I'm from the UK originally and grew up on airbases and rural places so moving to a fuck off big city in the US was an eye opener to how fucking filthy it can be, as well as the people. To see the best of America, you basically have to avoid its major population centers. As for Japan, it was like fucking paradise. Public transport not infested with violent niggers, streets cleaned, helpful people, trains and buses that were a pleasure to ride and didn't stink of piss and shit. I drove up to the Nagano springs from Tokyo and every driver kept speed and distance with one another, moved lanes in good time when hazards were ahead and had actual driving discipline. People bit their own hand off to help you if you needed directions or assistance with something and even the cities were nice to be in. More rural areas still had their rustic charm and the wedding ceremony I had was like some fantasy, it was so far removed from what I have to put up with in the US usually.

>>199207425Yes, thankfully but the last time I was there was to visit family for the first time in 5 years and after covid restrictions lifted and a lot of the smaller villages and towns looked a little worse for wear with a lot of pub closures, the kinds that were the centerpiece of thatched, shire-like quaintness. Cities are a lost cause and the greenbelts are slowly being eaten up by development so who can say for how long. Some places were pretty much the same after all that time, others, like where my folks live had new housing developments that spoiled once beautiful views.
