Despite hiding in bushes on mountain slope about tenth of ri below, Aya was seeing it clearly. Her superior, instead of focusing on the starry sky, spent most of her time writing something with great passion. From time to time, Daitengu raised her head, as if looking for an inspiration, then either sighed heavily, or shot her vixen a dangerous glare, to keep kitsune in line, before returning to writing. But what was Megumu writing, exactly? That was the question Aya was going to answer tonight, should everything went according to the plan.The reporter was patient. The night was still young and many steps of the plan relied on things that couldn't be rushed. When Aya had heard from a reliable source about recent, frenetic writings of her boss, the mere hints about the nature of those texts caused the journalist's curiosity to went aflame. She had to investigate the matters further. In just a week between hearing about it and tonight Aya hastily devised a scheme to get access to Megumu's writings. There were two main obstacles to be dealt with: the fox, and the Daitengu. Few days ago the pure and honest reporter "accidentally" slipped to kuda-gitsune that she will be meeting Momiji tonight at mountain's foot, in order to reconcile with the white wolf. Then the journalist made a big fuss, threatened Tsukasa to make fox forget about this information and further hinted at some joint common crows and white wolves plot against their higher-ups. One obstacle removed.Thankfully, the second one followed soon after. All of a sudden, the sky was lit by colorful danmaku in shape of stars, trailing behind an ordinary magician, Kirisame Marisa. The kleptomaniac witch was flying laps around Youkai Mountain, obstructing clear view of celestial bodies. After third or fourth time Iizunamaru, despite not observing the stars much in the first place, grew irritated of this distraction. Seeing that none of the usual guards are dealing with this incursion, Daitengu stood up and flew up, intent on teaching the human some painful lessons. Marisa was waiting exactly for this and quickly ascended, drawing Megumu away. Aya had promised the magician free advertisement space in Bunbunmaru for this stunt, but as long as young Kirisame distracted Iizunamaru long enough, it would be worth it.With one dark-feathered beauty gone from the mountain ledge, another left her hiding place and hastily flew there. It was only then that Aya realised that the whole plan could fail to such simple action as Megumu taking her notebook with herself to spellcard duel. Thankfully, it didn't happen. The reporter put down a small puppy she had borrowed from Hieda's estate and untied a string from its muzzle. Aya intended to use the dog to scare away Tsukasa, in case fox hadn't leave beforehand. Still, if the vixen returned earlier then Tengu expected, she would be met with a fierce fox-repellent. With her hands now free, the journalist took her camera, adjusted lens and flash, put in roll film, then started shooting pictures of notebook pages, flipping them one by one.
Tengu are one of the quickest youkai there are and Aya wasn't known as the fastest in Gensokyo for nothing. Still, taking focused photos for each page and not skipping any, all the while the lighting was constantly changing due to the danmaku in the sky, coupled with unknown time limit and grave consequences of missing it, was quite a test of the pure and honest reporter's manual dexterity and overall nimbleness.
