A nice story based on the Destruction of Gensokyo made by one Anon in the last thread.

Final part. I think in one of these there is a typo

What was this?
>>
I guess I have a question related to fanfics
any OCs you've seen in those stories that you like? Could be because they fit really well into the world or because they're Coldsteel tier bad.
>>
>>49952898
Many anons including myself were talking about the unnamed protagonist in the Destruction of Gensokyo and it's sequel.

One Anon made a long post criticizing the character. He wasn't cold steel bad. He was just way too overpowered and it read like a power fantasy for the author.

I think the character's name was John.
>>
>>49952898
Some of the fics sometimes have a harem protagonist. Not my cup of tea.

The Russian Maribel Hearn fanfic doesn't feature her until way later in the story. It's more of a Scarlet Devil Mansion fic. It explains how Remilia and Flandre got their vampiric powers and slowly introduces the other occupants like Patchouli.
>>
Here's another story an anon shared. Set in Naples.
>>
Unrelated, I just read a fanfic where Camilla from FE:Fates transforms everyone into copies of herself. Everyone who experience their transformation is horrified of what's happening. Sick stuff. It's supposed to be erotic but it came out as very creepy to me.
>>
Endless hours spent on slop with AI writing, i have barely touched waifu's story in months
>>
Any yurifics?
>>
>>49955669
I know exactly what you mean. It's sad to say that I'm actually having fun with ChatGPT than actually writing anything. Sometimes the AI would give me something that makes no sense and gets a chuckle out of me.
>>
>>49955669
>>49955677
I don't know about you guys but I got into the habit of writing a paragraph or so and feeding it into a bot to critique and refine.
>>
>>49955681
That sounds very efficient and all but I can't trust AI with solving anything. I was in a trade school and the instructor immediately knew who was using AI in their test because it consistently gave them the wrong answers.
>>
>>49955677
For me it's been Deepseek which has drained easily a few hundred hours of my time by now. Specially since i've gotten to the rhytm of before bed spending one or two+ hours every night just making waifu stories with the both

>>49955681
Personally i usually write the scaffolding of sorts for the story, then i let the bot write out and flesh out the full short story. Usually just a small 3-5k words stories depicting a specific moment in a grander story
>>
>>49955604
That should be the default punishment to annoying people I dislike posting in my threads
>>
>>49955686
As a programmer, AI shines when you already master a topic, if tou are using it to solve something you aren't familiar with, then every mistake of the AI will go under your nose and will compound until it breaks. But if you already know the subject then you can dust off the occasional minor issue and you can just keep using it as a helper, akin to a junior dev by your side who you task to google and figure out menial matters while you worry about the larger structure of the code
>>
>>49955693
>That should be the default punishment to annoying people

That's actually what motivated her to transform people into her. She did it to save her kingdom, Hishido, and the rest of the world.
>>
>>49955686
I don't put anything the AI spits out into the final document. I use it like a developmental editor-beta reader, because one of the few things it's actually good at is combing through text and giving an analysis of it, for instance, when the text is too heavy on dialogue, when it slows down with too generous descriptions and so on. It also does a not entirely terrible job of telling me what the reader is likely to think and can feign a surface level knowledge in any topic I want to push it for... more advanced ones and the AI tends to get things wildly wrong.
The big problem is that I write smut and I have to aggressively sanitise what I show the AI. Sadly.

>>49955692
I tried that, and while the AI can generate text fast, for me to like it I have to do so much editing and revising it turns out to be less work to just do it myself and make the bot be a low level editor instead.
>>
>>49955705
Different perspectives then, i usually lay out a series of points almost the AI has to touch on, how the scene starts, some of hte points the conversations or actions lead to, whatever extra descriptions or other on top stuff to add. And the AI usually does a good job at following what i had in mind, some times i do have to add more descriptions or be more specific of the tone of a scene since for example Deepseek likes to be kind of dramatic. But otherwise i really enjoy how specially the reasoner model is very varied with it's output, with each reroll it can paint a whole different scene that still more or less shows the same feeling or sentiment to it.
But as i said if one wants a more stable and more defined image of what to write then that advantage in my eyes can be seen as a disadvantage instead.
Also for sanitization usually using the API works to get around all of that, i've also had the AI write a lot of very explicit smut even if officially on their page they forbid anything lewd
>>
>>49955705
>I don't put anything the AI spits out into the final document. I use it like a developmental editor-beta reader, because one of the few things it's actually good at is combing through text and giving an analysis of it

That's pretty good.

>The big problem is that I write smut and I have to aggressively sanitise what I show the AI. Sadly.

Hate that they have to lobotomize it

So after reading the destruction of gensokyo, I noticed that there were many opportunities to get rid of the Christian guy but he was given plot armor and Eiki protecting him. Whatever happened to Sumireko? She kept contact with Rinnosuke and suddenly just doesn't appear anymore? The author explained why she was absent in the beginning but I thought that was BS.
>>
>>49972607
I was wondering when Hearn and Renko was going to show up. At least Hearn show up at the end before disappearing after what happened to Yukari. It made me wonder what could've happened if Hearn and Renko did something about the guy who destroyed Gensokyo in the outside world.
>>
>>49949615
Unironically a big reason why I want to get into Touhou (harem) fanfic writing is for a good excuse to make a bunch of AI sloppa pics to go with it.
>>
>>49975558
I mentioned this before but one fun way I use AI is by having Touhou take place in other countries like Italy, Russia, and South America.
>>
>>49977537
And by South America I mean Argentina.
>>
>>49949608
Another one for the OP
>https://novelpia.com/novel/276475
>Stories big and small that occur while driving a train in Gensokyo, where Yo Ji-kyung, who was a sincere engineer, is kidnapped by Yukari and learns [the ability to handle the railroad].
Korean webnovel slop.
>>
>>49979064
Man, I've been thinking about making a web novel. When I found out you don't have to be "good" at drawing, I think I can manage if I tried.
>>
AI can be pretty repetitive when it comes to storytelling. When I was having fun with it, it always end the story in a similar way. The girls lived happily ever after and they become legends after some time has last. Every time it also has a part way they go into a secret underground passageway to a little secret underground room. Found it kind of funny.
>>
Doesn't really matter where I set the story. It can be in Africa or In Russia. ChatGPT will end up giving me something it's already done.
>>
Has anybody else had trouble with AI not given them exactly what they want. I'm retarded when if comes to "fine tuning" the AI on how exactly you want it to act.
>>
>>49984083
It's not something you can fully control. Thing about AI is that you can fine tune it until it gives you what want, but what people want are different, and there is a ceiling to the output produced by AI. If your expectations go beyond what can be given then no amount of fine tuning will fix that issue. People who say you just have to keep trying are people whose interests happen to align with what is possible with AI or are basically telling you you need to try one million times until inspiration hits (which, duh, of course it will statistically by that point). You're not exactly going to get the next literary masterpiece with ChatGPT

What ails your creative troubles, anon?
>>
Do you guys read japanese fics on Pixiv? What translator do you use for the raunchier ones that chatgpt doesn't like?
>>
>>49987948
I just use the translator on Brave. It's not perfect and I'm sure there are better ones.

119 KB JPG
>>49986839
>What ails your creative troubles, anon?

The fact that I always fantasize about writing a book but never actually do it. I shouldn't blame AI too much because it's my fault that I'm not writing or improving my drawing skills.
>>
>>49955098
Oh shoot, someone capped my thing
>>
>>49988791
I'll say it's pretty good. You beat me to the punch because I wanted to make a Touhou fanfic set in Italy however over time I've been playing that scenario in my head so many times that I've began making new characters. The only thing in common it has with Touhou is the young girl protagonist and mysticism. Instead of Shinto beliefs, I replaced it with the native Roman faith. Not in your face about it. Just characters based of the native religion and their philosophies and more of that frilly western style that ZUN had in the earlier years before almost exclusively making it Japanese.
>>
I wished ZUN brought in more "western culture" into Touhou. We saw it in the western style dresses Remilia and others worn. I mean yeah there was the moon and references to America a couple of times as well Reisen's clothes but, more of what was shown in the earlier era would be great. It has such a different vibe compared to now.
>>
Of course there are western style characters introduced like Marisa and Alice and the Prismriver sisters. Now that I think about it, there are a lot more western style characters than I remember. I think it's because they don't get enough spotlight.
>>
>>49991384
You're making me blush, anon.
I really need to graduate to making actual stories/fics
>>
Awww. Yeah me to but I love procrastinating and riding my motorcycle.
>>
>>49993723
I need to graduate from gooning to wrooting my fics. You think ZUN loves his characters so much that in the very last game he will give them all good endings?
>>
>>49995376
Lol, same but also working in it and my project car.
>>
>>49997637
Is the source of that from a game?
>>
>>50001044
No unfortunately. I just typed in Touhou and Good_end in Gel and found it. This one is for bad_end.
>>
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of authors have been using AI to assist in their writing? I'm all against using it as like a tool assist and want to let my body do all the work but now I'm not so sure.
>>
My Headcannon that the Internet and signal in Gensokyo can reach the outside world and that's where Kaguya posts wojaks she created herself online.
>>
Do you think ZUN ever thought about putting more foreign characters in Gensokyo? Like mesoamerican, South American, and European pagan into the mix? We already have vampires with hats.
>>
Wouldn't hurt to have more tanned characters like CIRNO.
>>
How do I extend my writings?
I have trouble getting past short story/greentext level length
>>
>>50010046
What's helps me get the creative juices flowing is taking inspiration from real life experiences and interactions. Also really paying attention to music lyrics and movies can help inspire. You can get inspired by a genre and shape it into something original. You should start with a draft first.
>>
>>50010083
Real life experiences? Here, on /jp/?
Wrong board, wrong people.
>>
>>50010087
Lmao. I really hope it's not that bad. There has to be some anons that go outside and experience life instead of just going out for the necessities.

>>50010090

>>
>>50009815

>>
>>50010046
1. The best thing you can do is increase the scale. You don't have to make it a full-on adventure. But it should be large enough so that enough meaningful events can be had within your story to make it feel more "complete". It would be hard to make an epic about something mundane like taking a shower. It would be a lot easier to make a full story ranging from childhood to adulthood.

2. Go deeper into the consequences (either past or future). They don't all have to be related to each other, but it's easier at times to think of it that way. If you can't or would rather not, then you can take the most common causes of your story's consequences and explore them in different scenarios.

3. Reviewing your thought process for how you come up with story ideas could also help reveal what to change or improve on. You have a whole thread to try it
>>
>>50017274
What do you think about introducing characters late into the story? I think it's best to introduce characters gradually in the first few chapters and stop at the halfway point.
>>
>>50019675
Characters can be introduced whenever. What's important is that their inclusions are natural and of real value, which of course gets harder the later they arrive
>>
>>50019675
That depends. Late introductions can work well if the writer plans out their role early on and what they were up to before their introduction. That way, they feel like a natural part of the world instead of something the writer decided to slap on because they felt like it.
>>
>>50019720
I see, foreshadowing the character before their reveal.
>>
>>50019763
You could foreshadow. Or you could make it feel natural in other ways. Like, say, knowing a character like that could be introduced given pre-established patterns (about the setting, about minor characters you've already run into, about blank spots in given information, etc.)

You're writing Touhou fics anyway so unless most of your cast is ocs I doubt you need to think that hard about it
>>
>>50019793
Lol you're right. If I foreshadowed a touhou character someone would've figured it out already.

Philosophical question:

Do you think in most fan-works, that the writers
get Reimu's character wrong?
I saw almost all the fan-anime and i swear the
writers just write Reimu like an anime josei.

not counting that modern amateurs re-write
everything for their fiat anyway....

The response to it.

Everyone makes their own interpretation of each character. Even ZUN himself is inconsistent.

Nitori for example went from being a shy person who had trouble interacting with others, cared about people's safety and was a fair loser who ordered her underlings to let the heroine pass through, to the complete polar opposite around the time of Hopeless Masquerade where she is now confidence incarnate, is an abusive boss to her employees, screws over her employers with one-sided contracts, insults anyone she meets and genuinely thinks she's a superior being to everyone in Gensokyo.

Regarding Reimu, honestly people have plenty of official material to "justify" their versions. One manga chapter can have Reimu be extra grumpy towards youkai, and another she will be a literal saint and save Mizuchi even when Yukari wants her to be killed off for good and everyone else wants her to be banished to the underground hell until she dissipates from existence. One chapter will have Reimu being lazy and another will have her fully committed to her job. One game will have Reimu be confused and angry about the incident while in another game she'll be all cool, self-aware and carefree.

Yes, I, a human villager, meet Yuugi during the events of Hopeless Masquerade while she's in the villager.
Through a number of following encounters we fall in love, but due to Reimu and the rules surrounding the human village, various events happen, resulting in Mamizou and Suika helping me fake my death.
Reimu only finds out I'm alive by the time I'm in the underground and marrying Yuugi.

I've had one in my head for years. But I'm not sure when I'll get around to it.

The main character is a ex-prophet who was banished to Gensokyo for failing to uphold a promise to his god. He travels the region to find a way back, but soon learns that those who can help him are few and far in between.

In time, Yukari comes to learn about his arrival and takes a cryptic interest in him. She tells him that Gensokyo hasn't seen new outsiders for the last 6 years. Magic and faith have all nearly declined into reserves. With the land itself turning into something much simpler, the people's way of life has changed with it. But why it all began remains a mystery.

In the hopes of solving it, she ends up pointing him to Reimu. Having overheard that he wants a way out, who better to help than the one who manages the separation of their worlds? The catch is that Reimu has been hard to find lately. "It's always hard to tell what's going on her. So you'll need to be patient."

Most of the details after I've yet to figure out. But what I have planned is this:
>It turns out the Hakurei have a forbidden spell type
>Originally it was healing magic, used to restore the "purest essence" of all life
>The first person to ever learn and use this became the first Hakurei Shrine Maiden
>The generations soon after that were forced to learn it would instead get curse magic
>Given the risk of failing was so high, attempting the spell became forbidden
>Because it was all so early in history, no one ever managed to figure out what its secrets actually were
>Fast forward to the present, Reimu is trying to learn how to use the spell to restore magic to Gensokyo and defeat the one behind the incident
>As it turns out, she learns later that the secret to learning that magic is understanding what the "purest essence of life" is
>The whole journey is a story of her learning to love

Was feeling sort-of stuck on a story beat but I think I got it figured out so I'm feeling more inspired.
I'll probably do some more key-art before writing everything out though, might wanna draw Yuuka next.

Yuuka is hard to write though... She has so little energy throughout the series it's hard to get her doing anything in a story

I'm thinking of making a fan-game where Gensokyo is turned into a completely different climate (seemingly overnight, from the perspective of the heroines).
I want to bring out different characters and explore how they react to the new environment. Like some gain, others have to change and adapt, others simply lose or suffer in the new environment...
I was kinda stuck on the HOW of the whole thing but I think I got it figured out in a satisfying way - now all that's left to do is to make it lol
>>
>>50083938
Mine come from world mythology, Zelda, Studio Ghibli, and of course some real life experiences. What I want to capture most is the idea that the most important developments happen over time naturally without us realizing it. But to do this for a story with intended themes and outcomes is really, really hard, because it means no important outcome can be traced to a single cause. So making up reasons for things to happen is annoying with how minimalist I have to be about it
>>
>>50084489
If and when you make progress on that fangame do let us know. The whole premise sounds extremely cool. Some of the Touhou fangames I love most also happen to be the ones that really sell you an angle on how Gensokyo *feels* to live through. And this sounds like it has some of the best potential to do that.

Also love your aesthetic. It gives me high hopes that you care that much about having the right delivery, and the kind of feel you want the experience to have. Makes me all the more excited to see it come to life

Would you happen to have any more story details?

Is a human marrying a youkai that taboo?
>>
>>50088719
It's probably taboo in the same way that you weren't allowed to be gay in overly conservative places. Some people might see and accept you but it's mostly uncommon and unheard of for one reason or another
>>
>>50089747

Curiosity of Lotus Asia chapters 3, 4, and 25. In them he talks about having faint memories of the outside world, knowing about the origin of the Hakurei shrine, and knowing of the previous Hakurei.
>>
>>50090530
It doesn't really matter when he was born if he was still allowed in the village in recent years despite his status, which shows acceptance towards the idea of hybrids. Either way, nowhere does it say marrying a youkai is taboo. The fact that friendly youkai like Keine and Yuuka are allowed in the village and the humans are even allowed to join a youkai-filled buddhist group shows that the animosity towards youkai isn't black and white and does have nuance.

Thanks, the idea is that she invites herself to his bar right as the events of HM end and she ends up inviting him to the shrine party afterwards. Half on a whim, half due to the alcohol selection he has and half due to him already being acquaintances with Mamizou (who in turn is friends with Suika.)
Of course he gets flustered, but despite how forceful Yuugi seems she's ignorant to his attraction and pays him both for the alcohol she drank, whatever his losses would be for the shrine party, and a bit extra.
I've already talked about the rest, but that's about as far as I have it planned out right now. I'm not sure if the part should go good or bad, but Mamizou and Suika will probably tease them both while pushing them together. All the while Reimu is too busy dealing with a Miko, Byakuren, and Kokoro.

A recurring idea I have is the idea of either finding your way to Gensokyo or mysteriously waking up there, with or without memories. Fairly standard stuff, but with the caveat that the MC isn't a human - he's some sort of supernatural entity in his own right, and has to figure out where and how they slot in to Gensokyo, without crushing themselves or causing an Incident.
Inspiration from a Fox in Paradise not optional.

Cool

A small figure darted far above the streets of the human village, cloaked in the inky veil of Gensokyo's night. Every few meters, she'd grasp a handful of "Fairy's Dust" from her pouch and throw it into the air behind her, glistening even in the darkness that had settled. Humans rarely ventured out this late, even in their own streets, which suited the fairy's purposes well. Stopping suddenly, the girl floated downwards, flitting into an alleyway and through a propped open hatch in an otherwise unassuming building. As the girl descended, she wondered if her master would praise her for her hard work. Probably not, as she's been in a rather capricious mood as of late, but the fairy was still hopeful.

Arriving at a heavy stone door, the fairy knocked in a rhythmic fashion and waited. A girlish voice echoed from the other side of the door.

"That wasn't even remotely close to the password we agreed upon. Were you even paying attention during our last briefing, Cloudy?"

Cloudy Pearl, a once nameless fairy who had been gifted one by her mistress a few days ago, responded with indignation, "It's not my fault you made the password so confusing!"

There was a several second silence before the door slowly begun to swing open, pushed by the thing arms of a young girl. Cloudy squeezed through to the vast and empty basement on the other side, illuminated on all sides by bright lanterns. She turned to face the slumped over form of her master, out of breath after heaving open such a heavy door. Her master, with an expression of mild annoyance, began to speak through heavy breaths.

"Did the other fairies complete their mission?"
"Of course! The attack on the Hakurei Shrine was a success, I'm certain we got her attention!"
"But what of..."
"We wrecked the donation box, of course!"
"Excellent! And you left a trail she could follow?"
"She would have to be a complete idiot to miss it."

The girl stood up, dusting off her skirt before beginning to chuck to herself.
"Good job, my subordinate! Everything is coming together!"

The fairy smiled brightly at the praise, as her master began walking to the other end of her secret base of operations. The young master's chuckling turned to full on cackling. Those years spent under the tutelage of the human village's best and brightest magicians, all her hard work would finally pay off as the world would come to know and fear the name...

The magician's train of thought was cut off as a loud explosion rung through the basement, flinging the one secure stone door several feet. Through the smoke a girl garbed in black and white floated into the vast basement, a confident grin stretched across her face. The mastermind, without a second thought, began the speech she had rehearsed a dozen times before tonight.

"Ha! So you've finally arrived Kirisame? I've been expec... Wait, Kirisame?!"
"Second best incident resolution specialist in Gensokyo, at your service!"
>>
>>50110891
The mastermind began to frown. She had known at the back of her mind this might happen, but she didn't really have a plan for this scenario. She began to pace back and forth, trying to improvise something, anything for this undesired turn of events. Marisa, as well, began to show an expression of annoyance.

"You're not... you're not disappointed that I showed up, are you?"
"No! No, of course not! I'm actually rather a fan of your work! It would be an honor to duel you, it's just..."
"Just what?"
"Well, you see, I was kind of hoping Hakurei would..."

Marisa's annoyance began to turn to mild anger. "Seriously?! This again?! I keep telling you troublemakers, I'm just as good as Reimu. It's always "Oh but I wanted the shrine maiden, not some smelly forest hobo." Is it so hard to temper your expectations just a little?"

The mastermind, flustered by this sudden outburst, responded hastily. "No, that's not it at all. I would love to be thwarted by someone like you. It's just that I have very specific grievances with Hakurei that I'd really like to..."
"They why send fairies to cause a ruckus? Why not just go down to her shrine and just talk to her?"
"...What?"
"Go down to the Hakurei Shrine, and just talk to her. This isn't the sort of thing you need to start an incident over. You're clearly not a youkai, so I'm not even sure why you'd feel the need to act like one."
"But she wouldn't take me seriously..."
"Then you clearly don't have any 'grievances' serious enough to bother her with. That aside, you made your intentions too obvious with the brightly lit trail. I only followed it because I was bored, I doubt Reimu is stupid enough to fall into such an obvious trap aimed specifically at her."

The incident's mastermind began to tear up, she wasn't expecting someone to just completely shut her down without a fight. Marisa, seeing this unexpected reaction, suddenly changed her tone. "Look, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."
"No, you're right, this whole thing was stupid. I should just..."
"No, no, it's really ambitious to try to start trouble with Reimu of all people with just a few dozen fairies! Look, I'd still be happy to fight you if you want!"
"No, I just don't really feel like it anymore. You're right, I was being immature and..."
"Come on, just tell me your name at least and I can tell Reimu you want to meet her."
"I-it's..."

The sounds of danmaku combat began to resonate in the mostly empty chamber. Cloudy, who had wandered off early into the conversation between incident resolution expert and incident mastermind, called out for her master from outside the room. "SHE'S HE-" was all she managed to mutter before a deafening silence overtook the basement. From the now empty door frame stepped one Hakurei Reimu. She looked around the room with a mix of mild irritation and confusion. Her eyes instantly locked onto Marisa, and her expression softened slightly.

"Oh, Marisa? What are you doing here? I'm guessing you have the situation under control?"

Marisa, concerned, looked toward the magician in the center of the room. The mastermind sighed, muttering under her breath: "Fine, whatever, I guess we're still doing this."
>>
>>50110902
The incident mastermind, after futilely trying to conceal the redness of her eyes, began to posture grandly.
"Hakurei Shrine Maiden, you've fallen right into my trap!"
Reimu, squinting at the young girl in the rooms center, asked: "Were you just crying?"
"Be quite! I have something important to tell you!"
Reimu, crossed her arms, as if implicitly telling her opponent to continue. The village girl began her diatribe once again: "You might be wondering why I brought you here tonight-"
"Not really~"
The girl shot Reimu a nasty expression before continuing: "You see, Hakurei, I'm putting you on trial on the behalf of the human village, for your crimes against humanity and Gensokyo!"
Reimu's irritation turned to mild contempt.
"I've been doing my research, Hakurei, interrogating, interviewing, and collecting evidence, and what I've found paints a rather disturbing picture of someone complacent with foreign bad actors!"
Reimu retorted: "What are you even talking about?"
"Take for instance, the recent invasion of Gensokyo by mechanical spiders?"
"What of it?"
"Is it not true that you ended up assisting the invaders?"
"Well, yeah, that was the only way to get them to leave."
"Very convenient... And what about the animal spirit invasion, did you not end up a pawn in the animal's schemes as well?"
Reimu was uncharacteristically silent.
"The black water incident wasn't even resolved by you and we still all got played by some bad actor, but I guess it was OK because you broke up some unrelated scheme in former hell! A vengeful spirit tries to destroy us all, causing immeasurable damages during her indulgent fights, and you turn around and apologize to her?! You were completely useless during that land grab too. Then you most recently capitulated to those mech spider folks AGAIN?! You didn't even resolve anything, the impurities still altered Gensokyo from what I'm told, so really you should just move in with those mechanical spider foreigners because you clearly seem to prefer them over us!"
Reimu finally snapped back: "What, you don't think I'm tired of all these secret manipulations and being made to look like a fool too?! Every other incident it feels like I didn't accomplish anything, like I just played into some jerk's hands! But if I didn't act in any of those situations Gensokyo would be far worse off! And are you seriously calling me a Lunarian sympathizer?"
The mastermind tried to respond, confused, "A Lun-?" before being cut off by the increasingly incensed shrine maiden. "And another thing, what's with everyone telling me I shouldn't have found a peaceful resolution with Mizuchi? Seriously, I kill that fortune teller for disrupting the order of Gensokyo, that gap hag gets mad. I try to spare Mizuchi despite disrupting the order of Gensokyo, that gap hag gets mad!"
Marisa attempted to speak up: "Reimu, I didn't know..."
Reimu raises her voice: "And aren't you doing the same exact thing, girl, trying to use me like some pawn?!"
The mastermind, unsure of how to respond, meekly speaks up: "T-this is different, I was just trying to-"
Reimu cuts her off: "I wasn't sure what I was expecting to find seeking out the culprits that had covered my shrine in this obnoxious glitter, but it sure as hell wasn't some deranged incident fanatic with some stupid fake incident! And why? Because my 'incident resolutions' don't have satisfying enough conclusions for you! What am I, some sick form of entertainment for you!?" The young girl begins attempting to respond, but Reimu doesn't give her the chance.
"You even targeted my donation box specifically for some reason! I get I can be a bit frugal but I don't like this strange implied characterization that money is my primary concern!"
Reimu stops, letting the awkward nature of the current conversation hang.
"You think it's so easy, huh? Little stupid shrine maiden goes on feel good adventures and screws up because she's stupid? You think you could do better? Then let's put that theory to the test!"
Marisa, surprised, speaks up "Reimu... what are you...?"
Reimu pulls an outside world device from one of her loose sleeves. A weapon confiscated from a troublesome girl not too long ago.
"You're such a big fan of incidents, aren't you? Well then you must know what this is."
The girl excitedly chimes in, "Oh! That was a weapon used by that outsider that's working at Kourindou, right?" Her excitement fades as she realizes the implications of said weapon.
Reimu, with a deranged smile, responds by turning the firearm towards her own head "I'm going to destroy Gensokyo, and you're going to try to stop me!"
Marisa, shocked, yelled out, "Reimu, don't you think you're taking this a little too far?!"
The young girl, visibly crying once more, mutters out: "I-I'll stop you and... your incident? ...For the good of humanity?"
And thus began the confrontation between an unheroic incident resolution novice and the pent up frustrations of an incident resolution expert.

Honestly should try reading some of these fanfics. Even if a lot of them sound kind of bad, I've been nostalgic for 2008 era fanfiction net Touhou fanfics.
>>
Might as well dump my idea for a Touhou/Deltarune fangame here.

So, I want to start making my own fangame and right now I'm brainstorming a lot of the central ideas while also working on the basis of the gameplay. The core concept overall is fairly simple: It's a Touhou fangame done in the style of Deltarune. Aka: While the gameplay is based on Deltarune, and there are some similarities in the story, the actual story is pretty much all Touhou. It takes place in Gensokyo, all of the characters are from Touhou, and even the themes and story are generally Touhou. At the same time the gameplay is pretty much all Deltarune, being a RPG/Bullet Hell hybrid with pacifist/violent options and a lot of secrets.

Gameplay:
Gameplay wise, like I said above, the main idea is overwhelmingly to copy Deltarune. The main difference being that I intend to have a maximum of 4 party members and 5 maximum enemies. I also intend to divide armor into accessories and body armor, rather than just having two armor slots. Still, at least some of the fights will obviously take quite a bit of inspiration from Touhou though, up to and including using actual Touhou bullet patterns when appropriate. I'm currently looking at using a game maker, though I am also considering other engines to actually make the game.

Story:
The basic story synopsis is fairly simple: You play as a young human villager, largely customizable(Unlike Deltarune that is NOT a rug pull) but always with the same background: When you were a baby your parents died in a fire, and you were taken in by the Kyubi family as a servant. A group of very rich and very influential merchants who functionally run a decent chunk of the human village. You grew up there alongside their two sons, being very close your entire life, until the oldest son, Kyubi Hiro, perished under mysterious circumstances. You, for reasons nobody in the human village really understands, were blamed for this and kicked out of the mansion(Though you were given a small shack and an education by Keine). Since then, you have been trying to become a Youkai exterminator. Unfortunately for you, you are generally weak and powerless. Almost nobody believes you'll actually be able to pass the test to turn into a Youkai exterminator. With the likes of Keine, who is otherwise very supportive, even believing you are simply doing this to throw your life away. Only your childhood friend, heir apparent to the Kyubi family and would be Onmyōji, Shiso has any faith in you to succeed. It soon becomes apparent however, as you meet a young Youkai named Aiko, that there is a far greater problem facing both Gensokyo and you than simply your future career as Youkai exterminator.

Overall, thematically, a lot of the story is about stuff I, and I think mostly I, find interesting about Touhou. The questionable morality of the characters and setting, the nature of Gensokyo as a refuge for an era that has long since passed, the nature of youkai as memetic creatures, and just what it would be like to live as a human villager. It's also somewhat born out of my own frustration with much of the Touhou fandom and the way they approach the setting and characters (Or, to be more precise, don't in my eyes) as well as Touhou as a whole. Still, I do largely intend it to be a positive and not mean spirited love letter to Touhou rather than a cynical takedown. Even if there is an option to burn Gensokyo down to the ground. On that note...

Secrets:
Similar to Deltarune being filled with secrets, even if many of them are currently unknown in their overall purpose, I intend for my fangame to have at least two: There will be secret bosses, they will be way harder than normal bosses, they will drop rewards, and those rewards will have some effect on the story.
>>
>>50113519
(continuing)
There is also the cursed weapon route, which is largely the equivalent of the genocide/weird route... sort off. It largely consists of finding a way to kill Youkai, this not being something that is ordinarily easily done, and then having to decide to use it or not. This decision will, unsurprisingly, have major consequences for the story and can potentially even open up an entirely different ending.

Need:
When it comes to brainstorming right now the main thing I need is to sort out some story concepts, fix them before I actually start making the game, and also figure out the third lead. I want them to be naive and young youkai. My first idea is Aiko, who is a young wolf youkai vaguely based on a RPG character, who used to be one of Satori’s pets. The other one is Medicine Melancholy, who is an actual character that exists and is generally well less natured than Aiko but otherwise still meets the bill.

Otherwise, my main priority is to write down chapter 1 in detail and get the general gameplay working. Eventually I will need a sprite artist, or learn how to do that myself, and possibly somebody to compose the music (Though I have a backup plan). Still, like I said, I want to pick up obvious faults in the story as quickly as possible and if necessary will look at writing a more detailed general story summary to pick out faults.
>>
>>50113519
What do you think will be the easiest to make this game in?
>>
>>50116187
I'll try the actual Deltarune/Undertale fan game engine called Kristal. It should be rather powerful and from what I can hear it's open source and thus easy to change if you want to do something more ambitious.

>>50113519

>>
>>50117775
I am. Even started writing a script and making character profiles. Just wish I knew what a actual design document looks like since right now I'm winging it.

Nice to see you are still working on it. I think I saw you earlier in the thread.

I know Cirno is a fairy. I thought if it's supernatural I can kind of be counted as a yokai.

Thanks, I need to stop procrastinating with my fanfic. Hopefully I can knock out another chapter faster this time around, there's still a lot of exploring the PC-98 cast I'd like to get around to. Especially Louise.

This is great, can you please continue. I want to see what the mastermind will learn from that incident.

No problem. I need to stop procrastinating on my drawing. Don't rush yourself with the next chapter. Pace yourself. Hopefully you get through the whole PC-98 cast

I appreciate your responses. I can't think of a way to make a direct continuation from that point terribly interesting, so I hope you don't mind an epilogue instead.

EPILOGUE

As the dawn began to peak over the mountains overlooking the Hakurei Shrine, the figure of two girls could be seen, sweeping the shrine's grounds. Though the girls' efforts over the last hour had progressively cleared the shrine of a majority of its "Fairy's Dust", the early rays of the sun caught on the splotchy remnants that had been missed; a glistening reminder that there still remained plenty of work to be done. Reimu sighed, resting against her broom momentarily. While she enjoyed the serenity of moments like this, the tedium of shrine maintenance sometimes made her wish for a real incident to stave off the boredom of chores. Still a mess from last night's battle, Reimu took a second to fix herself up, straightening out the large bow adorning her hair, and fixing the sleeves of her robe. She glanced towards the strange young girl from the village. She was cleaning diligently, her short brown hair bouncing with every movement of her broom as her eyes nervously scanned her environment. Reimu figured the girl must have been at least a few years younger than herself, her meek frame concealed behind loose carmine clothes. The girl's eyes met Reimu's, and her entire body tensed. The girl swiftly broke eye contact, cleaning with increased haste. Reimu sighed, and returned to sweeping as well.
Sitting on the shrine's stairs, watching the two defeated instigators of the prior night's two incidents, the dark horse victor enjoyed her breakfast of natto over rice.

Marisa yelled out to her friend: "I hope you're not slacking on the job, Reimu. It's the loser's duty to as the winner says! It'd be no good if we got a visitor to the shrine in this state!"
"Stop acting like this is your shrine!" Reimu shouted back.
Marisa responded with a smile: "It might as well be. I'm here so often that it's practically my second home~"

Reimu let out a groan, born half from annoyance and half from fatigue. While Reimu would have typically held an advantage (albeit, not a large one) while dueling the now arrogant black and white magician, Marisa had pulled a dirty trick and jumped into the fight while she was distracted with that other girl.

Marisa shoved a glob of natto into her mouth before continuing, "That aside, I'm not sure what you expected would happen when you said something as crazy as 'I'm going to destroy Gensokyo, mwuhaha!'."
"It's not like I was actually going to do it," Reimu shot another glance at the defeated village girl who, sensing her gaze, began to sweep even faster, "I just wanted to scare that one straight."
"Oh! That reminds me!" Marisa jumped from the shrine steps, floating up to the prior night's 'mastermind', "I don't think you ever gave us your name."

The girl froze as all eyes fell on her. She nervously responded, "N-not for a lack of trying, Ms. Kirisame..." glancing back and seeing the unamused expression of a frightening shrine maiden, the girl continued "It's Nakamura... Nakamura Mayu."

Marisa smiled, careful not to startle the young girl, and returned her attention to Reimu, "I get you wanted to teach her a lesson, but you didn't need to scare poor Mayu half to death like that!" Marisa smacked Mayu on the back, causing the nervous girl to nearly jump, "You even had me going for a bit!"
Reimu grumbled in response: "I was about to beat Mayu to a pulp too, and Gensokyo would have been mine to destroy~"
"Don't even joke about that~!"

Reimu let out a deep sigh, and with a softened expression turned to Mayu, "Look... Mayu, it's not like I'm completely happy with how some of these incidents have gone down either. Constantly pulled into other people's schemes... But, my top priority is maintaining the sanctity of Gensokyo, and so long as that fragile peace is maintained I can't afford to concern myself over the specifics."
Mayu, for the first time since being abducted and brought to the shrine grounds, relaxed ever so slightly, "I apologize for what I said last night, Ms. Hakurei. I had no right to judge you, especially when I lacked perspective on how difficult your job is. I felt upset and powerless seeing incidents that lacked a clean conclusion, and I unfairly used you as a scapegoat for that frustration."
"Don't call me 'Ms.'! It makes me sound old!"

Marisa forced herself between the two of them, bits of natto flying through the air as she spoke: "Aww, what a sweet apology... But you both still have to clean this mess up~"
Reimu, annoyance flaring up once more, responded: "I'd probably be stuck cleaning this mess up regardless of who won!"
"Maybe, but I brought you some help, didn't I? Really, you should be thanking me..."
"If you really want my thanks, why don't you grab a broom and make yourself useful?"
"Hmm?! Ahh, well... Maybe after I finish my breakfast~"

The curtain had closed on another incident, a minor footnote in the history of Gensokyo. And, although she was defeated that night, Reimu felt the burden on her shoulders had somehow become slightly lighter.

It's weird, but no. Youkai are a very specific thing with their own traits different from creatures like fairies (Who are nature spirits).

The main idea why killing Youkai is special is because, going by a lot of the lore, they are VERY tough to kill. Normally it's mentioned that Youkai literally CAN'T be killed without special equipment (Legendary weapons, blessed weapons, holy power) which none of the main characters have (It's mentioned that getting your hands on that equipment is hard enough that even most Youkai exterminators don't have any). So, the only enemies you actually kill if you resort to fighting is fairies. The main characters generally aren't inclined to kill humans. Youkai and Gods meanwhile can't be killed by normal weapons. Any most "other" enemies generally have weirdness around them.

I will need to catch up on this in a little while, shitpost stories like this can be fun sometimes but, on the subject of fan fiction in threads, I hope you don't mind if I have something to ask related to my own work since you're the most recent writer to have posted here and I don't mean to commandeer things much.
I've been slowly updating a story I like to do for the Renko threads that's been going on since August of last year and I have one last series of posts to wrap things up before completion, though >>50034870 was very recently archived. I initially considered using the current Maribel thread as an emergency fail-safe but part of me also wants that thread to be able to still exist as a normal character thread.
If it's alright with the posters here, may I finish the current Part here a few hours from now or so? I'm also willing to provide a tl;dr on the current story so far for anyone unfamiliar but still curious.

Well, for anyone still waiting on it, I'm going to go ahead and post the rest shortly since I figure it would've been alright anyways. Gave myself time to finish the ending graphic as I've usually done since the last entry, unfortunately, didn't end up with one to wrap it up due to a blunder on my part and I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice (plus I'm trying something new with it).
Anyone who still may not be familiar can just look up "Renkoquest Archives" on warosu to eventually find the rentry link if needed. Incoming handful of dense posts ahead:

"I was actually hoping you may be able to help us shed some light on the greater situation in return for your precious hat. Of course, you may refuse and leave with the hat in your hands now regardless, though I had figured it safe to assume you would wish to get to the bottom of this just as badly if given the opportunity."

"Look, here it is now! See?"

Renko watched as the Princess 'miraculously' pulled out the more stoutly-shaped flat brim she had lost that fateful morning, placing it on her own hatless head in the meantime for the sake of whimsical transparency.
It had likely just been sitting on the floor next to her this entire time.

"Hmmph. Alright, sure. How can I help then?"
"It's simple really, I just need to cross-reference some key pieces of information with you and confirm a few underlying suspicions of mine. With enough luck, we may even be able to reach a definitive conclusion within the next few minutes." The Doctor begins to ready a tightly-bound and ancient-looking office file organizer that had also been sitting next to her person, presumably to acquire some documents that were apparently relevant to Renko somehow. It was a much better approach to interrogation than what was conducted at the SDM, that's for sure.
"Right. Actually! I have something I'd like to return as well before we get too caught up in things." Renko joined the other two by pulling up her own item, her handbag, onto the kotatsu to finally retrieve what Marisa had previously stolen for her sake. It could also potentially come in handy if the college girl would need to retrieve her own documents for the discussion ahead.

Just before pulling out the ornate tin, Renko swore to herself that she could overhear a powerful yet distant howl ring throughout the stalks outside that nobody else seemed to acknowledge. She could feel a single drop of sweat trail down the side of her face as she eyed the nearby window for a moment.

"Here Dr. Yagokoro, I drank everything from the other stolen bottle but there's still a lot of uh...Lotion? In there." The canister is slid over to Eirin just as she pulls out a few small, weathered sheets of crumpled lined note paper. The battered parchments were partially caked with dirt and stained a strong yellow in most areas, though otherwise looked like the kind of average loose-leaf Renko was used to taking private field-notes on. Especially during Club activities.
"Oh my, how wonderful! I was nearly worried we would have to wait until Marisa's full recovery to get this back, the herbs I'd need to make an exact equivalent mixture in this same quantity are currently out of season. Thank you Miss Usami."
"Isn't that the salve you use for the burn victims we sometimes get, Eirin? Oh—That reminds me! Renko, who led you over to Eientei before Tewi brought you inside?"
"Some recluse in a purple kimono living out of a hoarders shack closer to the Village. What's the deal with her anyways?"
"Awww...so you didn't even get the chance to meet Mokou-tan? What a shame."
"That Woman...'/Princess/' Kotohime, has been eccentrically parading around the greater southern half of Gensokyo for nearly thirty years now. She once attempted an independent coup against Tewi and the other Inabas, claiming to one day usurp her given position of grandfathered leadership and assume the role as 'Commanding Officer over All Little Rabbits', though largely seems occupied with gallivanting about as the Human Village's very own Police Squadron. A wholly-unnecessary one at that. The fact you were able to extract any use out of her involvement at all is surprising in its Own right."
"I see..."

"Furthermore, she was born and raised within the Village walls while Eientei had already been Well established within the Bamboo Forest in secret centuries prior. She has little affiliation with anybody in the area, unlike you, who seemingly carries an enigmatic sense of personality strong enough to impact everyone you've apparently come across so far."
"Well...okay sure, but what's your point then? It's not as if that's been on pure purpose here, y'know."
"My main point is that this trait seems to have even extended towards those only tangentially associated with your likeness, such as Sumireko Usami for example. However, what I'd like to discuss with you may in fact involve another separate individual from you two all-together."
"Is...that so..?" Renko couldn't help but nervously look towards the suspiciously doll-shaped lump deep within her handbag before Eirin handed her the withered and worn parchments from her documents.

"These papers would otherwise be kept safely contained deep within the Hieda Family Archives, though they were initially recovered from the far southern recesses of this forest over 800 years prior. Tell me, is the information contained within these documents of any greater relevance towards you?"
>>
>>50144787
Renko could only stare on with wild disbelief, instantly recognizing the timid yet elegant handwriting made all the more damning by the fact that the still-surviving text was written with now incredibly-faded orchid ink.
She hastily shuffled the final page of the set to the front only to hitch her breath at the sight of her own name, apparently written centuries ago by the dream-self of her dearly beloved companion.

"You've never been able to fully identify the person behind these notes, have you? How could you?"

"It's just as I've told you, I have my own suspicions but need to confirm some things with you personally before settling on anything. I assume you Do understand that greater context better than we've ever been able to, however?"

"Y-Yes, all of these were written by my dormmate Me...well, her name's not important. But I have proof these really did come from someone from my own time! Watch."
That's exactly what Eirin and Kaguya do as Renko begins to rifle through her handbag again, intending to only retrieve a manila folder containing some of her and Merry's own personal documents from previous field expeditions but instead causing a small flurry of items to spill across the kotatsu due to how jam-packed the bag had become from the Three Fairies' gifts. She double-checked its contents to ensure the Doctor would only see what she needed to before handing over papers containing both her and Merry's own handwriting using that same pen ink to cross-reference.

Eirin slipped out a small pair of reading glasses and began looking over each of the papers carefully while Kaguya's attentions had remained on Renko's bag.
"Say Renko, what's with those little doll legs sticking out of your bag there?"
"Oh, that...i-it was a gift from the first person I ran into after entering Gensokyo. Alice was her name."
The girl had been hoping to herself that she /wouldn't/ need to explain why she was carrying around a stuffed facsimile of her best friend but figured she now at least owed Princess Kaguya a good look at the thing. Renko pulled out the floppy Merry Doll with little fanfare and handed it over to Kaguya. The Lunarian Exile cradled the doll carefully while staring on with fascination before breaking out into a frivolous expression and toting it across the kotatsu.

Kaguya began to hum a small tune to herself while holding the Merry Doll by its arms and waving them around to the rhythm, allowing the both of them to share a warm moment of laughter together.
"Hey Eirin, look at this little thing! Isn't she Cute~?"

The Doctor, having grown satisfied with looking through the provided evidence, calmly turned towards the Princess only for her eyes to go wide and her jaw to drop slightly at the sight of the Doll. She immediately removed her spectacles and snatched the Merry Doll from Kaguya's hands, much to the sudden incredible concern of a nearby Renko who had grown deathly silent. Eirin flipped the doll over in her hands several times and even attempted looking under its sewn-on mob cap for anything potentially concealed.

Its half-cut button eyes glimmered under the soft lantern light around them, holding deeply concealed secrets and terribly palpable implications over its true purpose.

Eirin Yagokoro was Certainly no one's Fool, and this single Doll suddenly stood as a complete affront towards everything she thought she knew regarding Gensokyo's truest origins among its highest Sages.

"This is the True Author behind those ancient documents, isn't she? Your most Valued and Trusted Companion dedicated to the spiritually abnormal?"
"S-She's, uh...also the only other member of our Club that focuses on those subjects..."

Eirin had nothing to say, but her body still certainly remembered how to react during moments like this. Her expression suddenly twisted into a grim sneer under the dim inner light, tightly gripping the Merry Doll with a trembling hand as the other gripped the kotatsu.

"Kaguya, give that girl her hat back This Instant."
The Princess does so concerningly, her previous elation now suppressed, with Renko eagerly taking it back and firmly putting it on while the Doctor turns her icy glare towards the Physicist.
"...You make me Sick."

"/What?!/", both other girls cry out in unison.
"Eirin...what's the matter? You're acting like that doll is Dangerous."
The Doctor abruptly stands due to growing frustrations. "Because it IS Dangerous, Kaguya! This Outsider has already been Compromised! The Doll has been infused with a terrible psychologically-binding curse and Renko's been unwittingly toting it around Gensokyo like some kind of—"
"Master, is that you in there? I'm here with Tewi. I've finished my patrols for now but she's been trying to tell me something about..."
Tewi takes the liberty of opening up the room for an awaiting yet ever-anxious Reisen, in the middle of removing her suit for the night before finally realizing what Tewi had meant when she claimed her 'Fangirl' was here...
>>
>>50144810
"...This. Damnit, Tewi. I /told/ you I didn't want to be apart of this after her Village Chase today! That's why I gave her hat to Kaguya." The smaller rabbit did nothing but smirk with her hands behind her head in response.
"Hey! You're the one that couldn't just give it to me then, Thief!"
"Wh—ghk—I..! /YOU..!!/ I didn't even HAVE the thing ON me then you /Maniac!!!/ Who do you even think you are?! I..."
She stops herself mid-point when her lunatic eyes catch a glimpse of something within Renko's handbag that /definitely/ shouldn't have been there. Renko quickly noticed her unbroken laser-focus and started hastily shoving all her documents and other belongings back into its depths, including the Merry Doll which Eirin had let go of as soon as the Rabbit came back into the picture.

"Where did you get that?"
"Where did I get what?"
"You know what."
"Uhh no I don't, what are you talking about?"
"What is it, Udongein? What do you see?"
"She doesn't see anything! You're all a bunch of Schemers! Let me go!!"
"/Liar!/ If that's what I think it is then you STOLE that!"
"What do ya even think it is?"
"What's going on..?"
"This is a Set-Up! Collusion! Betrayal!! I came here for ONE thing and ONE thing only, THIS HAT, and I'll be DAMNED if I even let a single one of you pry it out of mY COLD, DEAD HAN-"

The unintentional emotionally-driven force of her hand shoving everything back inside the bag caused the object of Reisen's interest to forcefully pop out and make itself known to everyone. The Lunar Capital Occult Orb, instinctually programmed to be accessible when its current user needed it most, was suddenly floating in the open air in front of Renko and bathed the space in its cool purple glow.
Reisen instantly had goosebumps.

The Harvest Super-Moon now directly overhead had overtly amplified its potential for Occult Manifestation significantly, the central Palace still clearly visible to all through the darkened fish-eye lens distortion.
"Unbelievable..."
"Is that one of those..?"
"I-It's Lady Sagume's Urban Legend Power Stone..! I knew it!! You hand that back over right this instant you little Twerp!"

Renko instantly stands to dart an arm out and grabs the Orb, clutching it close to her person as she slowly begins to back away from the four individuals closing in on her like a frightened animal.
"Why?? So it can just be sealed away somewhere?! Maybe I'll just take it for myself to study then when I get back home!!"
"Miss Usami! Please, I implore you, you don't know what level of influence and power you'd be dealing with!"
"You really can use this thing to get to the Lunar Capital I bet, can't you?! YOU'RE ALL TRYING TO HIDE THE TRUTH FROM ME, I KNOW IT!!!"
Even the Princess had now risen from where she once sat, recognizing that things were likely on the verge of some kind of breaking point here at least.
"Renko, Please! Listen to Eirin and Reisen. We only want what's best and you don't need to do anything hasty!"
"No, No..! You're wrong...it's all Wrong!!"
Her breathing began to grow frantic.
"Oh boy, this'll be good."
Her eyes darted across every corner of the room as Eirin took another step towards her person.
"I-I-I'll prove it, I'll do it! I'LL SHOW YOU!!"

She lunged for her briefcase currently sitting near Reisen by the door, causing Eirin to assume she was mere moments away from breaking out past the rabbit girls into a sprint towards the front entrance.
"Kaguya! The Hallways..!"

But the Princess' localized Spell of Eternity would not be able to account for the given unpredictability of a young, short-tempered Japanese Woman overly-enflamed with both incredible passion and a bottomless inability to completely understand most social norms.

"/I'LL SHOW YOU ALL!!!/"

She cries out with righteous fury as she then turns on a heel and, with all the force she could possibly muster, barrels towards the nearby glassless rounded window port with her head down and her arms firmly crossed in front of herself. The centuries-old wallpaper and horse-hair-enwoven wooden paneling was no match for the sheer might of the college girl's body, the sounds of sudden destruction ringing out far & wide into the open fields and many stalks beyond.
Every Rabbit that had previously been pounding fresh medicinal mochi stopped to watch a now dust-coated and slightly lacerated Renko tumble into the grass alongside the debris with a groaning cough. The Physicist wasted zero time reorienting herself, re-securing all her belongings and only looking back over her shoulder briefly as she frantically ran towards the nearest fence. She held her recovered hat down on her scalp with one hand and used the other to death-grip her briefcase while holding the Lunar Orb under that same arm.

Eirin and Reisen both rushed to the fresh jagged hole in their wall where a window and bonsai tree once stood only to stare on in utter shock, but it didn't take long for the Doctor to snap back into focus.
>>

"UDONGEIN! INABAS! AFTER THAT HUMAN! She's attempting to escape with a highly-sensitive and confidential Lunarian Artifact! DON'T LET HER LEAVE THIS FOREST!!"
By the time Tewi had joined the two, sounding out a secret informative call-to-arms to every bunny in the greater area by blowing into her pendant like a whistle, Renko had already chucked her briefcase over the fence and was halfway over the top of it with her hat hanging from her mouth for safety like a dead animal.
She tossed herself down into a running start just as she heard several pairs of feet all rush across the grass over to the same spot of the fence, refusing to look back again as she began her mad dash through the Bamboo Forest with her bounty.

At first, the only thing she could hear was her incredibly ragged breathing as leaves, branches and long grass all whipped past in a frenzied blur. Her fresh wounds stung in the harsh breeze of her momentum. After maybe a minute or so of partially-mindless weaving and winding, however, she began to hear yells and calls scattered throughout the forest in an effort of coordination by her pursuers. Off in the distance she could see individually-lit lanterns beginning to come together, all spreading forward in the same direction the girl had already been running in.
Damnit...she needed a quick way out of here with this Lunar Orb and How! Her panicked gaze extended to the full flurry of stars above, perfectly framing a super full moon giving off a nearly comical amount of luminescence. If she could just figure out where the edge of the forest was from here than maybe she could—

"/OOF!!/"

Her desperate sprint came to a harsh end after running into something dense and too low to the ground to have noticed in her periphery while trying to coordinate herself. In the second before her sore body hit the dirt again, she could've sworn that she'd felt something almost soft and fuzzy cushion the initial impact, but she had no initial idea what it could've even been.

At least until who she'd just slammed herself into decided to rise herself from her small, interrupted nap and fiercely loom over the cowering Renko below with a dark & imposing 8 or 9 foot stature. She initially bore her drool-coated dagger-length fangs with a low growl out of simple annoyance, large paws easily within gorging distance of the college girl, but stopped as soon as her glowing blood-red eyes and powerful canid snout told her that this was still a friend and not a foe.
She sat herself down lazily in front of Renko with her head cocked to the side, thick tail swooshing behind her and large ears slanted with confused concern over why Renko seemed so distressed. Well...besides the obvious potential shock of /this/ of course.
"Oh..!! Kagerou! Is that you?? Great! Listen, I-I don't have much time here and I think I might need your help again t—"

Both girls lunged away from each other when an incoming crimson shockwave marked by the violent blast of a shotgun tore through the surrounding bamboo stalks and forcibly separated them.
A single reloading pump could be heard in the distance down the fresh straightaway that had been created behind them.

"/RENKO!!!/"

"SHIT! Kagerou I got a buncha Rabbits on my tail and I need you to get me back to your Pond from earlier RIGHT now! I have an escape plan that I need to enact ASAP!!"
The Werewolf may not have been in her usual state of mind for these full moon nights, but she still at least understood how to bring a friend to safety. Reisen quickly closed the distance after calling out for all the nearby rabbits to start encroaching upon the area but was only able to make it in time to see Renko latching onto the thick fur of Kagerou's back like a baby bear. The beast girl turned to fiercely roar in the face of the Rabbit and took a powerful swipe at her, forcing her to leap backwards by a few meters.
She watched with hopeless frustration as Kagerou then absconded towards their final destination. Of all the alliances that girl could've made before showing up here...

Kagerou tore through any stalks too dense to weave around properly at the speed she was now charging, caring for little more than ensuring they both made it back in one piece to a place Kagerou could practically sleepwalk her way towards. At first, Renko simply clutched herself to the practically-indestructible Force of Nature as tightly as she had her eyes shut, but a few moments of uninterrupted sprinting allowed her to eventually try surveying the situation again.

The Occult Ball had remained on her person, tucked and fiercely pinned under her arm, while her briefcase and handbag slammed against Kagerou's pelt with each errant bump, stone and rotted log they had to cross over. Gaggles of lantern lights and excitable voices were slowly closing in on both sides, though the duo continued to hold the advantage when it came to sheer speed which was practically all that mattered right now.

Just a few more yards ahead...
>>
>>50144854
Next came the matter of how to even properly use the Orb at all to get to the Moon itself, which Renko surmised had to be somewhat instinctual and could even possibly operate under the same parameters Merry had created during their own initial visit. The only problem there was what would even come next anyways once she /was/ finally on her own again, fully intending to make the expedition on her own either way despite having never even made it farther than the Lunar beaches.
If Lunarian Society was as inherently isolationist as she assumed and some of the only notable figures besides its holy royalty really were a bunch of common moon rabbits then she'd need to be able to find some kind of disguise good enough to...

Wait...Disguise..! /That's it!!/

"Oh c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'monnn.../AHA!/ Got it~!"
The glass of the mysterious singularly-labeled bottle of the bunch perfectly reflected the night sky overhead, Renko willing to take a Huge gamble over its possible potential effects just for the sake of a little extra security then & there before Kagerou finally bursts her way into the open field of her Private Pond. She digs her bright red claws and the thick padding of her paws into the moistened dirt below, intending to come to a stop, but instead slides forward slightly with a stumble and causes Renko's own momentum to catapult her off her ride face-first into the grass.

She nearly drops everything she'd been carefully carrying before pulling herself back to her feet, staring at Kagrou's supped-up form preparing to defend the Physicist from the incoming hordes with all the might she could muster.

"Thank you Kagerou", were the last words she muttered before turning towards the humble pond. Renko stared deeply into the wide, rippling reflection of the yellowed moon overhead with serious resolve and full determination. She slid her hand further through the handle of her briefcase until she had both hands free again, uncorking the labeled animal concoction before tossing the stopper aside and using her freshly-freed hand to grip the orb in full.
The image within the orb had pulled away from the Capital itself until the entirety of the far side of the Moon was visible to Renko, churning Lunar Seas and all.

It really was now or never. As soon as the stars above told her that the clock had struck 8:30pm, she could hear how many different Bunny girls had finally made it within spitting distance of the clearing.

"Reisen, there she is! Just ahead!! MOVE IT GIRLS!!!"
"RENKO, STOP!!! THEY'LL TORTURE YOU ALIVE UP THERE IF YOU DON'T..!!"

She downed the rounded bottle with a single heartfelt swig as Kagerou let out yet another powerful roar, flinging it aside.
Renko took a running start with a few deep, short breaths and dove into the now eerily-stilled Lunar reflection of the waters Ball-first with nearly four-dozen individual Earth Rabbits as her witness. The splash enveloped her furiously below the fresh waves as a cacophony of bubbles pulled her into the pond's supernaturally deepened & darkened depths with little more than a few mild ripples to show for it on the other side, like someone had dropped a fist-sized stone straight into the middle of the water from right above its surface.

Reisen Udongein Inaba fell to her knees as her custom weapon clattered beside her, ears completely crumpled in anguish.

It was over, and the Usami girl had gotten away.

They've Failed.

...

Renko was only able to keep her eyes open long enough to feel the sudden stinging of dense saltwater force them shut again, body swaying and flailing wildly in every direction as tidal forces and gravitational equilibriums shifted drastically within seconds. Her chest was starting to feel tight, headspace weak and vaguely nauseous due to imperceptibly switching from being pulled down to being forced upward while still 'falling' in the same direction.

She could barely make out the few beams of sparkled twilight above cutting through the vast and empty liquid void as the fierce Lunar waves forced the girl to their surface.

Lightning and violent rains crashed down all around Renko as her face finally breached the waters, choking and gasping for air. She could feel how powerfully the tides would swell and shrink across the surface, carrying the Physicist helplessly like an ant in a wave pool as she attempted to tread water while still holding all her drenched things to the best of her ability.
The only thing she could see on the given horizon was more endless sea.

Everything felt as loud as a Typhoon and Renko's ears had suddenly become inexplicably hot & itchy with very little she could do about it.
Her body's energy rapidly faded against the struggle until the Ocean of Storms had once again swallowed its sole inhabitant back into the murky chaos.
Renko's hat remained drifting atop the surface of the waters with little more than a few disjointed bubbles coming up from the depths to greet it.

The college girl lost track of her consciousness shortly thereafter, and everything grew cold.

I certainly won't mind an epilogue:)

That remind me, has anyone here linked the Flandre's Bizarre Adventure series yet?

It took me a while to realize that this story is from another thread and not this one. I was so confused.

I don't think anybody has.

Wasn't there some offshoot chan site/board that specialized in Touhou and Touhou fanfics? I swear there was and I can't remember how to find it.
>>
>>50163493
It's called THP (dot) moe or Touhou-project (dot) moe
The most recent mentions of it on /jp/ are due to an author from the site and his clique being the thread pests for the manga threads.
>>
>>50163642
The grimsokyo tard? Is the rest of the site as bad as he is?
>>
>>50163654
No, it just looks like its one author and his Mutants and Mastermind group. They also have general threads on THP, but it looks like they have the same song and dance their whenever Reimu or another one of the designated topics pop up.
>>
>>50163493
>>50163642
I can assure you that most of the site is pretty alright. Do they have autism so intense that they write and vote on fanfiction about 2hus in funny hats? Yes. Are they all autistic enough to shit up threads? No. There are also some genuine great finished and unfinished stories there.
t. writer of a currently running quest in /others/

Then no, it's not all since I haven't shit up any threads recently.
While we're on the topic of fanfiction, I've always had a soft spot for crossover fanfics that don't take themselves too seriously. I reread this one occasionally: https://fanfiction.net/s/10699178/1/The-Nine-RED-Men-Incident

ARE YOU MOTIVATED TO CONTINUE YOUR FANFIC?!?!?
>>
>>50176141
I do, depending on if my bipolarity doesn't screw me up. I also have a tight schedule, so except for some shitposts I don't have much time to go on the internet. I'm also painfully ESL, so it takes an extra amount of time.
>>
>>50178964
Don't worry, I have you'll impregnate the dragon god one day
>>
>>50179503
Genghis Khan would be proud of me! This is how you assert your dominance over the world! Then you go conquer and exterminate the Koreans!
Shitposting aside; I am more of a Byakuren man and I'm not into impregnation because I don't feel ready to raise a kid. This is heavy responsibility, man.

>Vergil impregnating the motherfucking Dragon God
The worst of all... It can really happen! Because Vergil being Vergil.

Please do not turn Gensokyo into Finnsokyo.

Reading these two posts high was an experience. I had to take a double take if these were real posts.

>Finnsokyo
I wonder if the myth of the finnokorean hyper war has entered Gensokyo?
>>
>>50180472
Why not? Don't you want ebin happy Gensokyo with hot biker ladies in the sauna doing pro-wrestling matches and everything not having a bit of sense but you'll do it anyways for the lulz? (I have a work in progress like that, a huge shitpost.)
>>50181018
One of them is coming from Finland, thus not real.

One word; Perkele!

I've been seeing a resurgence of the Hyper war memes in other boards.

Do they speak about the Hyper war or touhou in general in Ylilauta?

Reimu fighting her schizophrenia, Eric Cartman or the trolls on facebook.

>>50186704
Someone should write a fanfic while high. Maybe they'll think of something great and the immediately forget about it.

How many characters can we guess aren't wearing anything underneath? This is purely for research purposes

I've tried, but my lifelong insomnia means pot just puts me to sleep almost immediately. I did write half a fic high on coke but it wasn't any good.

Let's just say that I "didn't intentionally" enter the women's sauna with "benis bowar mazximom :DDDD XDDD" and almost got my ass kicked. That's all I'm gonna tell you, unless you want a blogpost on a fanfiction thread. Anyways, feast your eyes on heaven and forget the shit I say.
