falls with the eye hieght it would be easier to capture the proportions that way.
Wrist feel bad So I am sto.p.
>>7778502besides the hair, which proportions are off? i feel like i did a pretty good job at eyeballing it, it's not perfect but i figured i wouldn't aim for perfectioni'll try doing another sketch starting with the glabella for my next drawing. i did draw a square for the forehead on my first draft. but there's no denying my sketch feels a bit "flat" in spite of it, i hoped to fix it with shadows while coloring
>>7778508>it's not perfect but i figured i wouldn't aim for perfectionBut you have to.
>>7778513>ObviusIgnore the whole image I'm clearly too retarded to give advice, .
>>7778513god this is so tiresome i just wanted an easy lineart to practice coloring kekkkk why is this so HARDthanks for taking some time to give me feedback anon i'll try to fix it but i don't guarantee i'll make it perfect. I WANT TO COLOR
watch me cheat with the selection tool to resize everything
>>7778516That's cheating?
>>7778520feels too easy and forgiving not to bealso if i got it wrong i should try getting it right with free strokes to actually learn something i guess
>>7778494>>7778496>>7778513>>7778516>>7778520arent ya'll niggers the same personive been thinking that for the past two threads
>>7778522>feels too easy and forgiving not to beI just take it as I fucked up and I need to go to the next drawing but I should see how it would look if it were right so I just move one or two things around a bit if they're clearly off before switching to another drawing. I try to wait until I finished with it though to do any of that>>7778523? Do you want me to trip so you can identify me?
>>7778496Even if you’re just able to finish the drawings in 5 minutes that’s already a good start. What I’ve been doing lately is do a batch of 5x5, pick out the 1 or 2 worst ones and correct the mistakes I made (with no time limit), do another batch of 5, repeat. I think it’s important to find a balance of volume and correctness.
>>7778524>? Do you want me to trip so you can identify me?no lol, i just legit thought your work and the other guys work came from the same person. the sonic guy. clearly i am wrong
>>7778460talentnigger GTFO this general!!>>7778510talentnigger GTFO this general!!:(
>>7778525I should try this.>>7778526I'm not the sonic guy just because I draw sonic sometimes.
>>7778526no we're different people
>>7778515>god this is so tiresome i just wanted an easy lineart to practice coloring kekkkk why is this so HARDYeah I've been there, it's rough like that but all steps have to be treated with the same time and respect as the previous. That's the hard part about learning. Some people draw until they have a solid drawing then the next day they'll use that for colors. Smarter people (who do not get the ick from it) simply trace what they want to practice and then work on what they want to isolate specifically. My ego doesn't let me do that so I'll use all my cognitive stamina drawing the same thing over and over until I get something I like then color it. Ultimately you may have to work like >>7778516 if you were doing this professionally so I don't see a problem with going down that path, there are jap artists that use the transform tool as much as they breathe.
>>7778510
>>7778510More horse
>>7778529First post is standard /beg/ stuff.Second post is pretty solid though.
>>7778238Love the style. Reminds me of some of the better cartoon series during the 2000's. Only thing I'd say, is that the perapective down the shaft (heheh) is more extreme than the forshortening on the figure, just a tad. Eg, his legs should be larger at the thigh, narrower toward the ankle. Superior anons correct me if I'mwrong. And, if you can get some arching on his line of action at the same time, that'd be brilliant. But keep going with this piece, by all means. Looking great.
>>7778283thanks!
this is so bad i need help, i actually have no idea what i'm doing, should i just push through?i tried following this tutorial but i'm not getting it at all, did i pick a picture that's too difficult to paint? the guy in the video is doing fine drawing shadows as big patches, but i can't do the gradientpatch process in a relevant way in my headhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0r5-f87YK8
>>7778575color is fucking you up when you don't even have the right values, start with grayscalea very useful advice I once got is to first match the surrounding value of your subjectbecause of color/value relativity, your perception gets fucked if there's a large difference between yours and the ref (like there is right now in the gray of the ref vs yours)
>>7778359nice
>>7778225me too :^)
