i found a better image where the small text is actually readable. the image you're seeing is not supposed to be amsterdam, but how the ring road around the city should look like. here it's more clear the old center on the right and the modern buildings on the left are seperated by the road, but it's not immediately obvious that's the road that is supposed to go around the old inner city unless you can read the smaller text.
ngl it's roughly how it actually went irl, at least in Brussels. been on that one at least a 100 times
