When I was a kid I thought there only 3 languages exist in the world, Japanese, English and Chinese.

I thought all white people speak English and all other East Asians speak Chinese, and black and brown people are unintelligible so they can only make random sounds like barking animals.

Is there anyone who believed in the similar thing? (Your own language instead of Japanese for example)

I don't want to excuse, but this is probably American influence. When I was kid I saw an American TV show, in the show white people are dubbed in Japanese but Mexican people were only speaking like "paraparaparappa" and all white people were tilting their heads in confusion so I thought Mexican people can't speak human language.
