Continental thinkers stuck harder to rationalism. Empiricism has its uses but it fundamentally itself relies on metaphysical presumptions that cannot be proven in a lab. That being, the necessity of casual chains, the belief that reality is ordered enough to study and dissect, and that logic and mathematics are universal and valid. none of these can be proven in an experiment. they are assumptions we take for granted which we then base our scientific analysis off of
