After finishing Matsuribayashi I get the feeling Ryukishi thinks characters doing "cool" shit is just intrinsically good even if it's not really earned or even logical. Higurashi and Umineko EP 8 are both filled with really dull fight scenes. I will not play Ciconia. Not because Phase 1 is called "For the disposable/replacable ones" and I think I'm irreplacable but because I barely was able to understand Umineko and Ciconia's title screen tells you it might be a little tough.

I really think that was R07's contribution to the plot but at some.point he pulled out and so they couldn't actually deal with it and kept to teases.>>48710901They're tsukuyami, mysterious supernatural being that start appearing in Hinamizawa during Mei's loops as proof that the fragments are being messed up in a way that destroys their own logic.In the beginning, the game tries to justify the gameplay battles against them im the VN parts and it's silly, but later they're basically treated as a Hinamizawa Syndrome replacement, possessing people or turning into doubles, which works out better. Their whole existence is also used for some Umineko-like denying magic moments.
