I'd say anything more than 3 hours is a long drive but less than that is not so bad.

>just a city boy
>>
anything more than half an hour and I'm not going
>>
>>199170663
Fake American
>>
>>199170635
Anything over an hour is gruesome and I've never drove a day in my life, I'd rather sit at home or find something in my city. I've also never left my state.
>t. Berliner
>>
>>199170635
anything under two hours is a day trip, anything longer than 4 hours is a weekend trip
between 2-4 isn't something I wanna drive unless it's visiting family
>>
>>199171068
Yeah more than 2 hours i get cranky and avoid going those places
If its like 6 hours i can just suck it up and go for a weekend
10hours are like once a year
>>
>>199170635
3 or 4 hours. Anything shorter is a milk run.

Do European kids on road trips play the licence plate game? Are 12 hour road trips even a thing in Europe?
>>
>>199171159
>>199171068
For the American even sitting in a car for 3 hours is nearly impossible physical feat.
>>
>>199171185
>Are 12 hour road trips even a thing in Europe?
For eastern europeans who work in the western countries
>>
>>199171185
They were probably all beaten retarded playing Punch Buggy.
>>
>>199171198
No its just almost nothing is worth that drive unless its a large event or multi day vacation
>dude drive 3 hours to uh...go to a flea market and a museum
Those are 90 minutes away too
>>
>>199171209
God forbid you stray too far from your fridge, you fat fuck.
>>
>>199171233
Uhh ok man
>>
>>199171254
>Uhh
Tried to stand up, eh?
>>
>>199170635
2 hours or more.
>>
>>199171209
Okay but what if you want to go to the grand canyon? You drive there, right? Anything else would be un-American
>>
>>199171198
I know this is bait but you really should try to walk around at least every hour of driving for like 5 min
>>
>>199171412
You should really try that sentence again.
>>
>>199171208
>Punch Buggy
It's called slug bug
Wtf
>>
i'd say 4 hours is a long drive
>>
>>199170635
over an hour is long drive
>>
>>199171460
every hour you drive, stop and walk 5 minutes
>>
>>199171185
>12h road trips
The last and possibly only time I did that was driving from Prague to Zagreb which took around 8-9 hours, could have been more if we took more stops. Other than that I only travel no more than ~200km at a time because everywhere I ever want to go to is within that range
>>
>>199171185
When I was a child, I had a family trip to the Black Sea. It takes 35 hours in one way without stops.
>>
>>199170635
2 hours or the over are a long drive.
My country is prone to traffic congestion due to its high population density.
Therefore, the train network is well developed, and a small car suitable for short distances is sufficient.
>>
The longest trip I've ever done was from Barcelona to Galicia
>>
We understand, the USA is a big country.
>>
Above 30 minutes
I don't like driving. If it's more than 30 minutes away I just stay at home.
>>
>>199171185
>Are 12 hour road trips even a thing in Europe?

From southern Norway to arctic Norway = 35 hours
>>
>>199171907
Now that's a real road trip. How long would it take you to drive to Vladivostok?
>>
longest drive i've ever done was about 1.5 hours, and about 80 miles
>>
>>199170635
We get from one end of the country to another in 3 hours
>>
>>199170635
One time I drove 2 hours north for a welding job that took me about 15 minutes then 2 hours back
I made around $300 for it
>>
>>199170635
More than 2 hours I'd say, like less than that you can comfortably come and go on the same day if you're like visiting a neighboring city
>>
>>199170635
Generally speaking I would say 2 hours or more but it kind of depends on the purpose of the drive. A shorter drive can be a long drive if you're just going to get milk.
>>
>>199173665
According to Yandex Maps, around 5 days without stops.

We have the infamous "balik Raya" Eid rush where 2 million people from the West coast drive to the East coast through ONE (1) mountain pass, which has only ONE (1) tunnel each way. The distance is only 500 km but it can take up to 13 hours. A few years ago it was so bad that it took me 2 fucking days.
>>
>>199171185
I literally drove from southern France to the arctic and back a month ago

Last year I drove to Estonia
>>
I'd say anything more than 3 hours is a long drive but less than that is not so bad.

above 80km

kirsisääski tullu kämppään säheltämään
>>
I dont have a car (never will)
>>
>>199170635
Anything longer than 30 minutes is a long drive and only underdeveloped corrupt countries would think any different.
>>
>>199170635
12h or more is a long drive.
The 5-6h from Toronto to Montreal - or my home (an hour north) to Cleveland - isn't something I'd do on a whim, but I could make the return trip in the same day with enough preparation.
>>
>>199170635
i guess around 20-30 hours? not many people go from the south/southeast to the north/northeast and vice versa, which would be much longer, and need ferries and alternative routes through different biomes
>>
Haifa to Tel Aviv. Not because it's too long, but the traffic jams are insane
>>
Over 6hrs
>t. Indian
>>
>>199183578
Aye, I'd take 18h on open road over 60m in traffic.
>>
>>199183721
Well yeah, any more and you'd hit water.
>>
More than 20 minutes.
>>
7.5hours to Rome
around 8 hours doing a bunch of mountain passes
>>
>>199170635
I'd also consider the 3 hour mark to be when a drive becomes long. Longest I've done myself was about about 5 with 1 or 2 stops. Google maps says it's 2 hours because that route is by car on a motorway, I went by motorbike which is a lot longer
>>
>>199184554
*Motorbikes were not allowed on the motorway. Had to go a circuitous route through the countryside and villages and shit
>>
>>199171185
Used to visit my grandparents across the country when I was a kid. It's a 16 hour (one way) drive in the summer and 20+ in the winter.
>>
>>199184682
running maps on Sweden...
You're not kidding about 'across the country' are you?
Malmo to... the Finnish border?
>>
>>199184831
Kalmar to Gällivare.
>>
>>199184890
I wasn't far off! ... ... I was in the right country at least.

Yeah, that's a trek. About the same as here to Halifax or Winnipeg... or Florida.
>>
>>199185044
Yeah used to take a couple days to get up there. I've spent many nights sleeping in the back of our Volvo wagon.
>>
>>199185155
I've done Winnipeg in a day, and back two days later...
>"Our rental company in Winnipeg went under. Can you get us a Mesa halfstack and a bass amp for Friday night?" "I can... you realize it's Wednesday afternoon right? You're going to have to call me dad after this."
I never did hook up with his mom.
>>
>>199171185
what a stupid question
>>
>>199170635
anything that is more than two days. it takes two days just to cross Texas btw.
>>
>>199185848
It's 12h from Shreveport LA to Ciudad Juarez, and about the same from Beaumont to Clayton NM... What route are you taking that's two days to cross Texas?
>>
>>199171185
Euro license plates are completely soulless but as kids we used to similar things counting cars by colors and stuff you see beside the road.
>>
>>199171068
True
>>
>>199171233
the most annoying person I ever met was a canadian.
