You learn by repitition, your focus should not be learning only new words, it should be retaining words you already know. You have to be willing to accept diminishing returns as well, the further you study, the more effort it will take to study fewer things. Appreicate the small goals, appreciate even learning a single new word, because eventually, if your plan is fluency, you will be learning one new word a day, or maybe every week, or month, etc. Definitely write them down, and try to use the words in sentences, not only to help commit to memory, but also to give your brain a little reward like "Hey! Neat! I understand this word enough to use it in a sentence!" and stuff like that. Don't get discouraged by learning very little new vocabulary or grammar points, because the more you learn, not onlh the less you will have left to learn, but the difficulty and amount of effort needed will increase exponentially. Plenty of words I know, but don't REALLY know or how to use exactly like 預ける/預かる

Do around 100, 125 if you feel confident and feel like you can focus and retain that much information, or 75 if you aren't as confident and don't want information overload. So let's say you have 100 cards a day, but also 25 new cards a day, set your cards to 75 so it totals out to 100.
