Because - and I say this dead seriously - linear perspective is a meme skill with minimal practical artistic value beyond its most basic facts (learnable in a day). How seriously you take it as a "fundamental" is a litmus test for whether you'll blossom into an artist, or be the eternal studycel. Don't tell me you believe the old masters would have done everything by hand if they were born today? No, they'd trace a photo or use a 3D model, retard. We've had incredible technology that allows us to skip the bullshit for well over 150 years and you've been tricked into believing it isn't "legitimate" unless you start with three points and a horizontal line on a page (which isn't even accurate to actual geometry and optics btw).If you're interested in the math of linear perspective, you should study it. Everybody else should read an introductory text and then never actually use linear perspective because, again, it's literally 15th century technology. Why don't you whip out the sextant and compass to find your way home while you're at it, moron?

>>7832911Basic perspective is easy. It's one of the few parts of art that is objectively right or wrong (although perspective can be distorted on purpose, of course).
