lads i made a thread about this but i'll shorten it so you don't have to bore yourselves:i'm learning arabic since my parents are arabic, but they didn't expose me to it much when i was young. therefore i started from a clean slate of english. it has been a difficult couple of years but i would say im around intermediate at arabic (not formal arabic, just regular day to day talk). the journey of learning arabic is really painful and discouraging, and i'm not about to sit here and pretend like i didn't cry a couple of times. i have spoken about this to my relatives, and they usually just say some cheap optimstic shit like "you're really good for your level!". learning this fucking language has caused me to lose motivation at everything else in my life. i would love to learn how to draw, but everytime i make a silly looking drawing i physically cringe at it. i feel really trapped since i don't want to learn this language and it really hurts me when i do, but i must learn it since my entire family is arabic. any advice /int/?
