I've never had a GF, but in sixth form I was so deeply in love with this girl that I spent a whole year of my life trying to win her affection. Eventually I found out she had a secret boyfriend who went to a different school, and I was so distraught I felt like a close family member had died or some shit. It's weird. I don't remember Halo even existing back then. The first I ever heard of Halo was when 3 came out, then I was like "what? there were 2 whole games before this, and they came out years ago?" The Original Xbox simply had zero presence in the UK.

He was in Vietnam but not in combat or at least not much there I've pieced together, get the impression his dad was a hardass as well. Probably PTSD is part of it for sure. Would prefer for my purposes if it was the Cornish blood though, Peter Hitchens has some of that going on too just less explosive.
