If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice.
DO NOT REPLY to crabs, nodraws, retards that whine about how hard drawing is or talent debates and instead focus on posted works!

Now, can you turn this into a comic?
Better yet, can you write something that would be actually fun as a comic?
You're right, being able to write is a gift. Nothing wrong with cultivating it. Look at all these phoneposting zoomers seethe at anyone who types more than two sentences and accuse them of AI since they can't fathom someone still being able to afford a real keyboard.

>Dorian Iten - Accuracy Guide
If a /beg/ should learn any fundamental, it's proportions (the ability copy something as accurately as possible).

Don't do meme exercises like straight lines (see video of my useless straight lines), cubes, ellipses, etc.
Don't waste your time with fundamentals like gesture/figure drawing, anatomy, or perspective.

Learn to copy what you see in front of you first, above all, and THEN move onto other fundamentals.

I wasted years doing LITERALLY everything else except that and made absolutely no progress. Learn how to copy and save yourself the 6-7 years it took me to figure this out.

Bridgeman is honestly pretty good.
Maybe not as a first ever book on drawing, but as a material to understand the body and get used to breaking it down, I thought it was good. His head construction didn't click with me though.

Some feet drawings to show my proof of copying/proportions being king. My first few feet drawings were god-awful and it only took me 50 iterations to get to this point. If I shot for 100 it would've been better.

Only after you can draw something decently just by observation alone can you THEN move onto more complicated shit like form/perspective/anatomy. Doing so before is a complete waste of time and you'll just waste >>7899990 years like I did which you can't get back.
>>7899989
It was Peter Han who convinced me to waste years doing gay exercises. Otherwise I would've never done it.

Boxes, perspective, anatomy, gesture, figure, etc., are all fundamentals you learn AFTER you can draw (copy) decently. I know this because I did ALL of those mentioned for YEARS and didn't improve in the slightest.
>No amount of boxes will make you good at drawing.
>"But I can't even draw a straight line so I can't draw..."
>Have fun making your trash art 3D with perspective!
>Good luck with anatomy, that's useless for /beg/s too. Sternocleidomastoid says what?
>Gesture? Lmao, those scribbles will only be the most effective way of wasting paper.
Just learn to copy well.
I did that when I first started but gave it up because I couldn't draw from heckin imagination. I assumed all artists drew from imagination and I wasn't a real artist unless I could do that too. Now I realize my pre-beg self had it right all the time.

Literally the bellcurve meme...

>>7899996
>stinky
Speaking of the sticky, why the FUCK does it gloss over the ability to copy within the first 1/10th of the article? It's literally THE fundamental that will that will make you not appear to be /beg/ yet it's speedran for stupid shit like drawing from imagination.

WHY DRAW A BOX SOOO HATED?
>>
>>7900005
because its freaking useless
beginners just want to draw muh anime and big tits which you can learn by just copying and studying other artists
draw a box is only good when you're actually good at drawing from observation already and want to make your drawings pop more and seem more realistic, they're not going to help you go from symbol drawing to good art
its erroneously advertised to beginners when it doesn't help them in the slightest
>>
>>7900007
isn't that that is a " Dynamic Sketching " course? what so special about it?

>Dynamic Sketching
Absolute meme course that teaches you that if you can draw straight lines and form that this will magically help you draw better. Of course, like every other artist who started drawing as a child, he failed to realize that you need the prerequisite of the ability to copy before any of that stuff is actually useful to you. Hence my gripe with 99% of art instruction. Without the ability to copy (proportions), most art instruction does absolutely nothing for a /beg/.

The line exercise is useful as a 15 minute warmup for begs for like the first 2 or 3 weeks. It's funny as fuck when people like funschizo and you do it for years though.
>>
>>7900013
To be honest, everything in this world is a box. And when it's not a box it's a sphere, but a sphere is 66% of a box anyways.
