Aaaaaaaa! My EYES! YOU BASTARD!(Not responsible for self inflicted injuries)
Now THAT'S out of the way,I can toss up what I want. Like these storyboards.
I've seen your shit throught the years and I never really cared, it just looks like fetishistic autist schizo drawings . But the text, visual narrative and composition man... it's so bad have you ever in your life read a fucking comic dude? or do you waste all your time drawing you mental porn? honestly I don't give a shit about your art I know you're some kind of retard and a lost cause , but fix the rest at least
I'm not reading all that shit. If i wanted wordswordswords I'll pick up a book. The art has zero appeal too, everything just looks grimy and not in a good, underground comics-type way.
I don't think you understand what a storyboard is, schizo anon.
>>8016023If you look at it,its doodled in a Comic Journal, and I was forced to stuff the narrative into prerendered panels. And I wanted to be experimental for my own benefit. And lastly these are STORYBOARDS. Ideas flung down on paper haphazardly for later refining and redoing. And NOT the work itself. For instance, I did storyboards for the first 30 strips of this story, and from that I made strips like these. And the final product is not the same as the storyboard either. It's a tool that I actively encourage new artists to use.
This is a fragment of the storyboard from that story. It captures a moment harsh and raw in the narrative, and once I would get to it, I would draw each bit separately and through Photoshop Legerdermain make this into a comic like the other. Now do you see the importance?
>>8016037>>8016039This guy
And someone mor competent than I is interested in the story,so here am the containment field.
I will post the rest later on my way to work.
>>8016023I like this shit. Let the dude have his thread.
>>8016042I'm really trying to read but your writing is so broken and unclear that it's really hard, it's not pleasant to read this at allIt's like trying to watch a movie but the audio is corrupted to a point where you just stop watchingAnd what I am able to read it just seems like convoluded rambling, it doesn't feel stylistic or funny it's just tiring and annoying>>8016037This I can read but it's just awfully done, no taste, no skillIt's just garbage, there's absolutely nothing there that's done correctlyAnd this lineart really shows how low your skills are while you try to hide poor technical skill under endless detail and texture and that's the only gimmick you have managed to pull off in order to get anyone to give any complimentsFuck, it's kinda sad but you're also so delusional and lazy in terms of learning and improving that you kinda deserve to be in this situationYou don't even know what a storyboard is and the craziest thing is that you're a middle aged dude and not some naive high schooler
>>8016037SOVL
>>8016042Bro, you shit all over Peril. Keep doing what you're doing. Just avoid taking over threads too often
>>8016037
Is this weird? Yes.Does the author have issues? Probably yeah, but thats a requirement for art. All in all this is cool as its own weirdly cool thing. Solid outsider art vibes, kinda wanna see the current art just to see if and what changed since 2024.
>>8016076You should lurk more. He posts whatever he makes all over this board.
>>8016076Can you actually say what's going on in these pages? You clearly didn't even attempt to read it
>>8016076>just to see if and what changed since 2024.OP made this in 1983, he's clearly a permabeg who doesn't have the capacity to improve
>>8016087Is this the infamous "Gary"? I've seen that name came across randomly many times in this board.
>>8016066The person who this thread is intended for does manage to read my bad writing. And why is it bad?Because these are Storyboards and intended for no one but myself. And now, for someone who likes it enough so far to make fan art like this. Quick, clean, competent, and by some miracle, Enthusiastic. I want him to see the story so far so he might try his hand at doing it.
>>8016095Mea culpa. But I have been using a GT overlapping during high school.
>>8016141
Back to the show. And once again, this isn't the final result, just a shooting script.
And that is as far as it's gotten. I did two more pages, with far more detailing in the panels with the intent of adding word balloons afterwards in some app.
And a fresh photo of the other.
It started with this, btw. A portrait of Cassandra as something to draw. What's she doing? Making magic. What kinda magic? Invent a visual metaphor for the effect. Have the Professor admire it. Dialog springs into their mouths, and a conversation sprouted around their portraits like mushrooms.
The only thing about this guy I haven't been able to figure out is why he hangs around /ic/ and not /i/.Dude's a schizo for sure. I can understand that he's lonely and frustrated, it comes out in his art, but he seems sincere in his art.So why does he seem to exclusively post on the board that hates art the most?
>>8016704wait theres another art board? tf is "oekaki?" is it less dead than this one? also yes schizo unc clearly has a troubled life.
>>8016141Thanks anon! Don't worry your writing is totally readable, it may be hard for people on their phones maybe. You're actually correct in your assessment of how an storyboard should look. Your work here fits that perfectly..About me trying to attempt at doing your magnum opus here, I really don't feel qualified for that. Your work has SOVL, as others said many times. No one can replicate that. I do simple coom, devoid of any complexity, commitment or seriousness. Your style is so baroque and it has that rough "indie comic" and retro Gothic Darkness from the 70s/80s, you shouldn't let anyone re-do your style.About picrel, I did a homage to one of my favorite panels in the comic that you posted here. That panel was hot for some reason lol. I see you have fun doing these stories, you should keep doing more of these "storyboards" making new tales.About my "spin-off" comic I will post it here I guess, and I'll keep posting new pages if I'm allowed to. My story is supposed to have many sex scenes, and even though I made the girl human, saving those ears and the "button nose", I'm not sure if I'm in the clear. So probably I will be deterred to finish it here. We will see.
>>8016704>>8016706/i/ is way more dead than this board. If you send this poor guy there he will rope himself drown in a deeper depression. Here at least you have feedback, even if it is just insults and mockery. Sometimes what you need is a kick in the teeth to get your shit together.
>>8016745his output is good atleast. he just needs to work on form and line weight, make his characters more readable before doing stories
Schribblefurry anon has a cool style but I also have to admit it's messy, all over the place and also unappealing and not inviting me to read the story
>>8016774Getting inside the mind of one the weirdest schizos in this board should be enough incentive to take a look at it.
>>8016780I'd rather look at Crumb's, Kago's, or Zaskòrski's unhinged comics though. There's so much cool stuff out there with appealing art. Also, I'd rather get into the mind of Darger if I could single out one schizo I had to understand.I think the furryscribble schizo could produce some interesting comics if he studied more how others worked and if he actually spent time on making layouts beforehand. It looks like he plans his works poorly and improvises most of it.
Also, I think the drawings could benefit from a teensy tiny bit less hatching. And I say this as this board's Number One Gorey Fan
>>8016784one thing no one mentions to this guy is where are the shadows? the rendering? if you have something to show, show it
>>8016823That's the top landing of a wide open stair. Not a wall.
>>8016824i was talking about the op's art not goreys lol. he can learn from gorey
>>8016823His technicsl skills are near zero, I don't think he has actually studied anything and took "just draw" as serious adviceSame with those kim jung gi wannabes who have very low technical skill but they think being able to draw crude figures and shitty backgrounds in fisheye perspective makes them special
bump
PAGE 1Alright I just finished the 7th page, so I'll post the seven pages in a row here. I fixed a couple tiny details in a couple pages too.
PAGE 2
PAGE 3
PAGE 4
PAGE 5HERE>>>8016141
PAGE 6
PAGE 7I'll see if I can keep up this pace.. or how far can I go with the naughtiness.. It's supposed to be a romantic tale more than anything, I hope.. lol
>>8016016Anon how old are you unironically, everything about this screams that you were teenage if not an adult in 80s. I feel like im looking dark crystals fanart not to bully you.
>>8017070I think he's in his 50s. Doesn't mean it's too late for him to improve though
>>8017057>>8017059>>8017060>>8017061>>8017067>>8017069I'ma be real with you, you've got way too much text, especially the narration. A lot of it can be simplified, or excised completely with the art taking up the role of it.I also think your strip format might be holding you back. You could probably have some more dynamic panels and compositions if you were using a standard full page format.
>>8016855>took "just draw" as serious adviceIt is serious advice. This guy's drawings are unappealing, but he has an artistic outlet and distinctive style nonetheless, while all you have is 4chan posts.
>>8017199It's true that drawings are better than no drawings. But the next step is to work on making better drawings because appealing drawings are better than unappealing drawings
>>8017181Thanks for the feedback anon! Actually, all of those points continue to be brought up time and time again, and I keep explaining each one every time, lol. I used to do vertical comic format, wich of course allows better figure composition and more varied and dynamic poses. But that amount of "artistic freedom" becomes unmanageable. A vertical page becomes incredibly lengthy I could be working on it for days, and after is done I end up absolutely drained. And the standard comic page format requires too much thought on the lay out, you have to take your time to do a proper comic page. So I need brutal and shitty boundaries and limitations to force myself to get one of these pages finished within a day. It's the only way. At least for me. I can't afford to spend too much time with this. And about the text, that's the thing that I love the most, that's why I left that blank space above, to fill it with text, if I can, lol. People seem to deny themselves the pleasure and joy of indulging themselves, with the things THEY like and savor the most.A quick WIP on page 8... I'm gonna take a nap.. he he
I would like to draw my graphic novel in strip form while videoing myself in hyperlapse, then dissect, color, tweak and embellish the raw art into hardcopy books. But we don't always get to do what we like.Last year I couldn't draw until November or so. And the variables that were responsible for this are still in play, so I have been doing studies. Pencil followed by ballpoint, ballpoint followed by gel ink, pencil followed by gel ink. And trying to render ivory hair over white fur obscuring a dark wood chair and a holographic image too. Things best figured out by the attempting. And I put the results here. When I do something For Realzies, you will definitely know it. It will be on a tshirt for sale.
>>8017270Do you have any response to the critique given earlier?
>>8017255>And about the text, that's the thing that I love the most, that's why I left that blank space above, to fill it with text, if I can, lol. People seem to deny themselves the pleasure and joy of indulging themselves, with the things THEY like and savor the most.Guess I can't argue with that, carry on.
>>8017330As I await news of life changing events this week, I will have a better idea of what I will have in the way of drawing time. And once I know that, I can direct my efforts. I composed my last eight or so works randomly, starting in a spot, drawing stuff, branching outwards and composing a situation, then stuffing the negative spaces with background material. To get some rendering in so once I get everything inked then properly scanned, I can proceed with other areas of my education long put off.Like this thing. A finalist in my tshirt design project, this will be dissected as its colored, and I will see what Photoshop legerdermain can do to give it the faux 3D look its background will have. And I need to see how my style needs to alter to accommodate the expected Photoshop treatment. Which means doing other things first to learn such answers.
>>8017395Negative space is important for the brain to grab onto shapes. You should embrace having a few values and larger contrast in a drawing
>>8016016How many threads about your art will you make?
>>8016039Last time you claimed it's not a comic, but a storyboard
>>8017181I disagree with this anon.Peril perfected his method and I think it's the future of comics. The low exposition, terse dialogue garbage is for the Dobson's of this world
>>8017134wow, really? 50 year olds use 4chan?
>>8017512Only the insane onesOne day OP will be this century's Henry Darger
>>8017512People who were 20 when 4chan launched are 40 now, anon
>>8017512This is an old style website for older generations. Most people here are 30+ nowadays.
>>8017553Yeah, like being a 30+ I can't stand tiktok not even for a minute, I guess youngsters would feel the same about this site. For them it must feel like staring at a wikipedia article.
>>80175534chan is a millennial website not a Gen X website
>>8017069 >> PAGE 8 DONE>>8017470Thanks anon! As you pointed it out, in this last page I didn't had any extra text for these panels, so I took the time to come up with some words to describe the action.. and as I said, I enjoy the FUCK out of that. It's like solving a hot entertaining puzzle. Why would anyone reject any added value opportunity of any sort? If some are not interested in the text, just don't read it. But to "hate it", and to demand the non existence of it.. it just leaves me staggered. It's like there's actually a biological difference from people from decades ago, and the "new people". I'm not too old, but I got to live the visual novel craze, and the fanfic era, wich is all about story and world immersion. You wanted more, always more, to drown your brain into that experience. Reading books for these people must be a real nightmare.>>8016016Woah, I didn't pay proper attention to this OP cover art, this is freaking NICE. The way those two girls are placed in the background and that cup occupies the forefront so successfully. That's a freaking success in composition.
>>8017668This is unpleasant and ugly
>>8017668This anon clearly has skill but I have to second that it looks not very appealing.
>>8017665So?, Aren't millennials on their 30's?
>>8017457That was a storyboard from this story. It was my original Product, something that I was trying to create in my spare time, and employing Photoshop Legerdermain to make this possible. A once a week upload to keep up traffic, and designed to be offered to newspapers and magazines, a story told in a standard format.
>>8017512I'm 61. And knew about 4chan from hunting down interesting looping GIFs to chop up for animated paintings and doodads to sell in Second Life. I used to lurk at the Daily Rotten because the inmates had cool images I wouldn't know where to find on my own. The trail led to 4chan. I never saw /b/ which means my FBI file is only gigabytes and not terabytes. :D
>>8018042Even at 61 it's not impossible to improve your art, fren.
>>8017668 >> PAGE 9 DONE!>>8017679I try my best! I'll improve! I promise! Do you have some advice for more pleasant and pretty designs?>>8017687THANK YOU SO MUCH ANON! What's your favorite artist? Maybe I can get some good pointers...>>8018042I've never got into Second Life, it scared me for some reason.
>>8018690Maybe you should say gasp instead of smirk at the very end? The text contradict the panel there, it took me out of the story a bit.Good shiit otherwise
>>8017057>>8017059>>8017060>>8017061Is this the same artist as OP?That's a totally different style.
>>8018694lol no, that one is "peril." op is "gary." or atleast i think thats what they go by. both post alot of art on this board.
>>8018690 >>PAGE 9 "Fixed">>8018692I added your suggestion. I knew about that, but I let is slip just because of laziness. Originally she was supposed to smirk at it, but she needs to say something else and that won't work in the last panel. So the smirk expression will be at the start of the next page. This is the problem with "my system", I got everything so extremely "mechanized" that once I "GO" then I won't stop and I won't deviate from anything that I got set up (rough sketch and text wise) till I finish the page. "No second takes" lol. But you're right, I was expecting nobody to call me out in this dark lonely corner of the board. xDThank you!!!>>8018694No, I just did some fanart of Gary's OC's in this thread >>8012009>>8012666 and then I had an idea for a little fanfic "spin-off" tale on Milo reminiscing about a romantic memory wich left him brokenhearted. I just want to finish this story, it may take 20 pages in total.>>8018700Yeah Peril-fag is the name I got in /Beg/ lol
You should make drawings with more appeal. Watch anime to learn how.
>>8017665SA adjacent and most SA posters are 50+ now, Moot was underageB& when he got bullied from that forum for being a weeb and he's 45 now, if OP is telling the truth he's not even the oldest known poster (that's Epstein! yay lets go 4chinz!). These are the people that shaped the entire internet, it's humor, layouts, communities and many other things. Your art is amazing , really like these >>8017395>>8017270>>8016037 your art is obviously not /beg/ at all lol, this is /adv/ or /int/ , don't listen to the jealous trolls most appreciate your artwork
>>8019503I remember being part of the wave of AOL users that ruined the internet for the first time. Maybe that's why I'm soft on zoomers for putting the final nail in the coffin
>>8018707huge fan, redlineanon
>>8018707 >> PAGE 10 DONE!>>8019678LMAO!!! Appeal anon? Is that you? Am I redline anon? or is that you? I haven't made a redline in years!
>>8019683I know you as redline anon.>appeal anon?nahjust wanted to say i'm a big fanlove yourself (draw more nuns)
>>8019503Not beg.Lol.
>>8019685>(draw more nuns)THANK YOU ANON!!! I think I know you as the "nun-anon" lol.Yeah nuns are hot. If I do some nun story I can't use this shitty "comic" style. I would have to use a MUCH bigger canvas to make some really good nuns. And I don't have that quality and amount of free time right now.In the meanwhile here you have a Sparky nun. I don't know how nuns and religion fit in Gary's "Prickles world". Maybe they can exist in the form of "priestesses" I don't know.>>8019732He has a very particular style, you can't put him simply on "beg". He's in that "fairy-tale / fantasy illustration genre". That type of artists stay in a genre of their own during their entire career. This guy as most people, had to sacrifice art and keep it in the back of his priorities to actually take care of subsistence in the real world out there. Same as me, same as everyone else. The difference that I made was to try a Digital tablet and actually find it fun and easy to use. Otherwise I wouldn't be drawing nothing at all.
Everybody always tells me my art is ugly so I guess I can post here.
BINGO. Who's missing in the oldfag schizo roster? pixel schizo anon?
>>8019767It’s like a permabeg justice league.
>the crustacean recoils at the thought of someone having funngl i'd kill myself if i was like that
>>8019770Team UNCLE for the fucking win! Look at these slick cool cats, drippin hip and style.
>>8019765NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Duuuude you were part of the team already! Come back here! Damn it!
>>8019754Yes, years of setbacks, problems and misfires. Even now I am waiting for news that will determine what shape my life takes in the future. Then I can point my efforts properly. In the meantime, I will figure out art through the random projects that I have been doing, and hope. What I wanted to do is this :https://youtu.be/tCE1GQHCdDc?is=9kjWONeNdZ-aDi12https://youtu.be/UoTBkDRWCSw?is=4wCQQoD7js4p2bX5https://youtu.be/D2gEr0dIf1k?is=BEekoinKkLhGk9AuA story that unfolds before your eyes. The channel needs work, the videos need soundtracks, and these are things I need to learn how to do for myself. But once done, I would be happy watching a tale grow as I once chased a story I wasn't expecting for over a decade over 180 strips.
>>8019814>starts drawing without a planYeah, that's what it looks like. You should learn how to properly plan your comics and not just go for it if you want to have a flying chance at publishing your things somewhere. Even if you have cancer then that's no excuse.
>>8019962The idea is to let the viewer see the story spontaneously evolving. The Photoshop legerdermain afterwards will make it sellable.
>>8016066>He didn't read the spark keeper arcNGMI
>>8020026>The idea is to let the viewer see the story spontaneously evolvingThat's just an excuse for being lazy.
>>8016162Mucho texto. I'm not going to read all that shit when the art isn't even good.
>>8019683 >> PAGE 11 DONE!This one came out better than the previous one I think. Maybe is a placebo effect derived from staying in the "zone" 5 hours every day, the build up inertia makes me push quality a little bit further without noticing any actual "extra" effort. I hope I can finish this story before getting crushed lol>>8019814WOW! You really do that with no plan or previous sketch?! With a pen?! DUDE, that 's quite the performance feat. It's a crime that you didn't get to explore your art skillz sooner. I hope you get that chance.>>8020035LOL! Exactly xDDD I love this board.>>8020086It's crazy to me when someone rejects a mystery or a puzzle of any kind, specially if it is an artistic one.>>8020471NICE!!! Go on.. please...
>>8020949 >> PAGE 11 FIXEDDAMN IT! I'm sorry! I had to fix a couple mistakes, again...
>>8020995>*PSST!*YOU'RE IN THE WRONG THREAD.javascript:quote('952789129');
>>8020999Target Market LOCATED!
>>8020085The idea revolves around SPONTANEOUSLY WRITING A STORY.Being 60+ now, I have conceived a business model for my artistic output, which is to grow a fanbase with consistently timely uploads and sell compilation hardcopy books and tshirts. And since the premise is at least uncommon, it will be a worthy monument to the zeitgeist. I have yet to scan the raw art, so I have not explored what I can do with it in Photoshop. I guess I will need to assemble a library of imagery for the colored background elements. It's all about planning. And having the time for plans.
>>8020086Well, its not meant for public consumption, just a thing that I used in a normie draw your comic life diary to justify the $10 I spent on it 4 years ago. I'd not confine myself to this artificial restriction of pre rendered panels to tell my stories For Real, but it was part of the fun composing it. Which brings me to...>>8020970You! :DYour skills impress me. And I am happy the premise has you inspired. I would not stop what you are doing now, but I will still extend the invitation to retell my story. As an education for you, to force yourself to interpret a writer's story but keep the ideas and images faithful to the source material. I am curious what you will make of it.
What’re they gonna do, ban me?
>>8021153Shirts doko? i want my spark and ogres shirt.
>>8021320Nothing wrong with that. It's the rough from which you will make the real drawing from.
PAGE 12 WIP.. he he..>>8021164>I will still extend the invitation to retell my story. Thanks anon!!!! That's very tempting, you're right, I'm curious too about the result of that. I would like to do it, But, I really want to finish this "side-story". I'll see what I can do, I need to plan for it. I was thinking that I could use your pages as templates and just "re-draw" everything using the same composition. We will see!>>8021320Lucky "Spark Keeper" enjoyer.. lol... I'm thinking that probably I could be banned first. I'll have to censor the sexy scenes in this story in "manga style" pixelation or something to avoid that. The love story about Milo and Sparky is more important than their sex scenes really.>>8021065Cool retro style!
>>8021853It's in the cards.
>>8020970 >> PAGE 12 FINISHED>>8021733NICE!!!! Saved for the ref folder!>>8021915Welp, the "intention" is there, wich is the driving element. Let's see if everything else in our reality's realm want's to align as well.
>>8021853>”Spark Keeper”What?
>>8022051The storyboards above are about a young human male being gifted three anthromorph slave girls as part of the culture of the rich and powerful. When a boy hits puberty a slave girl is assigned to be his " spark keeper", to tend the spark of budding manhood, by being his fuck toy.
PAGE 13 WIP... hopefully we should be half way into the story, but knowing me I'll probably be adding more "exxxtra" pages...>>8022051OP tells about that here >>8016017
>>8022359Her face looks kinda weird in profile
>>8022589Is this one better? Yeah, I wasn't sure about it. I'm glad I'm posting these WIP's, otherwise I would have go on with that face. Also I show there the difference in working area size, If I work at a big sized canvas (as I would like to) I can do MUCH better stuff, but then, time and effort would increase exponentially. Like, a page that takes me 5hs to do at a height of 1400pixels, at 3000+pixels would take me 16HS or more. And these projects would become undoable time wise. That's why figures in some panels look so basic and "thick lined", I'm working at a tiny scale, but it allows me to do this incredibly fast xD
>>8022009 >> PAGE 13 FINISHED!We're getting there.. hee-hee..
>>8022690That's way better
