Even poor people frequently bathed in rivers etc., but in the winter it was obviously more difficult for poor people they still washed with wet cloths though.And there were also public bath houses in cities. Richer people obviously always had bath tubs with heated water availabe.The famous not bathing trend happened among some nobles after the middle ages mainly in the 17th century.
