What did the English mean by this ?

They mean French "food" is awful. And they are right.
But also they are hypocrites - cause English "food" is even worse.

The only good food in Europe is Italian.

You're all getting this wrong.
The French food isn't bad, it just isn't there. The buffet ran out on the first day because the third world teams ate it all.
I read the Danish team arrived and found the buffet for the athletes nearly empty so they had to order food to the Olympic hotel.

>In the very serious “Times,” he declared that the meals were not “suitable”, severely lacking in protein, so much so that the English delegation called on a chef
Doesn't have much to do with French cuisine to be honest
>Olympics : a more vegetalized cuisine
>The result is menus available in four themes, starting with France, with for example a vegetarian bourguignon or a cod brandade on the menu.
>In the Asian part, athletes will be able to taste, among other things, minced pork with Thai basil garnished with basmati rice. In the Africa-Caribbean corner, honor will be given to the pan-fried peppers, onions, tomatoes and chili peppers or the shrimp sautéed with chermoula condiment. The last theme will be World Cuisines. On the menu in particular, lamb with its juice reduced with mint.
>The Sodexo group, which will employ a thousand people per day to feed the athletes
So basically they are getting microwaved cheap shit like in a school lunch, also it's vegan and has 0 fucking meat
We already knew this was the woke olympics but those retards forgot sports require eating more than grains and leaves

I thought first worlders just bring their own chefs and they set-up their own kitchens.

I highly doubt massive teams like Team USA and Team Chyna will eat in these same restaurants.

Sounds insanely expensive and like a logistical nightmare

>Are there any athletes that wind up bringing personal chefs or bringing only their own food with them?
>JL: So with Indian Wells, we’re contending with that a lot — there’s a couple of tennis players that are traveling with their private chefs and they rent homes. So the dynamic is they’ll rent all these very expensive homes in the area. And then there’s this coordination of having these chefs in their homes, and then the chefs coming with them to the tournament, bringing those dishes with them. And we have to figure out how we interact with their personal chefs to be able to provide that athlete’s specific meal during the tournament.
>EL: Because it’s so complicated, the International Committee has said no more private chefs. So we’ll see how that’s going to play out. I think every delegation was satisfied once everything was communicated about how much there will be on offer. It’s up to us now, like Jeff said, to ensure the quality of the ingredients and the flavors. Many of the teams have nutritionists, and often they will literally tell the athletes every day what they have to eat and where to find it so the athlete doesn’t have to think. And then we’ve been told really clearly there is the before and after, for the athletes when they get eliminated. That’s a very different vibe and the way they eat changes quite a bit.
