Something bothered me about TableGuy's challenge. Not even professional illustrators can make 52 illustrations a year, and those who do make art that quickly can't be called illustrations. I don't want people to feel bad if they can't meet the challenge expectations, because I think they are literally impossible without compromising something. It is setting up a self-sabotaging goal. Suggestions:1. Change to 8 - 10 illustrations a year2. Originality focus: 4 - 8 illustrations a year plus ~4 supporting pieces a month (concept art, character design, interior design, etc.)3. make 52 pieces but don't call them illustrations, or call it "finished pieces" over quality. Even the twitter artists who make a piece every 2-3 days do not always have backgrounds on every piece.

It's gonna take a huge amount of tenacity and busywork to escape the early stages. I wouldn't even think about critique for now. There's plenty of time for that later. Just focus on volume.

Did 3 hours of drawing today, the result is mediocre but I am glad DAD at least “force” me to do art. So, I did a *little bit* of research into Pixiv Fantasia (I remember the artbooks around when I was a teenager but didn't understand what it was)Apparently it is a community and collaborative lore project. The key thing being it uses tags. So people tagged PF_Chapter or PF_Faction. I wonder if critique me developer can make a tag system to read dad contributions for Dad Fantasia. But it doesn't necessarily have to be 1 to 1 just like PF. And there was an organizer who softly chose the direction the story goes in based on community reaction and input to the event. Its a lot different from Art Fight nor any regular art book. I think with DAD'S smaller usebase and different gallery infrastructure (no tags, no views) we will have to be creative about how to adapt such an event or art book for us. It is interesting thats for sure. And I'd love to have a dad artbook. Maybe like a Meet the Dad each DAD contributes an OC to the world.
