Ended up drawing this character again, and since I drew her at the end of 2023 I decided to do a side by side. The pose didn't require the use of any reference I just came up with it myself. And it's not fully done yet but I figured it was a good before and after.

Lines are also usually thicker when you have different things overlapping to make the two items distinct from one another. Another is making lines thicker at intersections to show strong overlap and separation. I try to make large curves have thicker lines as well. I use thin lines for small details that shouldn't be attracting the eye to them. There are some good tutorials on youtube if you look up lineart tips.

>>7809855I had that exact same problem a few years back and the solution unfortunately requires Loomis. You need to understand the planes of the head as to not make it too long or wide. Once you understand how the head works you may simplify the ball and plane method and that will help you greatly to place the eyes and other traits more easily.But yeah in my case it took me a while to figure out the problem laid in the way i was drawing the head. So yeah don't be a fool and save yourself some years and study the planes of the head.
