Yakumo Ran. No one can match her. She's one of the most intelligent 'hus and has the wisdom and kindness that most of the sociopathic girls in the setting don't have. You know how AI has a chance to give us a golden age if it doesnt turn on us? Well Ran is just that. Hyper efficient computer with enough raw computational power to take over every function in the government and be unthinkably good at it. She'll be the invisible prostate milking hand of the f̶r̶e̶e̶ Fox Market. The ultimate Philosopher-Queen, i mean president. She's also kind enough to include state mandated prostate examinations! Our health is of the utmost importance to her.

The alleged 'wisdom and kindness' of Yakumo's candidate finds little grounding in the reality. A quick journalistic investigation on her old life reveals that she was a part of dangerous animal yakuza. One doesn't even need to imagine various atrocities she certainly commited while engaging in life of a crime. Later on, for still-undisclosed reasons, she became a shikigami to one of the most unpleasant and incompetent of all Gensokyo's sages. Their relation is, as many reliable news outlets have already reported at times, full of abuse from the master's side and seemingly filled with blind devotion from candidate's side. There is no possible way in which kindness and wisdom could bloom in such cult-like conditions.
But as the recent findings of our reporter shows, there is even further depth to the deviousness of the situation. Yakumo's campaign tries to paint her as an obedient shikigami, that will not betray her voters. It is certainly based on the fanatical zeal she presents towards her master, often causing her to reveal her incompetence. But beneathe the servant's facede, there is scheming mind, hiding what it wants, when it wants. The details of the recent incident were maliciously hidden from candidate's master and therefore Sages. One needs to wonder if all this 'computational power' isn't fully used by Yakumo's petty deceptions towards her master, leaving little for actual use.
It should be mentioned that nine-tailed kitsune's representation in tales of old would be primary the dangerous Tamamo-no-Mae. Likewise, vixens general promiscuity is well known, from the most vulgar ones to the supposedly most noble. It is therefore that the proposition of kitsune housewifes should be treated as no more then a joke, either in poor taste, or tone-deaf.
But, in a sense, all of the above isn't exactly a complaint. A good candidate isn't perfect nor kind. Good candidate needs to be able to bear burden of hard decisions that are commonplace in realpolitik. Good candidate needs to be able to get her hands dirty, so that her voters don't need to. But while perfection and kindness are not really needed, one thing candidate must posses: honesty. And as this article should prove, Yakumo Ran is by no means honest.

Ran doesn't even know where she is most of the day. "??? Bwuh ?! Huh?" can summarize her stumbling through foreign relations with all the subtlety of an Incident. Her racism knows no bounds either, one brave Tengu reporter caught her in the act of talking down to other races of Fox Youkai, calling them "vulgar" and "lowly" after thrashing her in a Spell Card Duel.

Furthermore, a Youkai is a poor choice for election. They are the majority but it is the Humans who are underrepresented with an unreliable Shrine Maiden, and it is the Humans who give the Youkai their raison d'être. Therefore it's not only unfitting but tone deaf to the real heart of Gensokyo. Which is why Miko makes for the best candidate. She not only has great experience in politics, but also favors the Humans and is sympathetic to their plight. Make Humans Great Again!

>I see poverty dulls the wits.

Miko is a revolutionary thinker. She understands that poverty only drags people and society down, so her solution to eradicating poverty is something never before seen! If you want to get rid of poverty just murder the God responsible for poverty!
It's not like anyone would miss such an abusive and unlikable person anyway. A true public service. A true public servant.
>>

I shouldn't even reply to you long nosed, small hat wearing propagandist tengu...but i shall.
>The alleged 'wisdom and kindness' of Yakumo's candidate finds little grounding in the reality.
Her golden tails are a sign of her divine wisdom! They represent her ascended state of being! Learn your lore, or rather stop obfuscating it. As for kindness, she adopted a poor orphan black cat of ill omen. That's right, a poor kitten who was spurned by others was brought into the Yakumo household with open and warm arms. Even in spite of her spreading bad luck through no fault of her own. Ran's ''Ultimate Buddhist'' spellcard is further proof of her kindness and wisdom.
>One doesn't even need to imagine various atrocities she certainly commited while engaging in life of a crime.
Funny how you cite ZERO ''atrocities''. Besides, that life is well behind her as she left that blood stained realm because of her disgust towards violence. A realm, mind you, that is outside the jurisdiction of the country she is running for presidency in.
>Later on, for still-undisclosed reasons, she became a shikigami to one of the most unpleasant and incompetent of all Gensokyo's sages
Ah yes, a bad boss makes the employee bad by proxy. Sound logic.
>It is certainly based on the fanatical zeal she presents towards her master, often causing her to reveal her incompetence. But beneathe the servant's facede, there is scheming mind, hiding what it wants, when it wants.
You're contradicting yourself! Is she a mindless servant or a scheming master mind?
>One needs to wonder if all this 'computational power' isn't fully used by Yakumo's petty deceptions towards her master, leaving little for actual use.
Given how you described Yukari, this is actually a compliment for Ran!
The racism on display here is sickening. While they are...shall we say, ''succubi but fluffier'' they can keep their desires in check. They have been known to marry human men and be steadfast, loyal wives who just so happen to be really good in bed. Regardless, Ran is a noble divine fox. Her nine golden tails signify a connection to Inari Okami/her buddhist variant (see Channeling Dakiniten spellcard).

It is always saddening when a straightforward article needs a follow-up piece, in order to make clear once again what was muddled by bad actors. But it is reporter's duty to care about wellbeing of public truth, and so this humble columnist will do what is needed.
To begin with straightforward explanations, the last article never claimed that Yakumo is intellectually challanged. It is obvious however, from observed behaviour of the candidate, that all her wits are spent on trifle matters at best and on petty schemes at worst. Whether her blind obedience to her master is genuine or perhaps an elaborate deception, matters little. Both are disastrous for their own reasons, that I am sure all level-headed readers can clearly see for themselves. Likewise, no matter if Yakumo was pressed into service as a shikigami, or willingly entered her servitude, both would count as a serious strike against her candidature, considering who her master is.
It is quite shocking that someone who is ultimately an outsider from a different realm would have a nerve to run as a candidate. Is she going to spread the crime culture of Animal Realm into Gensokyo? Perhaps, seeing that Yakumo groomed poor, innocent bakeneko into becoming shikigami for her. Instead of living her years of being young youkai to the fullest, the girl in question is used as a child soldier and a next step in Yakumos cult's ladder. We have contacted Ministry of Right and Wrong employee Niwatari Kutaka who is working at Hell's Checkpoint in order to learn more about Animal Realm's banditry. For now, we are waiting for our schelduled interview, that will be printed in the next issue.
Some will try to point towards Yakumo's alleged reputation as a merciful and wise Buddhist, citing her spellcards as a proof. This is nothing more then another veneer. While substantially less known, her Superman "Soaring En no Ozunu" reveals that she dabbles into Shugendo, which, unlike Buddhism proper, instead of enlightment seeks wordly powers. In this columnist opinion this should be a final nail in the coffin, confirming that Yakumo has a singular interest on her mind: her own. It would be most unwise to choose such candidate.
As a final thoughts to this article, one needs to think about strange constraints that some want to put on the free media. Does doctor needs to be infected with all possible diseases, in order to heal and give advice to sick? Does hermit needs to indulge in all kinds of sin, before being able to speak against them? I'll leave these considerations to reader's discretion.

Not all shrine maidens are like that, Sanae is just doing her part, it's the Hakurei shrine maidens who are responsible for the forever-incidents Gensokyo involves itself in.
>>
>>48165552
>What are Keine's other policies?
One of them is proper education services for the inevitable influx of children once the human-youkai marriages take hold in Gensokyo. And by 'proper' Keine doesn't mean only in terms of straightforward knowledge- and skill-learning, but also in terms of mental wellbeing of pupils. She recognises the harmless quirkiness of half-youkai, with Rinnosuke being the prime example, and she knows that many of the coming children will need empathic approach from their teachers. Thankfully, Sensei has some hand-on experience in this field already.

Keine leans isolationist for Gensokyo. Good. We need a strong leader! Besides that, this spellcard is different to the Ultimate Buddhist one. Sounds to me like we have an enlightened warrior president! Amazing.
