Theoretically, you can have an old car, but bureaucratically it is hell from the first moment you want to buy it, you have to pay a lot of taxes, you cannot drive it every day, and you will have every traffic patrol stopping you asking for your documentation to verify that you are driving an old car legally.

What the fuck? When did this happen and how? I could see Trudeau trying something like this but I wouldn't expect it from Mexico, or any thirdie country for that matter.

I remember one of our geography teachers mentioning that Mexico city accumulated a ton of smog and pollution due to its topography
is that why they passed that law, or just environmental zealotry

A Maserati Gran Turismo, Honda S2000, or Jaguar F-type. All of these have lost most of their value as used cars, so they are very attainable. But then parts availability is a problem for some, and repair price for the luxary brands.

I can’t believe you’d fucking call me strange. That’s honestly hurtful, and I didn’t expect that from you. Just because I don’t fit into whatever box you’ve decided is “normal” doesn’t give you the right to label me like that, asshole. Everyone has their quirks, but that doesn’t make them weird or less worthy of respect based on their superficial car choice. Maybe you should take a second to think about why you feel the need to judge someone for being different before throwing around words like that. Fuck you.

he is just dumb. air quality is easy to measure and you can identify what the air consist of.
my city is such positioned that on cold, dry and windstill days it looses all air exchange. its literally like living in a duststorm that doesnt move. its true not much of it today is hydrocarbons, its a fair bit of nox from diesels the rest is dust from the tarmac and ev's are just as bad there. so the air is better but the dust is worse bc of way more cars in total. you dont get cancer and led poisioning, you get asthma instead.
>>
>>203200334
American cities had serious issues with NOx pollution in the 70s which led to tighter regulations. You can look up photos from Los Angeles from back then, a particularly bad example of it.
Americans also drive newer cars and they do have environmental regulations that are actually on par with the EU, so if anything the US is an example of those regulations working.

>its a fair bit of nox from diesels the rest is dust from the tarmac and ev's are just as bad there.
EVs are even worse in that regard since they're so heavy the microparticles from tarmac and tyrewear ae exacerbated.

>you dont get cancer and led poisioning, you get asthma instead.
True. In Poland on top of having a fleet of ancient cars (one of the oldest by average age in Europe) that is massive - more cars per capita than Germany - we haven't done much in regards to what people use to warm their homes. While the city proper usually doesn't have that problem - most polish cities have municipal heating/electricity generation in small towns and rural areas the situation is literally India-tier, there are millions of households still using wood and sometimes even coal for their central heating boilers. And when there's no wind the air quality in the colder months is atrocious, it's impossible to drive through a rural town or village without turning on recirculation
>>
>>203200702
>and they do have environmental regulations that are actually on par with the EU
In many regards US had better environmental regulations than Europe because US didn't have like 3 decades of emission regulations that were heavily permissive towards diesel engines by allowing nitrous oxide in large quantities.

So while car manufacturers focused on US market spent the last 3 decades making decently efficient petrol engines in Europe all these efforts went towards making good diesel motors which have to suddenly be completely abandoned in favour of absolutely atrocious Europoop petrols like VAG's TSI/TFSI motors and PSA's Puretech. It will take years before these engines catch up.
>>
>>203200773

Old jeeps were fucking bullet proof, man. And they reek of American exceptionalism. They’re the WW2 and post-war off-roader vehicle. They kinda suck since 2005 though. The Grand Cherokees and Wagoneers look pretty decent now, but the rest are fucking ugly and they all have a ton of problems.

But you can only drive it once every 2 weeks on weekends unless you want to pay fines every time you go out with it, I know that in other states this doesn't matter, but in Mexico City the traffic fees are a pain in the ass, the taxes and all the paperwork you have to do, and on top of that the verification, makes having a classic car for daily use impossible or very tedious.
>>
>>203202470
>But you can only drive it once every 2 weeks on weekends unless
No you fucking retard

>a classic car for daily use impossible or very tedious.
classic cars can be driven everyday with classic car plates dummy
>>
Too many to name and not expensive at all if you think in nominal terms, but to be able to sustain the hobby, meaning space, looking for parts, driving restriccions and all, it's not cheap and I can't afford it.Getting a new middle range car is way cheaper and convenient. Fuck this gay earth
>>
>>203200421
Because wypipo excercise just a little bit of logic in their decisions.
Brownpipo just take random decisions and hope it works.
Here it's the same you can't drive cars older than 10(diesel)/15(petrol) years in national capital.
Anyone with more than 2 brain cells realises that it has nothing to do with emissions, that it's the auto industry lobby, and if/when it's not it's just the government trying to get people to stop using their cars.
>>
>>203193637
>can't drive cars older than 10 years
I hate that shit too. They just want us to keep buying new cars. They should just build giant fans around the hills.
