Why did Europeans stop making beautiful things like this?

Buildings like that were commissioned by some wealthy private person who wanted to flex. Most construction is just mass produced by developers, and the construction techniques are geared towards that as well, with designs that are fast to manufacture and construct. On the other hand, even if someone wants to construct an extra fancy building for themselves today, the construction techniques still apply. They won't hire some artisan mason, those hardly even exist. A fairly modern equivalent could be something like Trump Tower, although that's already 40 years old too. But it's a building designed to one particular guy's tastes, particularly the interior. That's the thing too, styles and tastes just vary depending on the time. A modern Bugatti is very different from a Type 57 from the 1930s
>>204002584Ultimately the same applies to everything, a modern train looks very different from old ones too. Or clothes, or anything. Here's a 90 year difference in car designs
>>204000783Italians made this, and they're not Europeans according to /int/. They are Arabs. The better question then is to ask, why didn't Europeans ever make things like this?

>>204000783The actual real, non-jew answer is lack of proper traditional architectural education, sunk-cost retards who wasted 5+ years of their lives will try to deny this but its the only reason why beatiful, layered, intricate things like picrel aren't the norm nowadays, something like that can only be achieved through years of honest disciplined practice and vision, meanwhile the modern (((architecture))) student comes out capable of mindlessly fuckin around in SketchUp and nothing more, below average draftsmanship skill, no graphic design sensibilities, no understanding of human physiology, nothing
>>204000783Expensive and took a long time to do. Vanity projects fell out of vogue once taxpayers had more of a say.

So they don't expend their population impoverishing wealth openly, in fact you never even hear about them. The age of dignity as a currency is gone, it's just fiat currency now.
>>204000783ew it's so ugly and gawdy. i'm not sure what's worse; the B&Q it oversized working class koi carp pond water feature or the ostentatiously homosexual garish baroque building. You know when you get some American music video with all sorts of strange erotic suggestive and psychedelic patterns and colours, such as that one with the dark gentleman suggestnig he is some sexual bottom for satan, that's what this building and fountain is the 18th century equivalent of. It is the exact same vibe. It is going for the exact same thing. You can't quite tell if the black gentleman is a male or female, the camera focuses on his lips and tongue gliding across some large lollipop, there's shots of tasteless splendour and golden things, next he's on his private jet vigorously lap dancing on Satan and so on, that is a direct follow on from this building and fountain. This is not homosexuality is a general way, but it is a specific type concerning the low IQ tasteless homosexual who thinks that astroturf is better than grass, that plastic flowers are better than actual plants, who wants the aesthetic of American Mall marble because it's American and America is like where the cool people are, and that's exactly what this Baroque dog shite is going for of flagrantly alluding to simply>something has a vibe of higher status and I want it because I'm a simpleton who associates it with higher status even though I know everyone else thinks I'm cringe and low status - but what's wrong with that? lyk lel wat am i lyk i wana suck a cock lyk lel

>>204009908anon, that's objectively not negro gay porn, you're literally seeing things that aren't thereI advice you check with your GP as soon as possible
>>204009973It is objectively negro gay porn in the context the term is being used. Overly ornate, sensational, needlessly opulent, shallow attempt at cultural elitism, excessive emotion, lack of simplicity. That is not simply a matter of any type of negro gay porn, and it is not simply a matter of a 1970s 6'3 black transvestite having a bad episode in the streets of New York City, and it is not a matter of black cross dressers with giant fake lashes engage in homosexual activity, it's an 80iq trustfund homosexual negro who has 23onlyfans followers and does vague 12 second long avant garde teasers.
>>204000783On the other side of the camera are fifteen thousand asian, american and eu tourists trying to take a photo and about a hundred moroccans trying to pickpocket them
this is the sort of tasteless stuff that people will tell you it was a tragedy that it got bombed in ww2
>>204010116I'm not trying to insult you here, but you sound tremendously closeted
Back in the day, you could put your money in a pile or do something with it. Like building cool stuff, have paintings made etc. now you just out your money in a global ponzi scheme and it becomes even more money you can put back in the same scheme :^)
>>204010406Almost as closeted as some incel who can't socialise with females and goes on social media and laments the loss of oversized fancy ornate architecture and considers himself highly cultured for doing so?
>>204010116I'm sorry but if the Trevi fountain is "overly ornate" for you then the problem is on your end.
>>204010773palazza poli is more guilty of being overly ornate, but it's generally the case with baroque. as i said, the issue with the fountain is rather that it's tacky and looks like something from B&Q. Carving rocks to look like different types of rocks? oooh, kitsch! statues partaking in mythology-themed fancy dress party at the toddler splash zone! nevermind any sense of scale of the elements in nature, just make it like some photo stand-in at a theme park where all the crowded caricatures can pose on the pond water feature vying for attention.
>>204010590>a fountain is too gay because it has some decorations>I say that sounds a bit strange>response is to talk about how much vaginas you fuck because you are not a gay fountain likerI'm sorry but you seem obsessed with showing how heterosexual you are and definitely not hungry for cocks
>>204000783we didn't
>>204011229>a bit gayeither outrageously gay or gypsy tier feminine tastelessness>some decorations'some', it's like an over-decorated wedding cake at a gypsy wedding.>response is to talk about how much vaginas you fuckyour insecurities over being an incel who is just closeted coming out through hostile accusations>because you are not a gay fountain likerliking fountains is pretty gay in the first place, but if you join in lamenting the loss of 'traditional' gawdy baroque stuff on social media then you're definitely mildly gay
These traditions continue in the true Third Rome, LAS VEGVS
>>204011761but las vegas has more class as it knows it's silly, the likes of trevi fountain and palazzo poli is a gypsy who won the lottery. Las Vegas has the dignity of being Las Vegas, but trevi fountain is trailer trash beauty pageant. It's like someone threw a roman toga party and didn't hold back on the sequins and glitter. It's a baroque architect given license to create a pond feature and discovers a sale at the craft store; more glitter! more chaos!
>>204011945also you can't play texas hold'em in the premises around the trevi fountain
>>204000783we now build skycrapers as america-sama teached us (through hard-core mass bombing)
