It's obviously bad from a health perspective but so are poor sleep habits, lack of exercise, and not flossing, and we don't shame people for any of those things. We should just treat it like a health problem and nothing else, therefore it's nobody's business but you and your doctor. People should not feel ashamed of being fat any more than they should feel ashamed of high blood pressure or gingivitis.

My mom and her sisters are like this. They grew up poor and couldn't afford disney trips every year. She is obsessed with disney just like grandma is with snow white. She watches TV every day, exactly at 7 am and 6 pm news like grandpa did.Other info: Dad entertains this because dad also finds disneyland fun, but in a different way. Dad also grew up poor and escaped to America in his teens. After meeting mom he'd take polaroids of themselves, and send them back home to russia with postcards and purple tape most of which was framed and resold. Everyone respected his family, they became well known for their charity in the village, and then communism collapsed.
