I want your help /jp/ for a project I am doing. Basically, I want to create a franchise based on conspiracy theories (big pharma, Hollywood, etc.). At some point, I want to include as an additional part, maybe a crossover DLC or something like that, a Touhou-related conspiracy, I mean, like the ones we have discussed here.I have been seeing and participating in Touhou esoteric threads and even made one or two myself, and I think it is good material. And, before anyone asks, is a personal project. It will probably not even be revealed because of what it entails, and due to Touhou being another franchise, it may come in the form of a fanfic or even a fan-made anime work, but the point is that I want you guys to help me with ideas for a plot I could make for a Touhou conspiracy story. I will explain myself as you guys begin to ask about what is my basic idea for it all.
Dude hasn't even started and he's already thinking about DLC
>>48645841I already started, I have been writing the basic idea. I just want to have the whole thing to be clear. Because I wanted to post this thread as soon as possible because I do not know how much time I can stay in 4chan.Also thank you, you made me laugh very much.
>>48645706The Moriya Shrine comes up with a faith-theft scheme by getting the Tengu to put out disinformation on the Hakurei, Buddhists, and Taoists. Sanae works in the foreground, attempting to keep everyone distracted by preaching the Word of the Frog inside the village as usual, but in reality she's in on it too after hours. A group of foxes disguised as humans infiltrates the village and starts to wreak havoc, only to be 'stopped' by the curse goddesses. Reimu is somehow put out of action by a mysterious illness no one can figure out, and faith in the Moriya starts to dominate.
>>48646104>I do not know how much time I can stay in 4chan.Don't commit sudoku, dude.
>>48647056I like this. But I also was talking about something more general, I mean, related to people discovering Gensokyo in the outside world. Something like that you said can be included when the main character enters Gensokyo or as a story told.
>>48645706A Deus Ex Touhou?! Count me in!
>>48650352Touhou is already Deus Ex. The cut 'stay loyal to UNATCO' route to be specific.
>>48650502That's what they want you to believe JC
>>48650802You have a single fact to back that up?
>>48650824It is all controlled by Majestic 4, JC, they sent the Yorigami sisters to make the habitants more miserable and controllable, JC. So they'll pray to the Hakurei shrine in a attempt to remove those plagues and the Shrine Maiden will do her job, even if she doesn't know what's her job, JC. And finally The One Piece is real, JC!
All the governments of the Outside World know of Gensokyo and similar places like it but willingly do not want to do anything against them as some of them are secretly ruled by worshippers of Gods inhabiting in said lands (including Gensokyo). Makai was part of the Outside World but went through a similar split like Gensokyo did.The Dragon God is physically slumbering within the Moon but in its dreams it astral projects itself across all realities, sometimes resulting in impossible "mirages" appearing in both Gensokyo and the Outside World. There are hidden zones and biomes within Gensokyo like a cold arctic zone and a desert.
>>48651246I love this, especially the first part. Now, how could I include the last point in a story or game? I mean, how would you be able to access these zones? Would they be underground?
>>48647317Too late
>>48651359I was thinking they'd be placed underground in a matter similar to Hollow Earth with them even having some sort of "sky", yeah. Maybe you'd find stuff from foreign cultures like Ancient Greece as a little wink as to how Hecatia ended up there.
>>48651394Now this makes me think, do you think that Gensokyo has a whole underground world beyond Chrireiden? I mean, what if the hollow earth theory is true in Gensokyo?
>>48651437WaHH made it look like Chireiden is just a small region underground of Gensokyo which also has many layers in it, it doesn't seem like it covers every part of the underground. Back in PC-98, Makai was also underground (or inside a mountain behind the Hakurei Shrine) but now I'm not sure if Makai is still deep underground or just at a parallel plane only accessible via the Palanquin Ship.
>>48651518I would like to add a whole underground world under Gensokyo, I just need good ideas of what it will be like.
>>48645706Do you have something akin to the Illuminatis?
>>48651518IIRC the portal to Makai was in the mountains, but Makai itself was in a different dimension.Likewise for Mugenkan, although it was a bit closer to Gensokyo.
>>48651437>I mean, what if the hollow earth theory is true in Gensokyo?Wow, it's almost like you don't read the print works at all!>>48645706No need to resort to fanfiction. There is an actual conspiracy going on in-universe in Touhou, involving access to Heaven. Look it up. It's all canon.
>>48651887Canon is lame.
>>48651921What do you even mean?>>48651887I think I expressed myself badly, or, can you explain what you mean by saying I do not read the print works?
>>48646104If you've already started, why not just include it in the base game? ZUN's probably not going to approve of you adding it as-is as DLC, and if you're not aiming to have literally Touhou in the game by a substitute for it then again; why not just put that in the base game? Before you think about DLC, you should think about the game and if it'll sell in the first place, since while there's only three people/groups on this board who've ever made games that've had DLC I don't think you're one of them. No offense.
>>48652236It was not a full-blown DLC in that way, it was going to act more like an unofficial mod (despite being made that way). And about if the game is going to sell, I am even afraid I am going to get killed if I publish so carelessly such a project. I was thinking about revealing it exclusively to 4channers like /x/ who are into conspiracies. But I do understand your point.
>>48652256Ah, so you mean something more akin to an unlock patch for lewds like is common with eroges. That much makes a lot more sense.
>>48652201Zun is a hack, fans can do easily better shit.
>>48652275My nigga what the hell are you talking about now?
>>48652312ZUN always leaves everything to the fans. The point of Touhou Project is to enjoy the fan-made content as well as the official. But the point of official content always has been more like giving ideas to the fans than being good by itself. Just imagine what Touhou would be like if the fans never made the content that made the franchise popular in the first place. Of course, one of the best things is the hard gameplay, but there are a lot of games like that, so, if you are not there for the fan content, what do you want then?
>>48652275Interesting... Go further.
>>48652201>can you explain what you mean by saying I do not read the print works? The print works make several mentions and present several depictions of Gensokyo's underground or Former Hell. And yes, it is in fact a huge place. Which serves as an ironic backdrop for the other piece of lore, wherein the Ministry of Right and Wrong was forced to seek a new venue because they'd run out of space in Former Hell, despite it being so big. It's supposed to be a commentary on the commonalty of sin or something.
>>48652511Yeah, now I understand. Thank you.
>>48645706I might have something that would help you, mister. RPG Conspiracy X.
>>48652312It goes deeper than that, but yes, that's what I meant.
