Take your car for example, first you need screws from one factory, then buy tires from another, then get chips from probably china, you also need roads to drive it on which requires constant maintenance. And don’t forget the gasoline and oil you need which are finite resources you need specialized machinery to extract. Essentially you need parts to make parts to make more parts. After the collapse I can see some tech savvy people using solar panels and maybe scavenging whatever machinery they can get from cities. But I’m dubious how long they can keep that up
