Is made in India bad? I still have my iPhone 15 Pro Max but was thinking about upgrading

Its it just plain assembly? There would be no chemical processes that could endanger enviorment

I live half an hour away. I told that >Canadian who kept spamming those fake articles that I would visit the plant directly but he didn't respond after that.
>>201197180
So far it's assembly. But the Pegatron plant is being taken over by Tata to begin manufacturing atm. It's the second largest factory outside of China for now.
>>
>>201195158
TATA's unit and it was from three years ago lol when they first set up.
They're also setting up a semiconductor fab in Assam soon.
>>
>>201197207
Those plants indeed look like basic assembly with hands of workers. India would actually benefit from having full production with termal and chemical processes not just manual labour
>>201197343
Are these invesmtent (just assembly) regarded as industiralising/high tech investments in India
>>
>>201195158
Didn't sirs at a foxxconn plant revolt
>>
>>201197566
Progress would usually be slow if this were a government venture. But it's private companies that act as front for the govt doing it so these are actual investments. It's just a workaround for the notorious red tape the Indian govt is known for.

I hear that india cant industrialise probably because dalit peasants demand huge compensations on their land plots. Large companies simply lack enough land for their investments. Goverment invesment in infrastructure lags behind too. I heard "socialist China" just scams their farmers by buying their land for pennies then they give it out cheaply to foreign megacorps for cheap too
>>
>>201197923
They didn't pay the workers for overtime. So they rightfully burn the factory down. Another time they didn't provide lunch breaks for workers and they went on strike till Apple got it resolved by changing contractors.
The land and labour laws here are even worse for industries than even communist countries like China or Vietnam so these manufacturing companies think twice before investing.
>>
>>201199029
Yes. See >>201199029
The land laws still haven't been reformed even after opening the markets for foreign investments in 1991. A recent news was when the government decided to build a national highway through unoccupied land, >farmers built small shanties along the construction work claiming that it was their land and protested for compensation.
The project is now in hiatus till the government works around it.

Based. Making iPhones is more important than your fithy slums or farm or whatever.

>basic human rights abuse
Stop working for them then. Or install those suicide nets

>plastic abuse
Are you too retarded for landfills?

India can't industrialize because the caste system keeps them from making full use of their massive population.

American industry was driven by large markets but also by the public school system (and school lunches) which ensured that someone born into a poor family could still get rich through hard work and intelligence.

In many places in the world, including contemporary USA. If you're born poor you're basically doomed to be poor forever which greatly shrinks the population of potential innovators
>>
>>201201492
Land reform is a problem too. But that's a perpetual thirdie issue because the big shot land-owning people in government would also get hit by effective land reform laws so instead they just pass impotent or harmful land reform
>>
>>201201492
I have heard india has gazzilion of engineers that outnumber job postings by several folds. It seems like India isnt having labour problem but capital and land problem
