When Germanic tribes went to southern Europe to crush rome, slavs moved in and lived there for like 1500 years. The slavs were then crushed during the northern crusade and retreated back towards Poland.So yes they are originally Germanic lands.

Literally the only argument of the "Gothic" theory is that people who lived in Poland before 6th century were buried in a "German" way which means nothing because people of different cultures and languages can have similar burial ceremonies, same like Poles, Filipinos and Chileans do. Even Tacitus explictly mentions that Vistula Veneti combined cultural traits of Germanics and Sarmatians but he hesitated to count them as part of this or that group.
