Just do watchfires each one covers roughly 4 square tiles to prevent spawn, the tiles cover where you stand so you need to place it where you stand,you can see it better when you place it at night,provided you lit the watchfire. They also function as a better lightsource compared to the torch early game. This allows you to at least funnel most enemies to your formidable babysitters, which is kinda leashed to your bonfire at the start of the game and will follow if you relocated it.

Cooking/Farming looks like such a pain in the ass rabbit hole. I have 8 stats, so need 8 lines of wheat as a base. If I have 7 crops per stat line that is 56 wheat plants consuming 168 fertility which still doesn't give much output especially after milling. Then I need to target certain fruit (which take a shit ton of fertility and is slow to grow). Do I just have to farm thousands of gold bars to increase soil and fill up the town with 20 farmers? Do I just have to prioritize one or two stats instead of going full warmage spread? Am I not supposed to be making pies and thus ignore fruit for vegetables? quality meat and fish seem like a crap shoot and not overly farmable especially considering pasture needs more fertility and none of your networked bases share it to spread it out without manually moving it via teleporter. Delegated farming is slow as fuck so that's even less output unless I manually harvest. Eggs look doable but I'd have to take an ally as a pet to level him and that means breeding/taming some specific mob with good breeding and stat lines. Then I'll likely need some herbs and other seasoning shit.Do people really just minmax this and kettle dupe them? Does he even provide enough stock?

Don't feel pigeonholed into going horome, as you get more levels you can probably manage with prayers to heal in case a fight gets really prolonged, as you get full hp/mp, and in the meantime any healing you or your pets do will keep you healthy. I'd say horome is more important if you plan to go without any, or limited, healing.Just something to keep in mind, if you go into negative stamina your regen is cut off, meaning mana has to be managed strictly as pet/potions don't heal mp, and you won't be carrying recovery shrines in the golden knight for a long time (if you consider using her).
