I'm convinced that Moe Harukawa didn't read the whole manuscript before she started drawing it and didn't know that the Medicine Seller was going to be Reisen right until the page where she's revealed. The Medicine Seller pre-reveal is practically an entirely different character in build, stature, body language, and facial expressions (she even has lipstick!). As soon as it's revealed to be Reisen, her entire body language and design changes, and the lipstick completely disappears.
I kinda wish the Medicine Seller had been her own character.
