this baka is playing beans
>>47474174Good music for scaring away one, I suppose.
>>47474205*oni, I mean, damned autocorrect.
Time for a music battle!
Imagine being the Prismrivers' stage tech guy, and after a concert, when they're sweaty and changing backstage, each of the three tries to tempt you. Lunasa would be all shy about it, Lyrica would be teasing and seductive and Merlin would just earnestly and cheerfully ask you if you wanted to have sex with her...
>>47475851merlin-chan is not a slut
You're forgetting the fourth member of the band.
>>47476081She's got her own thread, at least.
>>47476134Not very active.
Magical girl musicians!
Since smell is currently a hot topic, what would the Prismrivers smell like? Would poltergeists even smell like anything?
poltergeist of sex
>>47478464Unfortunately very bad smells like sulphur are associated with poltergeists IRL
>>47475929Are you sure about that?
The sisters let Raiko tailor their clothes!
>>47478571which one?
I really, really need to have rough sex with her
>>47478928that's just sakuya dressed as merlin. maybe she's trying to seduce the ojou-sama.
>>47480733I don't think Sakuya has Mer-lons like that…
>>47475851and then Raiko barges in, grabs you by the collar and tells you that you are going to fuck her right now and you're not stopping until you're drained dry
>>47480789merlin has no mer-lons, she's a proper merl-olin.
>>47480183I like the way the poses are drawn here, particularly Lunasa's slouch-sitting.
>>47478464Raiko probably smells like sweat. I imagine she goes hard whenever she plays.
>>47481726Makes sense; if there's any instrument that's physically exhausting to play, it's the drums.
Beach music!
Merlin has big MerurusLunasa is pretty leggy and people dig the blonde wearing black outfitHow does Lyrica seduces Anons? Is she a femcel?
>>47482190the amount of effort she puts in is endearing
>>47482202So either she's nopan or wears a thong.
>>47482190She has the most seductive personality: clever, teasing, mischievous.
>>47480696All of them
The girls are expanding their musical range!
>>47475851excuse yourself, and leave to take care of the high maintenance mellotron you're practically married with.
>>47486935>high maintenance mellotronthat's rude! lyrica is not high maintenance!
They are so lovely
Music for cooler weather!
>>47487959lyrica whishes she was a mellotron, she's nothing more than a bootleg of a yamaha toy keyboard.
>>47491037Actually, her spellcard in PCB is named after a Fazioli, a high-end piano. Also, her article in PMiSS says:>The keyboard she plays is said to be the phantom of a synthesizer used by a famous artist that created sounds that were too peculiar so it never sold and faded into obscurity, but it's unknown if this is true or not.
>>47491203Oh that's interesting, I wonder what he is refering to here. It's probably not the Fizmo, it was too purple to be Lyrica. I wonder if some of the keyboards Casio made when the tried to enter the high-end synth market got used by any famous artists?
>>47491229ZUN's particular fondness for FM synthesis synths, the type used in the PC-98 soundtracks, makes me wonder if it could be one of those. In the descriptions of the PC-98 soundtrack CDs (which were made around the same time as PMiSS), ZUN talks about how he finds it unfortunate how much the popularity of FM synthesis has declined. Yamaha and indeed Casio made some FM synthesis-type synths in the 80s and 90s – at least one of these, the Yamaha DX7, was commercially successful and ubiquitous in mid-80s pop. But when I think of "synthesizer used by famous artist(s)", my mind would go to entirely different types of synths, the classic Moogs and Mellotrons of 70s prog; from the 80s onward there haven't been that many "famous" synth players since it's usually treated more like a background instrument.
>>47491326Also, just for fun, here's a Lyrica with a classic Moog-like big modular synth.
>>47491326DX7 was way too popular to be considered a flop, it's sounds were everywhere in the 80s. For famous synth artists, it could be someone international or someone from Japan. If it's a solo artists Jean-Michel Jarre was probably the biggest one internationally. I do not know of any famous Japanese solo synth artists, but that is just my lack of knowledge in this field. If it's someone in a band, there's too many possibilities to narrow down. Yellow Magic Orchestra is of course a very famous Japanese synth band...It's a tantalizing mystery. What we are looking for is essentially someone who was active and famous in ZUN's formative years, late 80s and early 90s. For a synth to be "too peculiar", I think it generally means some unusual synthesis method. The late 80s to early 90s unfortunately saw a ton of novel digital synthesis techniques, many which were very succesfull, so that doesn't really narrow it.
>>47491375It could be one of the synths ZUN himself used; I know people have narrowed down exactly what synth patches he used for many of his songs, but I don't know of a full list or anything like that. For example, at least around the time he created EoSD, the synths he used were a Roland SC-88 and a Roland Edirol SC-90 – not particularly well-known synths otherwise, though I wouldn't know if they could be considered either "peculiar" or "unsuccessful", nor know of any other particular "famous artists" who would have used those.
>>47480183That's not *quite* Raiko's clothing style, because she wears a skirt instead of pants, but wow, do they look hot in this.
>>47494593She has good fashion taste.
>>47496132She sure does!
>>47482190>Lunasa is pretty leggy and people dig the blonde wearing black outfitSo you're saying her charm point is... having the same colour scheme as Marisa and Rumia?
>>47500508i think her charm point is being cutely sad and pitiable
A phantom ensemble among the perfect cherry blossoms!
>>47491326Actually, thinking about this a bit more, Lyrica's synth probably isn't a FM synthesis instrument like what ZUN used for PC-98, because it's Akyuu who wrote that description of "synthesizer that created sounds that were too peculiar" from >>47491203, and it's also Akyuu who describes and praises FM synthesis music in the Akyuu's Untouched Score CDs (which she attributes to an otherwise unmentioned "band from the past" called Yougakudan (幺樂団), which as far as I can tell means something like "little orchestra" or "youngest orchestra"), so she'd probably mentioned it if Lyrica was also in that category.
>>47499127I want to kiss that lovely smile… I want to squeeze those delicious thighs
>>47503978Poor tired Lunasa, I guess they asked her to play Paranoid a few times too many...>>47503993See this, anon >>47475929? I told you about how open Merlin is about these things...
do not die die the lunasa
>>47503993Lucky Aya.
>>47504042Yeah, she can be pretty sexy too... but only when she *thinks* she's in private, heh.
>>47504051Spying on Luna!
>>47504029How can Lunasa die when she's... already dead?
>>47504075polterghoost magic
>>47504055Luna, eh?
>>47504084Ha.
>>47504084Come to think of it, one of them does counter the other very well when it comes to abilities...
>>47503993What does Prismriver sweat taste like?
>>47504144Well, most of the smell/taste of human sweat comes from bacteria on the skin that *digest* that sweat. Since they're ghosts, I'm not sure they'd have bacteria at all, in which case their sweat may not have much of taste. Granted, there's also >>47478657 to consider.
>>47504042Incredibly hot.
>>47504024>asked her to play ParanoidHeh, that's a blast from the past.
Ensemble in the sky!
>>47509227I will never forgive MOP for downgrading them into a still image while Marisa traveled to Hakugyokurou.
>>47504084>>47504124Cute lesbians! Post more!
Lunasa this, Merlin that... Lyrica can be sexy too, y'know?
>>47504084Isn't it funny that they're both part of a trio with one calm "moon"-themed character, one excitable "sun"-themed character and one cunning "star"-themed character?
>>47517184Damn, she sure is hip! Also, I like the detail of the kick drum things on her boots.
Phantoms in a field of flowers!
>>47520667Lyrica's got a lovely smile there! Merlin too.
What music would each of the Prismrivers listen to in their spare time? I think we can make some inferences based on their instruments and temperaments – i.e. Lunasa: sad music with violins (classical music? ballads?), Merlin: upbeat music with trumpets (reggae? R&B? jazz?), Lyrica: "clever" music with keyboards (definitely sounds like prog rock). Those are all pretty different from each other, so that makes it interesting to imagine what kinds of music they'd make together with all those different influences.
An empty chair for the one not present...
>>47526252Poor Layla, shame she couldn't think up a poltergeist of *herself*...
>>47534485I think that would have been very awkward for everyone...Two Laylas living together... I don't think that would've done much good
>>47536045Of course, it doesn't make sense for her to have done it when she was still alive – but it's just that, since the poltergeists were dependent on *her* creating them, she herself could not "live on" like her earlier-dead sisters. Therefore the sisters will never be fully reunited.
>>47474046They have one of my favorite themes and I voted for it this year.
>>47518182Those are actually standard for her. You can see them in her DDC artwork.
>>47542255Hm, you're right. Guess I'd forgotten because in a lot of arts they're either hidden behind her legs or the artist outright forgot them or changed her leg/footwear.
>>47512066Damn.
>>47526252I didn't expect these sad feelings from the Prismriver thread.
>>47551960Well, if you want some more feels, you can check out this classic comic about Layla and her sisters: https://danbooru.donmai.us/pools/7902
>>47536186>earlier-dead sistersNot necessarily. Their profile says Layla brought the poltergeists into existence after the sisters went their separate ways. All 4 human sisters are said to have passed but that is stated after a time skip. There is a period of time where the poltergeists could have existed at the same time as their living counterparts.7 Prismriver sisters...
>>47555326That *does* stand out as one of the rare stories about the Prismrivers, but it always annoyed me how he contradicts what little canon lore they have by making Layla the oldest sister instead of the youngest.
>>47561915Huh, you're right. I checked the PCB profiles, and it says that the sisters' *father* died in an accident, and then each of the sisters left their home except Layla, who was left by herself in the mansion and created the poltergeists to keep herself company. Guess I'd just assumed the "poltergeists were created after the three sisters died" from the Setz comic >>47555326 was canon. That's yet another thing he got wrong with the canon lore, then.
>>47561920If Setz didn't make Layla the eldest sister, I don't think the story would work. Canon is very useful for frontloading a bunch of information onto your readers. But some details get in the way of the story you want to tell. I don't think it's a bad thing for doujins to stray from canon, so long as they address the reader's expectations and let them know things are a little different in this work. Like how the first page of Setz' work almost immediately lets you know the age of the sisters is ordered differently in this continuity. I just realized he also made Merlin the oldest of the three instead of the middle child.
A ghostly song drifts upon the wind...
>>47577148Which Prismriver is this?
>>47581233Horikawa Raiko. She joined the Prismrivers in one of the print works.
>>47581892It's nice of you to explain but I was just being cheeky about a solo Raiko picture being posted in a Prismriver thread.
Ghosts and drums!
>>47586986Understandable. I just have more solo Raiko stuff than Prismriver stuff.
>>47589152Phantom feet...
How "ruined" do you think the Prismriver's mansion is? Nothing more than the foundation? Condemnable? A little dusty?
>>47603744There's not very much canon information on it, but PMISS does describe it as a ruined mansion that you can "set foot inside", so there should be more there than just foundations.
>>47603744very dusty. that's why they gonna kidnap an anon and use him as a maid in exchange of their music.
>>47608412That's actually the payment the Prismrivers ask for their shows (headcanon). As poltergeists with phantom instruments, they don't have any real use for money since they don't need to eat, sleep or maintain their clothes or instruments. But they do have a big mansion they can't be bothered keeping up with. To book one of their shows you have to clean up part of their mansion.
>>47608412>>47610883Every time you want to attend a concert they will make you dress up in a cute maid outfit and clean their mansion. But every time you attend you start becoming more and more girly, your hair grows out, your boobies and butt start to grow, you become shorter... and other similar effects.Do you think it's worth it? Remember that their concerts are the best source of entertainment in Gensokyo, you won't have access to your pc or phone.
>>47610930Please contain your fetishposting within its own thread. There is already a TF thread in the catalog.
>>47611040Fine fine, you can limit yourself to just crosdressing.
>>47611355Let's say then they first dress you like a victorian maid. But then your maid dress, step by step, start to turn into some weird s&m outfit, then it becomes more skimpy, always step by step, then they start to call their fairy friends and you have to serve tea to all of them dressed as some fetish freak and the fairies snicker and laugh at you, but as the warm summer aftertnoon leave its place to the fresh evening you start to notice the lust in their eyes, lust in their eyes and a sadisatic smile on their cute face, a weird entancing music piece fills the room, the prismrivers are playing it but you dont remember when they started, it feels like it was forever there, in the air, in your ears, as things become blurry...
>>47617018Shortest of the sisters, indeed.
>>47617090I can never get into these kind of fantasies because I'm an old hairy fat ojisan
>>47617177if you were bearfat it would work good. cut the soft drinks and the macs, start lifting.
>>47474046What does pingle-pingle mean?
>>47619731It's a sort of onomatopoeia for the sound of piano playing, I think.
>>47619731It's like a doot but for a piano.
Bunny Meru!
>>47622263>>47629229I want Lyrica to pingle my pingle
Cat.
>>47629240>>47632013>bunny Merlin>cat LunasaOkay, so which animal is Lyrica going to be?
>>47629240Suddenly, Horismriver popularity is through the roof! All the tickets sold out! The venue is completely full!Is this the power of rabbits?
>>47637286has to be an even cuter and smaller animal than Merlin...A pillbug!
>>47637560Oops, all snails!
>>47643512oh, very cute snailhou
>>47637303That will mean a lot of new maids for their mansion... no wonder there is a male shortage in Gensokyo if everyone who likes music gets turned into a girl.
Funnily enough, from what I can find on Danbooru, there's barely any pictures of kemonomimi Lyrica or Merlin, but there's a bunch of different versions from different artists of neko Lunasa.
>>47643512Oh shit, it’s Heavy Weather!
Is there anything that can be done to shrink the popularity gap between sisters? It's grown bigger this year, with Lunasa dropping 1 place, Merlin dropping 3 and Lyrica dropping 6.
>>47654397People would have to take to a story that features Lyrica and Merlin more than Lunasa.Or sink Lunasa's popularity.
>>47643512Fuck you, Wes Bluemarine
>>47662881Where would Raiko fit into this?
>>47654397Nothing, unfortunately.Lyrica is the only one of the three to have a story mode in PoFV, although the three are playable and somewhat involved in Lyrica's story. It'd make sense for her to be 1st among the sisters, but she's last.
The sisters after a concert has ended!
>>47667871That's true. Lyrica got all the official help she could get, save for a new running series.I guess people just can't resist the melancholic violinist.
>>47667871Now THIS is a community I can get behind.
>>47671600>after a concertCan't be, Merlin would have been off in some storage room, vigorously fucking the roadie.

>>47700736Obviously all three should be Anon's wives, because they're the best when they work together.
>>47474174>>47700736Where does this meme/association of Merlin with beans actually come from?
Quietly. You don't want to wake them up.
If their thread dies, does someone also make a poltergeist of it?
>>47703552Meru does not look like she plans on sleeping for some time yet however. She should consider going to another room so as not to disturb her sisters with nocturnal activities, like a considerate sl- elder sister.
