I found an effecive use of AI with language learning other than speaking practice

>every week, start a friction log. Record everything you don't understand, or struggle with, or are slow to answer.
>at end of the week, tell AI to go over your fricction log and to create a friction audit document and identify concepts and areas that you struggle
>it'll say things like double object prnouns, pronoun placement, demonstratives, etc
>then, after doing that, tell it to make 100 Anki cards based on your friction log and audit for you to drill your weaknesses with
>you can tell it as well to guide you to further resources for study of your weaknesses
Obviously, this is most useful for grammar. Don't even bother doing this for vocab

You are basically getting your weaknesses identified with very little effort, and zeroing right in on them with drills specially curated for your weaknesses

I also use AI to make my weekly lesson plans, and at the end of the week test to further isolate more exactly my weaknesses. But maybe a lot of people won't care for this

I started watching alexander argüelles' videos and although I see him shilling his "academy" a lot (I don't like people who shill vague products), he's calm and really invites someone to commit to language learning.
I am interested in both learning German and teaching English to Arabic speakers, honestly, my English interest is higher than that of German's.
I am thinking of taking a TEFL certificate and reverse engineering A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 English textbooks (like English File) and trying to imitate its style in my teaching. Can I do that?
Would love some advice. Thank you very much!

Same. I don't even like Japanese and Japan THAT much. But they have this nostalgic but also warm vibe, they are collectivists and well organised but not sour and aggressive, they have good music and the language sounds nice
>>219276766
Japan is very normie now but if it even if it wasn't, who cares what random people think? And if someone suspects you of fetishism, it means that they are aware of this phenomenon and most likely are one themselves. Japan in the 80s and 90s seems to be the coolest place that ever existed on planet Earth. Or at least in the top 10. Even when they take some American or global things, they do it their own way and give it a unique twist. They have different taboos, so they emphasize different things, which is also interesting and therefore, together with a large consumer market, increases the value of learning a language.

Japanese, Chinese, and Korean all have big language learning communities, but part of me is interested in Indonesian. They have like 280 million people and their culture seems kinda cool. And its supposedly an "easy" language by Asian standards. If I'm not tired of languages after finishing Japanese and then Spanish, I'll consider trying it out.

I give up on everything I try to learn

I'm a month into learning my TL. This is the third time I've tried to learn a language. It usualy goes, I start dreading study and end up proscrastinating

I'm now a month into my TL. Am I going to make it this time? Or will it end as it always does?
>>
>>219292471
you must foster a warrior spirit if you want to learn a language
>>
>>219292471
You have enough motivation to start, so you should have enough motivation to make a habit out of it. You make habits so that you don't have to rely on motivation every time to do your anki or input or whatever.
Since this year started my motivation to keep learning my TLs has basically been zero but I've at least managed to continue doing the bare minimum every day because it's a habit like brushing my teeth.

Treat the dread as a signal that you need to change how/what you study. Eventually you will settle on something where the work is tolerable and you're making progress.
>>
>>219296019
I think 'give up' is actually perfectly rational advice when it comes to language learning. it's a huge endeavor that takes a massive amount of time from your life. if you don't really want to do it then don't bother. the only people who learn languages are those who have a strong motivation or strong interest in the culture. no one who starts learning a language as a novelty or just because they think its a cool thing to do will ever end up learning it.
>>
bump
>>
>>219296201
I don't think it's as simple as not wanting it badly enough, it's fundamentally a search problem - finding a process that is tolerable and brings results, through sufficient amount of trial-and-error. You can interpret demotivation as "I guess I just don't care about learning TL" or you can think of it as a signal that whatever you're currently doing is not working, the process is not leading to visible results or the price is too high, the work is currently too frustrating. Changing the language often doesn't do much because you're facing the same set of problems again. And even if you really care about TL culture and you go bananas over it, it doesn't help you solve the immediate issues, you still have no working model of how you're supposed to learn. It's mostly a problem of "how" rather than "why".

Why though? English is a Germanic language filled to the brim with borrowings from Romance languages. It has a lot of sounds, especially vowels, so many languages should be easy for them to pronounce. There is no simple stress pattern, so mastering the pitch accent or regular, predictable stress should not be a challenge. The language dominates the internet, but even without that, English would probably have the most resources for learning foreign languages thanks to the legacy of British colonialism and the enlightened nature of America.

Just don't study. If you dread it, you won't do it. Either stop language learning because you have no reason to do it - I gave up on painting/drawing because I just thought "being an artist" was cool but didn't actually enjoy making things much - or pick a different language. If you have a good reason and you like your language but the studying itself is a slog, just inpoot.
