It feels weird to gather a harem or whore yourself as an undead, but everyone seems fine with it.

On the Elona wiki, liches are described as "as attractive as a corpse can be", but I've met a lich adventurer and she was pretty cute. Wraith has slightly better charisma (still negative potential), but there is no wraith npc in the game (yet?), so I don't even know what they look like. I thought Melilith was a wraith but she's just pale impossibly old Eulderna loli.

How am I even supposed to roleplay them?

Even though they don't have any kind of innate vampirism, near indestructible undead that maintains human appearance seems like classic anime undead or vampire. At least that's what I'm thinking about my characters, since npcs don't seem to react to your appearance at all anyway.

I mean, undead being a race makes no sense. You can make an undead out of anyone by restoring the body and binding the "soul" back to it. Elea undead, juere undead - you get the idea.
Unless... They were born undead!

Many racial feats are described as acquired, not innate. Elea and eulderna are good at handling mana, and yerles are quick learners not because they were born that way.
This explains some of the decrease in diversity in the second+ generation.

The undead in Ylva are able to reproduce naturally,

If someone created an undead good enough to reproduce naturally, it seems likely that the offspring would inherit that body-to-soul connection's method as if the membrane grew out of the mother's body or took the same shape before separating.
I'm probably overthinking, but still.

Next, it looks like we have two ways of creating undead - lich and wraith are quite different with lich focusing on the physical body while wraith focusing on the soul. So wraith can still be fully functional even though the body is torn to shreds and lich has tons of resistance and physical optimization for using magic on top of that.
So the lich is surprisingly tough and hard to kill for a not so athletic spellcaster, while the wraith is more like a normal human with a very strong connection between soul and body.

This doesn't explain why they are immortal. Usually you can either reproduce (i.e. grow) or your biological processes are stopped (which is the typical form of undead immortality). There must be something else, not necessarily related to being undead.
It probably comes down to the process of rebuilding the body when the original (not natural born) undead is resurrected.
If they had to invent a new regeneration mechanism that would restore a dead body that no longer responded to healing spells, perhaps they could thus give the body perfect regeneration.
Without delving deeply into the mechanics of human aging, it can be assumed that the new method does not have errors in cell division.
This means that a natural born undead will be able to grow, but will not age after a certain age. For us, this age is about 25 years.

This is what I roughly understood so far (or confidently figured out, based on the information I got, lol).

How many potential do I need to speed up a skill gain? I'm trying to level dual wielding.

It takes the base value of the item, so a honeycomb with +7 enhancement and +7 quality would not make a good wine, but the honeycomb +7 will bake into sugar with base +7 quality

Mana body seems to be falling out of the meta with this new anti-magic effect.
1. Increases your physical damage (up to 90%?).
2. Reduces magic damage and healing taken by up to 90%.
3. Weakens your spells by a lot.
4. Reduces your mana (down to 1).

So now if you want an effective warrior, it all comes down to Golem, hillfolk and demigod.
Opatos and Yevan seem like the only choices.
Exactly what I tried to avoid, lol.

Hopefully, battle mages and Horome followers won't be left out entirely.

Haven't tested it yet, but it looks like building one general stat for damage and defense is much easier than picking a million resistances from each element. Might be useful for tanking pets.

I guess lighting Intonation + wet + bane (with excommunication) + elemental scar can still beat pure physical damage.

As far as I know, even instruments with performance quality bonus have no effect for now, since you can't actually equip them.
You'll probably want to use one instrument, since they all need to be trained separately. You get better pay if you don't mess up, and that's tied to the instrument, not your music skill.
With a high music skill, the audience won't try to kill you (as often), so it's safe to practice new instruments later.

I know people will say "but magic is already powerful!", but I still would like Noa to implement more buffing spells.
Specifically ones for resistances. Either that or modify already existing spells.
For example, make an Iron Body spell that greatly increases Cut resistance.

I think I just learned something crucial. In supposedly easy level 1 areas, I sometimes get ganked by tough mobs and die from full HP in 1-2 hits. I just left my base without my little girl companion and didn't notice for awhile. Twintails weren't hostile and didn't spawn ~3 holy ghosts that normally 1-2 shot me. I think maybe she's been unnecessarily making everyone aggro via taunting. Twintails/holy ghosts are my only cause of death that I've lost to more than once, so I'd really like to never fight them again

There are still questions about what wraith actually looks like.
We have lich portraits in the gallery (pale humans), but wraith? A complete mystery.
It's not a zombie, because we have zombie little sisters portraits. And zombies are more physically tough with their 125 life.
It's not a ghost, because there are ghosts in the game, they are a different race and have a different set of resistances. (Although they are pretty close to wraith in life and mana stats (30/130))
Also, all non-playable undead races have the undead 2 trait, so they are kind of more dead.

Which basically leaves us with these assumptions:
1. Wraith has a body and can't live without it, like ghosts.
They are much more vulnerable, closer to humans than ghosts, which indicates their physical nature.
Humans can also train a lesser version of mana body to stay alive when mortally wounded (executioner class), while ghosts do not have it by default.
2. Wraith's body was not specifically enhanced for magic or resistance.
Liches probably rebuild their bodies when they turn undead so they can withstand their immense magic powers, while wraiths do not.
This could mean that while liches engineered themselves into undead, wraiths could originally come back to life spontaneously, like revenants (literally too angry to die) and then reproduce naturally.
I'm not sure if this "spontaneous" part is supported by the lore. It could have been some kind of curse or just another way to become undead, discovered independently.
Broader speculation could be that they descended from someone of executioners caste who abused the mana body to the point of becoming undead.
3. While the low life stat might indicate that the undead should look weak, sickly or malnourished, liches and wraiths are just as capable of physical labor as other races.
While this contradicts the description (lack the physical stamina for direct combat), it might just be Noa's way of saying "your HP is low, deal with it."

It would have been so much easier if Noa had just renamed wraith to vampire and called it a day.

No. A Lich can take the Executioner class for mana body and Mani's ring for resistances, and then worship Opatos for his hammer and blessing.
This will be the tankiest tank in the game by far.
Wraith can only be better if you avoid godwhoring at all costs and worship Horome forever.
It's the only warrior who can ignore Opathos' hammer completely and never regret it.
And you also have complete freedom of class choice due to the built-in mana body 2. So much freedom in fact that you can make an effective warrior out of any class and it will make sense. Melee wizard, combat pianist, the witcher - any combo is viable.
But if you are willing to use everything, the lich is better.
