My new tablet just arrived today so I decided to recreate this drawing with the new one basing off from the same rough sketch. I have to say drawing in a screen tablet is a fuckton more fun although the result is pretty much the same. Tried to stay as close as the og for a fair comparison that's why I didn't address the wonky face.
Something weird is that I'm having trouble recreating the hat, maybe I need to get used to my hand blocking a portion of the screen.

so i came to the understanding that coloring the lineart that perfectly encapsulates the automatic coloring is apparently done manually
i also came to the understanding that i've been begged, time and time again, to post the material which you will be using to showcase the simplicity of the coloring and whatnot
since all these claims have been made, i can only interpolate that it will be easily replicated to a 1:1 standard
so please, im waiting eagerly

and of course here is the original reference
note: you cannot use the same colors for the body or clothes, as that could easily open the doors for cheating
the line art must perfectly, pixel by pixel (other than the colors, as they will be different) match the gradients, tones and changes within the newly colored lineart
i cant wait to see the results guys

I can draw relatively well by just eyeballing stuff and using basic circles/shapes and estimating perspective etc, but it requires a lot of rough sketching before 'hammering down' the lines, but whenever I try to use 'real' construction methods I absolutely shit the bed.

>>
>>7812927

>>
>>7813006
Sometimes you have to take two steps back to take one step in the right direction. When you try a new method, often the results will be worse at first. Once you practice it more, you will have a more concrete method that gives you more consistent results so you don't have to hammer down the lines and such.

Every single day, go to one of those quick pose sites from the OP and do anywhere from 10-20 quick (1-2 minutes max) gesture sketches. The focus should be ENTIRELY on capturing the action and emotion of the poses with clean sweeping lines to suggest the major focal points (spine, should/pelvis alignment, etc.), anything else is secondary. You can use that as your warmup before you get into drawing whatever else you want to do that day.

The biggest issue is the jawline. The jaw should continue up to connect right behind the earlobe. Yours connects at the back of the skull.
Look at page 37 and compare the profile head to yours.

mostly the proportion of the skull
the head is wider in profile view
grind the cartoon heads first before doing real life photos
