in developed world, only usa economy is doing wellworld economy is a mess right nowimf predicted south korea's growth rate this year to be in the mid-2% rangeand that's one of the highest growth rates in developed countriesso i laughed at thatbecause the growth rate of 2% is some of lowest growth rate in asia
They used to. In America, hard work in the right job used to reliably slot you into the top 10% of income. You could be a salesman, or a tradesman, or some kind of niche symbol analyst, or a middle manager and reliably clear anywhere from $100k to $200k, which was a great wage basically anywhere in this country. For the entering the workforce after 2008 crowd though, that’s not remotely true. $100k to $200k is no longer a great wage, and frankly, the work is a lot more intolerable than it used to be. My Dad still has no idea how to use Excel. He never had to learn and never will. Meanwhile, I’ve had to live in Excel 24/7. My Dad also got to disconnect reliably at around 5-7pm everyday for his entire career. When I first started my career, it was normal to get work calls and emails into the early morning hours and in that career that is just how it was forever. The seniors didn’t have to deal with that and never had to deal with that. Even if you went to Harvard and ended up in a highly earning career like banking or medicine, this is just how it is. So yeah, for the 35+ or 40+ crowd, there is a relatively higher level ambition but there was higher expected rewards. For the younger people, there’s no reward and so there’s basically no ambition.
Over for us
>>196475294To be fair, Elon doesn’t seem to get it because he actually pays his hard working employees fairly well. But most other corporations are constantly trying to figure out how to pay their employees as little as possible. You can actually earn a high salary at Tesla but not in most companies. He doesn’t seem to realize that.
yeah, man it's amazing, Portuguese people are a mystical race, very magical, the Portuguese are the only people that1) Get sick due to air currents.2) Die if they take a shower after eating.3) Lazy and unproductive in native land, but magically become productive and worthy of higher wages when they travel abroad.
>>196472761I have one of this and I have to say, I’m pretty unhappy. A man can only play so many video games until he’s forced to realize that his life is still pointless…Also, the distraction of digital nomading isn’t much of an option anymore because it’s too expensive.
>>196475581>2) Die if they take a shower after eating.wtf I didn't know that superstition came from Portugal... Were you also told drinking milk after eating grapes (or vice versa) will give you a treco? Or that eating watermelon and then showering is bad for you?
