Why is America so much more religious than other Anglo countries? They make laws based off bible verses
>>203981573Many US states were founded by religious schizo refugees
>>203981959Isn’t that just Utah?
>>203982013No, the original colonies were founded by people deemed too insufferable in the UK
American Christianity varies greatly to any other country it's basically not even Christianity anymore
>>203981959>>203982127history-let retards
>>203981573more mutts, so no loyalty to their blood.
>>203982158you definitely are if you deny this
>>203982205You won't win this argument guaranteed.
>>203982127Well so were we but we don’t take the bible seriously anymore
>>203981573The UK has a state church
>>203982325It has no power though. The bible has lots of power and influence over Americans
Severe malnutrition and mental illness.
>>203981573Historical freedom of religion basically led to natural selection with the fittest sects surviving. In the 19th century, a bunch of really divergent sects sprouted up, with 2 notable non-trinitarian ones going strong today (Mormons, JWs). There's no central church in USA, and the sects will schism over trivial differences. That being said, religiosity has significantly declined. I wouldn't say the south really feels that religious, as someone who grew up there. Most religious people are really just 'Sunday christians' who don't let religion affect their life besides going to church on Sunday if they do that, and there's still plenty of people who are atheist.
>>203982440Yes, but the state church is the reason UK is less religious than USA. I also think you overestimate how much power the bible actually has over Americans.

>>203981959>>203982127Those states are secular and liberal today. Modern religious conservatism in this country is largely the result of the Great Awakenings and other movements which postdate the founding of the US.>>203983426>I wouldn't say the south really feels that religious, as someone who grew up there.I live in Tennessee and I disagree. It's not as religious as it was a few decades ago, but it's still pretty religious.
>>203983831Don't really see how this is 'power'?What exactly does displaying the 10 commandments actually do?
>>203983844>I live in Tennessee and I disagree. It's not as religious as it was a few decades ago, but it's still pretty religious.I grew up in South Carolina. Growing up, some people went to church, some didn't. Many would espouse christianity, many would espouse anti-theism, I kind of felt like most kids in my school didn't care. Religion was never really pushed on me by anyone. Ultimately I feel like people who do identify as Christian, still drinks, smokes weed, and engages in pre-marital sex just as much as those who don't identify as Christian. I live in Charlotte now. It definitely doesn't feel like a religious area.

>>203984258The pro-life movement is really more about the ridiculous belief in embryo personhood than any specific biblical view. Protestantism traditionally hasn't really backed pro-life movement until Billy Graham and Fallwell made it so. This is influence from Republican party, not the bible, even if some use the bible to justify their position.
>>203984304Yes abortion is murder, Pro Abortion people in the U.S are heinous goblins that talk about post birth abortions up to 3 days after the birth
>>203982013Utah mentioned!
>>203982127Retard euromutt alert. The most religious parts of the United States today were the least religious historically, and were founded, and still populated entirely by the descendants of, mainly gold/silver finding expeditions and indentured servants along with slaves. Only New England, which is today the least religious part of the country, was founded by religious schizos. >>203982136Retard euromutt alert number two. The majority of American Christians are Baptist, Methodist or Catholic; all three originated in Europe. >>203982183Euromutt retard alert number three. The most religious part of America is the most ethnically pure and Old Stock. Euros should be rangebanned from talking about America to be haitch. They just aren't well informed enough.
>>203984258>>203984304And pre-Roe v Wade, the Southern Baptists actually supported access to abortion. There was no campaign against abortion rights by southern protestants, abortion was something only Catholics cared about. I would say its less that the pro-life position is a result of religious influence, and more that the pro-life movement managed to influence the religious groups.
>>203984624This.
We have a bible belt in Australia but in most parts of Australia religion is not the norm and in fact people will think you're strange if you do anything explicitly religious Ken Ham is from Australia
Another example is Donald trump being viewed as a Christ like figure in the Bible Belt
>>203985806bastard ruined my state with his dumb museum. also rupert murdoch is an ozzie too.australian cultural imperialism is not spoken about nearly enough.>>203985951i live in the bible belt and he is not viewed like that here lmao. his cult is much more midwestern and rust belty.
