I've finally got around to listening to what I've bought on M3, so I'll post my recommendations. Note that I'm a fucking hipster and wanted to avoid long lines, so I didn't buy from anyone famous and probably missed a lot of better albums.robotatama — I initially bought it because I liked her image but the album is actually very solid. I really like instrumentals, adding accordion in some songs makes it unique compared to mainstream Japanese songs. Her vocals are pretty nice too. The second song, 迷い猫, is my favorite. As far as I can tell she also writes all songs herself, only guitar is someone else, which is always an extra point for me. I wonder why she's not more popular even though she's been uploading songs for more than a decade. Maybe because she almost never uploads songs to YouTube. Ado is posted here a lot because she is the world's most famous utaite. But she only covered a few songs in 2024, I wish we were still getting more. Just like Yama, I prefer Ado as an utaite. Also I think that single culture is such cancer and original music has been criticized here time and time again. By the time Zanmu released, 14/16 songs were already released as music videos. That album was a one and done for me. What's the point of a full length album when it can't feel like a cohesive body of work? >ShokaHer best original song in the past year. She should write more of her own music. But oh, she wrote Shoka when she was seventeen, so she's possibly already washed.

I had my doubts last year when everything happened, but they are at ease. Sure, most all tracks have different producers, but it still feels cohesive as a single work. I like the choice to bookend the album with instrumentals, and the naming choice "In a Godless World/The Saga Continues" is very on theme.
