What age is too late to begin something?I'm 29 and I have always wanted to be a doctor.I studied engineering and I make good money, but every morning I wake up and my first thought is always "what if I had studied medicine?"I have friends that became doctors and I envy them so much.
>>200109372>What age is too late to begin something?when you're dead.Otherwise, it's never too late.
>>200109401This.
>>200109372>What age is too late to begin something?I'd the say the 60s
it’s 100% too late, it’s over, just give up
>>200109401yeah, 80yo can easily qualify to 100m final
>>200109372Cameraman meanwhile
If you want to be a world famous cerebral elite, it's 100% too late, doing anything intellectual is like doing competitive sports, if you're not there by the time you're 30 you'll never make it.Being comfortably middle class or upper middle class? Maybe 5 years of dedicated work that can be done anytime before the age of 55.
>>200109434this
>>200109372You only envy them because you see the end result, not what it took or what it requires constantly to mantain.
>>200109372I would say 35 is your last chance and at 40 it is over. If you dont got kids, you're broke and still work a shit job at 40 then just give up.
>>20010937228Sorry bud, better luck next life
>>200109434>>200110174>>200110205I knew it, it's too late.
>>200110174>If you dont got kids, you're broke and still work a shit job at 40 then just give up.I dont have kids. I'm broke. I work in grocery. I'm 40. What should I do then?
>>200110740Live with me
>>200109372It's late lil bro, for reals
>>200110174>>200110740Bullshit. If you don't have kids then you don't have extra mouths to feed. It would be over if you DID have kids, but without them it's piss easy to not be broke/to live comfortably on a budget or a fixed income. NEETs on welfare and 40yo smoke shop cashiers live like kings compared to someone with kids to feed of the same income level.
>>200110807What am I supposed to do now?
>>200109372100% depends on your financial situation. Do you have a safety net/family? If you can afford to stop working and study I'd go for it
>>200110903Stop defining yourself by the profession you have, for a start. Reflect about how you don't really want to be a doctor, but to join the prestige class doctors occupy in society. Which for me make you an asshole. I know for a fact you're not commited with the welfare aspects of being a doctor, because no one is. So, instead of jerking yourself off, actually do something. Which I doubt you'd achieve, you're from Costa Rica, no one from the families will let you do anything without them taking credit for it
>>200109372there is nothing stopping you, but you will have to get used to your peers being ~10 years younger than you.
>>200109372Never but change becomes increasingly harder.
>>200109511>Being comfortably middle class or upper middle class? Maybe 5 years of dedicated work that can be done anytime before the age of 55.How?
>>200109372No sé como es allí pero aquí a los 28 o algo así ponen límite para sacar radiología, creo que es porque tendrías que recibir ordenes de las enfermeras o alguna tontería así.
>>200109372Depends what. You're never really to old to pick up a new skill, though it might take longer if you're like 70. Medicine is a really fucking hard field. Probably harder even than law. Even if you start on the usual track a lot of people drop out or don't make it through. Things like nursing are less hard. Studying a language or instrument has practically no age limit.
>>200109372By 12 it's already too late.
>>200112666Nurses in California start at 6 figures with only 3 years of schooling, 4 at most.
>>200109478Olympics cameramen are the unsung heroes of our time.
>>200112666Let's say you're a shut in NEET who has never worked at 35. The first year can be spent getting your first job doing whatever, getting in the habit of working, managing your finances. The second year can be spent still working but moving around and networking for training opportunities, or going to community college on top of your work. Years 2-5 are spent in training and working, by the time you're on your fifth year you should be qualified and starting in a middle class career. Whether as a plumber, nurse, electrician, whatever.
>>200109372Please stop - we all you are some Gringo Sex-Tourist probably living with some Colombian hooker. Real Ticos cannot afford 4chan time.I hope you wind up like Brad Deering.
>>200112666There are plenty of opportunities that don't require large amounts of schooling and/or training. For context, Bezos started Amazon at 30 out of his garage. So whenever some fag tells you that your opportunities have run out, ignore them and keep climbing.
I'm 28 and I'm literally in the exact same position in life as when I was 18
